There have been gay characters in movies and shows for decades that were more tongue-in-cheek, and it was fine without pointing it out and shoving it down your throat. Most of the time, it was for comedic effect. Then I think of Mrs. Doubtfire..... That movie is rated PG-13 for a reason. The concept of a man dressing as a woman, with the help of his gay brother is not meant for 6-10 year olds. As wholesome as the movie is, it's still too mature for kids under that age.
I haven't been to one of the parks since this all started so I'm not sure how they differ? I know of a few people who've been recently and say they enjoy it still. Not sure how it compares to 10 years ago though
If you want to teach them the ultimate lesson. SKIP Deadpool!!!! If you go see that and boost its numbers. It won’t change! Keep the boycott strong!!!!
