I purchased an 2019 Maverick x3 turbo R. I was told that I should always have an extra clutch belt on hand before going out riding. What aftermarket belts do you suggest, please?
Congrats on the new machine! There are a lot of varying opinions out there and everybody has their preference but other than the OEM belt, I would recommend trying one of the Trinity Racing Extreme belts. You can check those out here: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/trinity-racing-extreme-drive-belt-p
Great video and well explained. I had to help my buddy with his Can Am and this was useful. However, I will admit, this whole episode just adds more reasons to why I LOVE my Yamaha YXZ so MUCH!! Also, I did not realize the Can Am belts cost more than a YXZ Barnett Clutch, carbon fiber, with springs; which you change in a YXZ at about 9,000 miles. No regrets! Thanks!
Very true! In particular if you race. Having a product that can be raced and hammered on, yet is reliable... Well, it's why the YXZ is the dominant race machine. Reliability and cost.~ proof is in the race results. If they get King of Hammers this year, they will tie up almost every off-road series. Again, working on my buddies 17' Can-Am and the seeing endless electrical problems he has had and see how many X3's sit in the shop weekend after weekend, really made me glad what I chose!
parkcitymacs How to replace the x3 spark plugs? I have a miss fire on all three cylinders. That is what they told me to do. Also bad gas they said did it.
I have heard that you should wash the new belt with soap and warm water before installing it, is this true? I have not blown a belt yet as I just recently purchased my Maverick X3 Max Xrs. I have purchased a spare belt just in case. I need to find out if washing it is required or not.
*Babak Sadeghpour* We don’t see it to be a problem just as long as its dry before install. Definitetly a little scotch bright pad on the sheaves is a good practice as well. Thanks for watching.
nah it shouldnt do naything buscause all your doing is spinning it. Nothing is really going on. I'd say its pretty good chance something else is wrong with your unit. Best of luck to you homie
Hi, i have big problem with my can am outlander 1000r xmr , i changed two belts in last 2 months wich means one month one belt i dont do wheelie or something like that but it breaks so often pls help should i buy maverick belt and put it on my outlander and what i should do before i installed it pls help and do you have tips what i shoudn’t do .
The second link in the description of this video will take you to the Can-Am Puller/Locking Tool. Or you can click the link below. www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/can-am-puller-locking-tool-p
Thanks for the vid! Changing the belt shouldnt be easier than changing oil, however on the Can Am its way easier. In fact id say this is the easiest part of owning an X3. It surely isnt getting in and out of one of these cheaply made POS vehicles. The body panels and doors on a machine costing over 20k is laughable. My Tonka truck toy when I was a kid was built with more rigidity than this milk carton rig disguised as body panels. The only thing worth a damn on this machine is the speed, everything else fails! Thin control arms, shock mounts thin metal, seats mounting up front on 1/16 inch thin flanges. My god this rig took me and yall to the bank. Next time go Kawi, reliable easy to do maintenece and stout with doors that are actually double skinned and full you dont have to open them with a winch strap.
Where is a good video on how to judge what torque you’ve applied when hand tightening a wrench? You said tighten to 4.4 lbs of torque and I am unfamiliar with how to achieve that without some measuring device??
@@inpursuitofgoodservice9636 you can calculate it based off the thread pitch and count on bolt as well as diameter in a mathematical equation on metal surfaces number of rotations = force on area of shaft ....
Glad I found just enough internet service out on the trail to teach me how to change my first belt. Thank you thank you thank you
Always a good idea to sandwich a coin between the tool bolt and the clutch plate thingy
I know it's an older video but thank you guys for putting this up it helped me out a lot and I just bought this exact model
Thank you :)
Simple and informative. Thanks for sharing
Helped me out when I ripped mine apart on the trail.. Thank you👍🏼🤙🏼

I have a miss fire on all three cylinders. That is what they told me to do.
Also bad gas they said did it.
parkcitymacs cool just found out how to send messages on here😆
Very helpful.

Thank you for the reply, so you do not see it to be a problem with washing it? or not washing it at all?
@@myquicklist1 He doesn't see a problem washing it, hence make sure it's dry before installing.
Good advice
Can you thread a bolt through the center of the tool? Or does it have to be the threaded hole on the side?
When rotating the clutch to settle the belt, if I rotate it too much will harm anything? I’ve been going into limp mode going over 40mph

Thank you for this info. Great video

You guys Rock.

Is it normal for the belt driven open tool to eat into the metal? When I changed mine it left a spot where it made contact with machine
Yes just put a quarter in between or buy the aftermarket wrench
Thanks
My new can am belt doesn't have directional arrows on it

Tools needed are always posted in the description of the video.

Great Video
how do you adjust belt deflection?
Some belts have no directional arrow. Then what ?
Hunter works RUclips video explains that they aren’t directional until they have been used.
Does the SXS need to be in neutral when changing the belt?
Neutral or park will be fine. -Charles
Any shipments to Mexico?
Yes, we ship to Mexico.
My Honda rippin wile your belt is slippin
Ecu location on a 21’ ?
Should be behind the driver seat on a 2 seat or behind the driver side rear seat on a 4 seater.
@@rmatvmc thank you!
Thanks I’m ready to do this shit lol
Easy
The round spreader tool does not come with the machine. FOS

👍👍👏🏻👏🏻
Should have blown the dirt & dust out of the clutches with compressed air & wiped down the case.
So much easier and cheaper than replacing the defective clutch in the YXZ.
Glad I didn't buy the YXZ with NO low range. Poor design by Yamaha.
The YXZ is a one-trick pony. Only good for running fast in flat open terrain.
Nooicee

There is no good method to determine torque by hand tightening. You need a torque wrench
@@rmatvmc Thank you, I discovered that from a another RUclips video I ended up finding.

I’d go with a YXZ but great video!
