New Engine Water Pump from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ib/1AEW...
The water pump keeps coolant flowing through your engine. Common failures of the water pump will leave the coolant leaking, or stagnant. Both will lead to overheating if left untreated. Install a new engineered to fit water pump from TRQ for total peace of mind. This video shows you how to install a TRQ water pump in your 2009-2017 Chevy Traverse.

first time mechanic..I put the water pump pulley back on slightly secured the 4 bolts ..put the belt on to tighten the 4 bolts and couldn't because the pulley still turns ...I followed your excellent video to the letter.. what's wrong??

Can you please do a video on how to replace the belt tensioner AND idler pulley on this same vehicle? Ours is a 2015, & the mechanic I took it to couldn't pull the bolt out all the way that holds the idler pulley in place. He said the bolt was too long & hits on the unibody, & wouldn't come out all the way. So he wasn't able to change out my idler pulley and belt tensioner. I was in denial because I was hoping to get these 2 swapped out with the new belt & water pump just as a preventative measure, not because they were bad. (I had already bought the parts). Please help!

I appreciate this video soooo much I had to change the water pump in my wife's car today and followed your video the whole way and it went pretty smoothly

One of the best videos to changer the water pump. I followed the instructions and the new pump appeared to be leaking. However, the leak was coming from the water outlet. I ended changing the 2 seals of the water outlet. Engine Coolant Outlet O-Ring ID:12584040, Water Outlet Seal ID: 12690764. I recommend to change both seals when changing the pump.

Good instructions. Going to order the part. Question: Can you do all this from the top down and not take the wheel off?

Wife’s water pump needed to be replaced. No problem. I’ve done a bunch of them. Quick job. Piece of cake. Got the part for $20 bucks. So far so good. Took a look at how to do it on this car….. well god damn it. I always forget I hate working on anything newer than ‘95.

So just disassemble engine and frame. Disconnect all electrical and set it all aside. Remove trunk and strip paint to remove pump. Set vehicle on fire and voila! Done.

I'm going to have to replace my water pump (255k miles, so I'm not surprised) probably this spring as the pump is slightly damp (according to a shop it was in recently). This video is excellent! I had seen another video in the past and it looked much harder because they did not remove the fuse box. Since the fuse box is right over the water pump, it seems like a no brainer to get to it from there. Can you also replace the alternator from the top down, too? Or do you have to access it from underneath?

WARNING!! This is a great video and I fallowed it and it is much easier then it seems once you start into it. And doing it from the top like this you can clearly see the gasket is set properly and easily torque all of your bolts exactly. However, at 15:17 where he says you can leave your heat on just lightly, I would like to advise everyone to NOT touch your climate controls at all!!! Your cars climate control will start at 74° which is right in the middle, I actually suggest you just turn on the ignition (one click of the key where the radio and windows will work but not start the car) and then wait two minutes then turn the key off and then start your Traverse and fallow what he says around 15:05, but still don't touch the climate controls for at least two minutes. The reason is after a long time without a battery the Traverse and the Buick and GMC version of this car needs to calibrate the heating controllers that mix how much hot or cold air blows and also if it blows on the feet or window or both. If you turn your temperature too much towards hot or cold, it can cause the actuator to keep turning past the hard stop and crack the internal gears. And in my opinion these little actuators are almost as hard to replace as the water pump.

Great job and video, I tried coming in from the bottom just didn’t have the tools to make that happen. So somehow after putting the fuse box all back together I have an issue with no front lights now and it still thinks the hood is open. So getting those blocks tightened back up correctly may be my problem? Can you answer that?
