Go Kim. What I like best is that she is still exploring. Maybe you love it, maybe you hate it, but she is out there pushing and exploring.
Exactly
we need more 71 years old role models!
That would be Chaka Kahn and Cyndi Lauper. Seriously.
Trump
71 ?no way!😮
Shit off is she 71!?!? 😮
no, we just need good ones.
that band is a beast
Camila Charlesworth bass & keys
Madi Vogt - drums, Sarah Register - guitar
Wish I was there. Pure punk distortion. LOVED it
was just wondering, thnxs
Thanks-yes intense groove-love the heavy distortion
gotta be intimidating eh? haha
They still slay it though.
She still has the same exact voice she had on Sister.
Yes, she still can't sing
@@xcx8646 Which has never been the point.
@@kassandrakid9440 It didn't matter as much when her songs where a token addition to Sonic Youth albums. Now it's all her not only is her non-singing a bit painful, so is the songwriting.
this song goes HARD
Kim in excellent form.
Avant-Garde Lady Pioneer of Noisy Noiser Noise! She IS!
Correct you are!
Queen Gordon
‘The Collective’ is by far the best release of 2024… AOTY contender 💋
Good to see the Sonik Youth vibe alive and kicking in 2024. And kudos to the young drummer. He was rockin. I got grey hairs older than that kid.
heads up thats not a guy
@@Damblan 😮
Kkkkkkkkkk
Thurston doing it as well but elsewhere 😉
This is my song of the year so far, just tied with Hiatus Kaiyote “Cinnamon Temple”
I respect your choices man but i cannot help but laugh the whiplash if you play them back to back 😂 And i love both of them too ! 😊
@@yudhistira9453 With all due respect, I actually think that 1 specific HK song isn’t too far off from what Kim Gordon is doing. Parts of it even remind me of Lightning Bolt, it’s crazy that they’ve never ever released a song that heavy before and knocked it out of the park
@@ArizonanSummer Ah ok, that does remind me that i need to listen to HK new album too!
Kim’s still got it! Pushing sonic boundaries with that incredible voice! Goddess! Wish I had been there! Amazing performance from wildly talented musicians. 🔥🔥🔥
Band is fire
Thanks!❤
Hell yes 🖤👏🏻👏🏻
Wow !
OBSESSED
MILES ahead of the other SY members output, just saying I know it's not a competition but she's killing it
Who's better than Kim Gordon? nobody. This is a GREAT song.
Molly Mcphoul❤
Thurston Moore is pretty good.
Laurie Anderson might be.
'The Collective' is the album of the year so far for me. Kim Gordon is STILL hard as nails!!!
I feel threatened by this song and I love it.
and all she's doing in the song is packing her luggage lmao
te amo pra sempre
Fantastic
both her last albums are decent psycho films, and her gigs and tours are, shaking the boxes - she's definitely not out to 'do another entertainment job' - decent Kim, go on!!!
I love the way you put that.,i dig.
Goosebumps
Was at the Birmingham gig. Brilliant
Kim rocking the Blacktop Jazzmaster!!! The indisputable Queen of Noise!!!
I was watching thinking is it a Jag or Jazzmaster or some kind of Jagmaster. Nice
KG!!!
This is freaking awesome!
QUEEN!
WoW! Fantastic.
it's kinda hard to argue that this music isn't pushing the boundaries of rap, and in an adjacent lane to playboi carti or ken carson. it's a weird convergence of timelines, a 71 year old lady somehow catching wind of rage beats and fusing it with industrial noise rock. artists like carti and don toliver have flirted with incorporating distorted guitars into their tracks, but they're beholden to mainstream palates, they would never take it to extreme sonic ends. so it falls into the hands of grandma to execute upon a combination that actually works tremendously well.. there's probably a lot to be explored in the industrial-rage-noise-rock-rap zone, but she's one few people daring and able to traverse that terrain. crazy
The queen!!!
Ícone!
