Met Patrick on the set of North and South (I was a battlefield reenactor). He was gracious, funny and just a regular guy. Didn't disappear to his trailer between takes, rather stayed out in the miserable Mississippi heat with the rest of us in full, 1840's battle gear. Just an amazing, humble and honest man. RIP, Patrick.
In 1990 I was dating a lady. She dragged me to the theater to see Ghost. I thought it was some chick flick. My God! I had no idea it would be that powerful. By that last scene, where he goes into the light, all the ladies were weeping, my date too. It actually brought us closer, that she could cry like that on only our 3rd date. We were married in 1993. I cried like I had lost a close relative when Mr. Swayze passed away. I couldn’t figure out why I was so broken. I went into depression, hair fell out.........I was a hot mess! I had to fight my way out of that dark place and start living.I have a lot of admiration and love for other actors. However, I think Mr. Patrick Swayze brought his soul to the screen when acting. That said, I somehow felt his spirit and I connected (my crazy opinion). To this day, I cry when I watch Ghost. His Angels came in real life and took him to Heaven.......damn tears again!!!
I have just read the autobiography of Patrick Swayze "The time of my life" which was co written by Lisa Niemi and it is totally inspirational. Patrick writes the book after he had first been diagnosed with cancer and I love his honesty and determination and zest for life. He continues to influence me as I watched this trailer and I now want to watch "One last dance". X

I worked at the exchange a few miles from his home up here and we would talk for hours at a time in the early AM hrs. He was a very "Down-To-earth" guy. He Loved his wife & family dearly. Some of The Greatest Conversations On Earth were spent between he & I. I'm the Comic-Comedian type, & I would get Patrick laughing so hard he'd have to put the phone down for a minute ta chill! In my heart I still miss our zany-crazy & sometimes very serious calls together. Patrick, You Are Greatly Missed.
