    Nice build.
Just a few suggestions to refine the build a bit.
Cutting the plywood with face side down if using a circular saw or face side up on a table saw will eliminate all of the splintering I'm seeing providing you are using a fresh or sharp finish blade. Additionally, biscuitting in 3/4" square stock on all of the exposed plywood edges will not only look more professional but will provide a more suitable base for screwing in the pulls and hardware.
Using finish washers on all of the exposed screws and stainless square drive screws will add a level of finish refinement.
Move that LP tank well away from the auxiliary battery and related electronics. Perhaps secure it in a padded box behind a door well anchored. As it is right now, you have essentially an unsecured bomb sitting on top of a catalyst under the right (wrong) conditions.
Use baltic birch or maple plywood for your platforms and built ins.
Be sure to use wood glue/clamp all of your joinery. That is going to squeak in the not too distant future if it hasn't already.
Replace the headlamps, turn signals, tails etc. At this level of build it will really make the exterior shine and safer night driving.
Question.....Have you upgraded the alternator or perhaps added a second alternator?
Also, look into the "big 3" upgrade for battery/alternator cabling.

Thank you for all your suggestions. I know I'm not perfect yet but I'm learning and improving with each new build.

Looks great. Only. You gotta update those headlights and tail lights. Spent all that money but didnt spend another 180 bucks for lights. It takes the look to a whole new level. I have a 99 gmc suburban camper. But its in progress as far as i side goes

looks like a nice build, only thing is that I'd reconsider keeping the propane tank inside. There are restrictions on transporting propane tanks in certain states and if it gets hot, and the tank is full enough, propane can be released into the vehicle. plus having it next to the electrical equipment, all it takes is a spark on a hot day. Just food for though.

I just found your site. I have a 99 Tahoe that my son and I evetually want to camp in. I like your simple design. I would though suggest that you anchor the items in the back. Propane tank ect. Or place a stout screen between them and the passenger area. People do not realize what can happen to loose items if the have a hard stop or a front end collision. Look forward too more. Oh. I cant figure out how to fold down the rear seat. Any instructions would be appreciated.

Thank you for your feedback. When I go on a trip, everything gets tied down securely in order to avoid flying objects during hard stops. I am currently working on a 99 Tahoe conversion that I've made a video if you would like to check that out. I will be completing it in the coming weeks and will make another video showcasing the finished product.

New sub here. I like Rubio, good looking suv. Wish you'd had made a video of installing everything. What are you using to cover all the windows in the back and also what are you using to keep them in place?

Fantastic! I absolutely love it!! How much did you spend on paint + mechanical + cosmetic fixes (seats, door handles, etc... not counting the overlanding stuff)
    Any interest in selling it?

I have to do this to my suburban. The conversion inside. What’s a ball park cost for the inside conversion including, storage, battery, bed, kitchen and fridge? Looks really good!

    • @Horizoncamperbuilds
      @Horizoncamperbuilds  4 года назад +1

It depends on how much you want to spend. Prices for batteries, 12v fridges, electrical equipment, wood, building materials and other components can vary. I would estimate anywhere between 3k to 5k without labor.

You can find it on Amazon, however, the full size foldable mattress needs to be resized to fit the width of the Suburban interior.