Awesome! 😀
so good. so much love for kim
Yes! Yes yes yes!
hope they swing through the US again, i missed the louisville show
So sick 🔥🔥🔥
❤❤❤
Legend. as good live as ever 🖤🖤🖤🖤⚡⚡ Seen Sonic Youth twice- it seems Kim was the true punk of the group.
There are those old dudes playing till eternity songs they made when they were young, trapped in time, their past and big fat belly. And then there's Kim.
And John Cale. 82 and still putting out great new music.
Did you know it's possible to appreciate one artist without tearing down others? You should try it some time.
This may be one of the dumbest comments I've ever heard. Tell me you're a f'nist without telling me you're a f'nist.
I adore big fat belly

Tremendo
what a legend!!
OH YEAH!
❤
BIG respect! I think the phrase is "avant garde".
I like this song so much because it makes me dream of an improbable futur where i can say bye and live on an isle without neighbours.
epic
Saw her in London. The finale was everything. Taylor who?
Siento q no lo hacen siempre igual, me gusto la anterior ves, los silencios a cero se iban impresionante. Y los cortes tmb diferentes.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
SUGOIII 🔥🔥🔥
Her new album is f#cking brilliant!!
What a rockstar
i effin love this song. she kim gordan.
Never heard of Kim Gordon until just now...
Glastonbury has finally redeemed itself. Proper stellar dirty music 🎶💜😎
You never even heard of her time with the legendary sonic youth? If not, you absolutely should!!!!
@@atrainofthought99 not even heard of them either...😳.
Tonight I'll have a listen to the music and see what i think 🤔
@@timetocallitaday definitely recommend sonic youth! That’s how Kim Gordon was first known before they broke up and she went solo. Shes a legend.
@@timetocallitadayIf you only have a little time, check out "Kool Thing" from the Goo album. You might recognize it. Came out around 1990.
Hey BBC, publish Hungry Baby as well!!!
Where's the FUCK YEAH button?
Its amazing how many people played Glasto this year and the BBC didnt bother showing any of it on their main shows.
Goddess
fucking stellar.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
vibrataaah bye bye
slatt slatt slatt yeah yeah
❤ wish I could have come thru faster.
So badass. What a goddess.
3:05 Eugene Hütz from Gogol Bordello in the crowd
Who?
Nice catch, but not him. Nose too lengthy, forehead too high, hair too nappy.
good
The godmother of grunge has still got it, grunge is not dead.
The real Queen!
fuck yeah
Old age is just as sonic as youth if you want it to be.
wut
LOVE KIM FOREVER
Fuck son this is heavy
C'est Colossal !
I was a huge Sonic Youth fan.
Still cool as hell, still breaking down barriers as the punk rock Queen.
Trap + No Wave 🔥
coolest grandma i've ever fuckin seen wtff
what tuning is she in?
Good joke, made me laugh!
DIVA!!!!
Holy shit
Kim, the breeders & the national should have been the headliners
This song is gangster
日本で待ってるよ❤
I never thought Kim would be the member of Sonic Youth who would be making relevant music 2024. Good for her!
pretty backhanded compliment lmao
what does that even mean?
We never thought of you as a bright thinker too
Haha yeah, I am sure she really appreciates your ageist opinion 😅
She’s the one who has tried the hardest to not make Sonic Youth-b side-sounding songs (like Lee), but at least her second release is too monotonous…
Good lord..... What a racket !!!!
Kim's rad
Giving Liquid Sky vibes.
Yes, the Liquid-Sky-ish gloom and shriek of the synth lines
Sonic Youth.... Revenez s'il vous plaît
it takes a real one to recite her handbag contents while rocking an earth quaker device at full volume.
I met her ex-hubby Thurston in Glasgow three days ago. That was cool.
Typa shiz I'm on.
Sounds Great. Not using a tried formula.
Interesting, got some early Black Midi vibes about it…
The best era of black midi. Schlagenheim fuckin rocked
Kim Gordon moves with a purpose.
This phase is so nin late 2000s.
