Vampire man! Sweet. Been so long since we had a video I was starting to think that Craig or a corona zombie had gotten you Mr. Hood!?😳. And to answer your question……no, Craig cannot be helpful😉
Awesome to see the carp gear also my father, brother and myself fish carp spring thru fall up here on the Saint Lawrence river. My brother and dad have both caught a 40lb carp and my biggest is 25lbd 14oz. If you ever make it this far north I would love to fish carp with you
Grate vid but I must say with bite alarms you don't need to see the rod tip or line. The thing you put on ur line is called a bobbin, they are great for lite bites or drop back bites where the carp swim towards you. 😁👍
Hell yea Mark! Great catfish and a great spot! I’ll never forget that big blue out of there from the summer. Congrats on proving Craig wrong again 😂 Tight lines to both of you guys
I would think you could get some monster carp since there usually not a target game fish in the states. Most fishermen I know toss them in the woods no matter how big.
In europe you catch carp more in summer, but I dont think, that there is a tempature limit in Louisiana. In Germany I like to go for carp when the water has about 62-70 degrees Fahrenheit.
In my experience, carp will readily feed in much colder water than the other freshwater fish that I catch. Freshwater striper and stocked trout are the only thing Ive found that like the cold better here in Tx.
That a lot of preparation for a fish that’s not worth catching. If you gets a Catfish out of it then it’s worth it. Which you did. Maybe it’s just me and my Hate for Carp. Sure they fight hard but that’s about all they are worth. Love your videos man keep them coming.
Personally, I really enjoy eating carp out of clean water if they're bled before being iced. They are definitely a lot more work than it's worth to clean and cook if you have more desirable fish around, though.
@@Lone_Star_Outdoors How do you Prepare yours? I had quite a few on the grill. And it was okay. Nothing I must have again. I have a couple of fishing buddies that I run into on the Regular while fishing and they absolutely love eating carp. And they said that they are delicious. Perhaps the way I had it was all wrong. I don’t know.
@@bubbalow7bennyberry90 I do what they call skin shearing, where you cut off the scales while leaving a white membrane/"skin" on the meat, then fillet the meat off of the bones. Then I cut through the bones that lay throughout the meat without cutting through the skin. Then add enough mustard to coat all the individual cuts thoroughly, and shake in a bag of cornmeal breading and fry in hot oil. If the oil is hot enough the bones will essentially disentigrate and you'll be left with strands of delicious "fish potato chips" as I've had friends call them. I want to make a video on the process soon but I've been having too good of luck with striper to worry about cooking a carp, lol
Thanks M. Hood. Watching you makes me feel good. Thank you Sir.
Mornin y’all! That was fun and interesting. Thanks M.Hood! 🐪

This guy is no Louisianian, he's a transplanted Yankee😂😂

Lol, yeah you right. Thanks man.
That was a nice one for sure 👍👍
Wonderful.
When They say “downsize ur baits in the winter”
I wish you would have shown how to hook the corn on the clotted bait ball. I've been thinking about trying this.

There are more fishermen targeting carp in the states then you realize but I understand what you are saying.
That was interesting. Is there a temperature threshold for carp? Does it get too cold

@@Lone_Star_Outdoors Usually summer in germany is more like spring in Texas i guess. 😉
Is Craig your assistant? Kind of seems like you're just telling him what to do all the time, but that's just my observation
Yeah you right😂I think he's the last guy that will fish with him😂
What's your pb catfish, blue or flathead??
that doesnt keep line in grove that tells you if line drops back
It dose both, keeps line on the roller and helps indicate drop back bites.
I watch another fisherman who uses a fake peace corn on the heir rig
