Fishing in the Columbia river is similar. What we do when waves from a vessel come in is we lower our pole tip to the ground or lay rod on the ground and slightly tighten line. After waves stop. Loosen line and return to rod holder. We don’t have sharks but we do have sea lions that are protected.
Do the lions mess with your bait?

I fish at Kimswick port a lot.
I fish north of St Louis on the great river road at elsah IL on the Mississippi. There is a creek that dumps in there great fishing.

@@Digglerdirk79-l4yYa you right. However at the end sides of the delta is a fisherman’s paradise. Only about a hour and 30 minutes from where Mr. Hood resides. Check out the daly posts from Louisiana Charter in shore and offshore fishing.
