In a tragic scene on the outskirts of Jerusalem, Jesus weeps for the people who have seen Him, known Him, witnessed His miracles, heard His teachings, and yet have rejected Him as the Messiah. He weeps for the peace that they will miss and the judgment that they will experience for their refusal to believe. Truth is, God is still brokenhearted for those who don’t recognize Him! How many times and in how many ways has God tried to get your attention? He loves you and wants a relationship with you. Don’t miss the time of God’s coming to you like most Jews did in Jesus’ day.

According to pastor Dave Wilkerson, another reason why Jesus might have wept is because of the lack of faith around Him to bring Lazarus back.

I feel Jesus wept at funeral cause He knows how much His people hurt at the lose of their loved ones - we just don’t understand the fullness of His Glory

JESUS needs not to weep? But he did because we did not listen to him and it hurts when we don't listen. We are to weep to reach him as when you take a baby from the parents. As the world what to take him away from us.
Everything is made by Christ. Nothing is made without Christ.
Jesus looked at the holy city and knew that many of His very own were perishing, yet He could do nothing about it.
Jesus said He could do nothing unless those are the will of the Father.
John 17, Jesus prayed for the disciples. Jesus told the Father that all that were given to Him, He kept them and none was lost. He went on to say to the Father that He wasn't praying for others whom the Father didn't give Him. They were destined for destruction. His very own must die and Jesus could do nothing for them. Jesus could not pray for them knowingly that they were not in the will of the Father.
Jesus felt the pain when He came to His very own, His own didn't recognize Him. His own were perishing before His very eyes, yet He could do nothing for them. This was causing excruciating pain in Christ.
How should we feel when we notice that our love ones also reject Christ as their Savior? It should hurt bad in our hearts. We should have been weeping and weeping for we could also do nothing for our very own.
