Thanks hun, Yes we do get a couple of weird comments! Glad top hear your feeling more confident on installing yourself, any problems just send us your questions on here please and we'll try and help
One thing the guy forgot to mention is if he is installing this as floating floors or fixed nail/glue to the subfloor. With Engineered wood flooring, I understand it is not floating, it should be fixed to the subfloor via nail or staple on the lips or glue if concrete below. BYOT videos shows these engineered wood flooring as fixed, not floating. If the uploader or anyone else knows, can you please write if it should be floating or fixed. One thing I did noticed at end of video 14:00 he showed a trim scotia bead, and he said to allow any movement to happen. (I thought Hybrid or SPC or laminate flooring is floating because the material is different to below wood so when wood expands or contracts with temperature it will not pull apart)
Wen u take out the spacers around the edges won’t d floor move and make gaps between the planks then u ave to move em back using duck tape or dubble sided tape wtf am I right or am I just of my head????
Helpful tips on layout considerations. But have to say, pretty poor quality flooring - both ends along the length were curling in the air and only the application of the molding bead would be holding it down, which is far from ideal. I suspect that over larger areas, it would be prone to 'springing' as you walk over it. With material that had that issue, I think I'd be more likely to glue it down, although personally, would spend a bit more to get a better quality product.
Sorry you feel that way! We've not had problems with installing it in homes in the past, may be due to an underfloor issue rather than the floor boards themselves, cheers
Thank you. Best video on youtube for fitting engineered wood.
Thanks John! Much appreciated!
Renovating an entire house and have done 75% myself using your videos. Amazing instructions in every video.
That's brilliant, really great to hear! What else do you need to do around your home?
Thats great to hear Robin, good luck. any question just fire away
I really like your thoroughness. You are the only contractor video I have seen that actually shows a humidity meter.
Thank you very much!
Cheers

Nice and simple if you've got no doors to go through or protrusions such as fire places etc. What about removing the skirting boards?
Yes that is an option of course! Just depends on whether or not you can take them off and put them back on afterwards
You really inspired me on the process techniques
Best wishes
Thank you!
Trying to do a bit of research on which type of flooring I should get.We have 2 cockapoos do you think laminate would be ok or engineered?
Personally I would go for the Engineered Wood Flooring as it's more resilient, but you will get wear and tear on it so bare that in mind!
Hi mate, so no need for adhesive or nails?
Hi Grant, No none required with this system
No none
Can I cut the skirting and Tuck the wood under it, the same way you can do it with laminate flooring?
Remove all skirting,
Yes that can be down that way if you remove the shirts, cutting them in situ is quite difficult
Yes you certainly can
Are these manufacturing guidelines just specific to the floor you have or apply to any sort of engineered wood flooring?
you'd have to go to the manufacturer for specific guidelines! Cheers

You can do but its not essential, wood can expand and contract depending on temperature/time of the year
Many blessings, very well explained
Many thanks
great video. thank you!!
You're welcome, we're glad you like it!
Your very welcome
Hi
Hi there
Wen u take out the spacers around the edges won’t d floor move and make gaps between the planks then u ave to move em back using duck tape or dubble sided tape wtf am I right or am I just of my head????
So you have a small expansion gap around the sides of the wood because the wood expands and contracts depending on the temperature!
Here are the tools you need, apart from the circular saw. That can just appear magically out of nowhere 😂
You can do it by hand if you wish!

So, no glue and no nails?
Nope! The slats are designed in a tongue and groove style so they just clip together, cheers
Shit hot.
Thanks!
Thank you

Omg to slow. Wrong instalation. U forgot to use glue
I think you'll find not was the right way of installing without glue, check out the manufactures guidelines
