My heart goes out to all those who perished on the Titanic anniversary sinking. Let us honor their memory and never forget the tragedy that unfolded that night. 111 years, wow!
Rest in peace everyone who died that tragic night 111 years ago. They will be remembered forever through these videos and our fascination with the ship and their stories. ❤
Sam I want to thank you so much for all the hard work and dedication you put into the Titanic videos this series of videos commemorating her sinking and the tragic deaths of so many on her 111th anniversary have been excellent, can’t wait for the final video. Thank you for keeping both her memory and the memories of all who were struck by this tragedy alive for all Titanic lovers both old and new!👏
Many second class passengers on Titanic were booked into first class on another ship. Due to the coal strike, those ships transferred those passengers to Titanic. When they arrived, they discovered they were now classed as second class, as first class was much more expensive on Titanic than on other ships. They felt their cabins were too small, so the Titanic managed to offered them some of the dual cabins, these were cabins on E Deck which were able to be classified as 1st or 2nd class. They were in fact switchable between those two classes if the ship needed it. It also meant their layout was much more similar to first class standard cabins, and made those second class passengers feel more comfortable with a slight upgrade.
I know this is not related but do you ever plan on doing a video about the MV primrose . It crashed on a isolated island called north sentinel island which is inhibited by a tribe called the sentenallies . The sentenallies are pretty much humans in the stone age until the MV primrose shipwrecked . It was carrying iron and other materials that the sentenallies scavenged after the crew escaped and went into a iron age . It's incredible and extremely unique . I haven't heard of anything like this ever happening .
Sam when you’re on a work week break from work, make sure to do the rest of the titanic series from April 12 1912 to all the way to the impact and the sinking of the titanic with the iceberg I’ve been gone for super long time too. I’m planning to do another video today so if you wanna watch it, I’ll link in the bio.
I used to live across from queenstown which is now called “cobh” its very interesting to know that the place I used to look at was where the titanic once was not to mention Cobh itself there is an impressive titanic experience tour you can do which is really impressive, been a few years but they had the exact smells of the funnels and stuff at the place and everything
You know every now and then you are surprised at how perfect math can be. Water weights 8.4 pounds per gallon. Im a bit of a Titanic fan so I know the size of the breach was determined by how fast she sank. And it was determined at 104,000 gallons per minute. So based off the time Titanic took to sink, that would have been 104.83 million gallons of water. I looked up the weight of the ship, and it happens to be almost approximately the same weight as the weight of the water it took in. 104.8 million pounds taken in, 104.6 million pounds weight of the ship.
That short thick line on the map outside Southampton is the ship`s route out into the Channel, and the top edge of that line is the actual site of the Olympic/HMS Hawke collision in Sept 1911. John Coffey was one of those who got off the ship in Queenstown by actually concealing himself in a mailbag. Father Browne was ordered off by his boss in Dublin. There is a newspaper article online which deals with these two.
I do have a question. When ships like The Titanic stop at ports where they cannot dock at the dock but anchor and the tender boat has to bring the passengers to the ship how do they actually get on board the ship? I know nowadays cruise ships have a deck where passengers can get outside the ship and climb some stairs to get on a tender or the ship's door is low enough for a bridge to get passengers off and back onto the ship was it similar with The Titanic and other ships of the time?
Maybe you already covered it but did you ever talk about the iceberg itself. Like possibly where it came from, height from the water, possible length and did anyone ever see the iceberg again( I think I saw supposed pictures of it) . I know a lot of that would be guesses but still just wonder how much info there is on the iceberg itself.
920 passengers boarded in Southampton, 281 passengers were picked up at Cherbourg and 123 passengers boarded in Queenstown. That makes 1,324 passengers.

I have a what if scenario for you. If it was the Britanic instead of the titanic that hit the iceberg and the damage and events were identical, would it have survived the iceberg hit? If not, would it last longer?
Very intresting! But you do yourself a disservice by starting half of your sentences with tbe word "Now." It's gotten almost as bad as Sean Hannity,, who does the same thing. Please get rid of that verbal tic.

They get on gangways and board the ship.
I think dont quote me on that😂
There's a brilliant Titanic museum at Cobh (Queenstown) in Ireland.
I just started thinking about what if the side door of the Titanic would not have been left open so maybe that can be an interesting video 🙂
Hey sam when are you coming to continue your titanic series?
its a side project but trust me I will get to it soon!

Was it possible to see from Titanic Fastnet Rock lighthouse?
No it would have been impossible. Queenstown was more to the east of Fastnet, around 65 miles east of Cobh (Queenstown).
123 passengers bored the titanic at queenstown now called cobh.only 44 survived
Hi Sam
Could you research which time zone Titanic was in at 11:40 April 14, 1912?
Close to Eastern maybe
Why did the second-class passengers want to change cabins, what was wrong with their original cabin?

Is this assuming Britannic had all of her 1916 safety features?
