    More About "Neo's Cleaning Service":
Our story follows Tim Bauer, a status-craving young man who is currently competing for promotion against his peers at Neo’s Cleaning Service - a privately-owned cleaning company that specializes in the social and individual cleanup of deceased or recalled citizens who reside within the Greater System. Tim lives in a society where every citizen is told to believe in The Atrium, an elderly utopia where all seniors would be relocated to upon their retirement. In reality, all seniors are secretly abducted and executed by the SSS (the System’s Secret Service) after their retirement or recall date.
On a daily basis, Neo-Cleaners like Tim are dispatched to former residences of senior citizens after their departure to the Atrium, commencing the disposition of their belongings and preparing the home to welcome a younger class of citizens. One day, Tim goes to the house of a recalled senior to perform routine clean-up. However, Tim runs into Paul, an expired senior who is still alive and well. Duty tells Tim to report to Paul to the SSS, but the more Tim learns about Paul and the story of his belongings which are about to be scrapped away, the harder it is for Tim to retain his belief in the System. Little does Tim know that the encounter with Paul is no mistake, as Paul has an unfolding tragedy of his own for Tim to witness; one that would forever change Tim as a person.

Hey guys! This is Floyd, director & writer of Neo's Cleaning Service. Just wanted to say thank you on behalf of my cast & crew for the warm reception that our film has been getting here on Dust. My goal as a filmmaker is to always create stories that we can all reflect upon and by looking at most of our viewers here, it seems like Neo's has been doing just that 🙏 So thank you all again and let's hope that this won't be the last of it! :-)

Sort of reminds me of Logan's Run, similar concept, but there, the expiration age was 30. Also, couldn't help but notice the UV-5R radio in the opening scene (I happen to have one of these). In any case, good story telling, without having to rely on lots of elaborate sets and CGI.

Man, this isn't a story. This is reality. We work hard thinking money, status, retirement is waiting for us. We neglect the people that love us, and run out of time for our parents as we are always too busy to visit. We think "When I make it I will have time for that." Or we just simply imagine that later will be easier for us. Then death reclaims our loved ones in the end. "Later" never comes and we missed the here and now. Love this short. Thank you.

Yes, but what about us, the parents who are 60+? We spent our lives chasing dreams or trying to stay ahead of debts. Now, our children have grown up to live lives separate from ours, continuing the cycle of chasing debts, work life, and childrearing. They, like us, will realize too late that they've missed the opportunity for quality one-on-one time with us, as we are nearing our end. The cycle continues :(

A more crude but more realistic version of Logan's Run. Especially when you consider what happened a couple months ago in Canada when an army veteran requested some of her benefits to make getting around her house easier and the government worker suggested euthanization so she doesn't burden the system. Excellent job.

When the daughter raised the gun to 'recall' her dad, I thought, "Why use a gun? It is messy, there is collateral damage, and noisy. Just subdue and inject him with poison." That thought took maybe a second. Then there was the poignant smashing of the family photo. Fitting. It was a beautiful reboot of the Twilight Zone episode, 'The Obsolete Man'. Kudos to Floyd & his crew for a well-done short. I look forward to your next film.

Excellently produced short film. But more than that it hit hard. My parents are aging and I don't see my dad having more than another 10 years left. It feels like the period of life where they have the least amount going on in their lives is the same period that we, as their kids, have the most going on in ours. Reach out to them. Visit them. Do some things for them to make life easier. It means the absolute world to them to see that their kids still care.

With the alarming rising number of people with dementia if you don't you may regret not spending time with them. Time passes in the blink of an eye. This short film is absolutely brilliant because it shows the crucial dilemma of our society: We work and work to be able to buy the things we think we have to have because society tells us to. In doing so, we forget the people we love and who love us. At some point, these people are no longer there and we ourselves are old and don't even know what we actually lived for.... The only problem is: as soon as someone tells us that this materialistic greed for money and "status" is wrong and that we should focus our lives and our society more on people again, we chase them away as a "left-wing dreamer", "socialist" or "commi"...

Definitely dark, but realistic. The word "recall" reminds me of when a model of car has a design flaw and it's "recalled" to be fixed, or a product that's defective. We all need a "purpose" to live on, and if we don't have it, it runs deep in the psyche.

Once again, an excellent short, solidly acted, and displaying imagination in story-telling far above the derivative crap being churned out by the “Marvel Universe,” and its ilk`
And with a touch of humor.
Why can’t we get writers like this into Hollywood?

Although this concept has been done many times, this is still a very well done version of it. But the special effects really took the center stage, simple yet tasteful and don't look like a video game. This is just an other example that something is seriously wrong with hollywood.
