    This is all new for me (from N. Ireland). Do you have to add any bonding agent, when overnight bottom pour dries overnight, to enable top pour to join it?

    • @TexasFilipino
      @TexasFilipino  9 дней назад +2

      it's a compression joint it does not need to bond.

    Is a poured wall build really cheaper than block? Of so, by what percentage?

    • @TexasFilipino
      @TexasFilipino  9 дней назад +2

      When we was building the house we stopped and did 8 foot wide by 9.5 foot tall walls one was hallow block and the other cast. The cast wall took 9 bags of portland mix with a strong mix. The block wall with rendering took 21 bags plus you had to buy block. You make 3 different cement mixes for the hallow block. 1 mix for mortar 1 mix for pouring into the voids in the block 1 mix for rendering. The rendering mix is a lot of portland mixed with fine sand. You have to spend time screening the sand. The rendering cracks from heat because the portland is so strong in it. We cast the wall one morning and it was ready to strip the forms the next day. The hallow block wall was still being rendered 2 days later and was nowhere as nice. Plus still needed to have slots cut in for wiring and plumbing which was more work still. NO COMPARISON.

      @TexasFilipino Thanks for your reply. I appreciate that. I'll be going with casting.

    I’m wondering how thick the outside walls are your perimeter walls of your building they must be 6 or 8 inches thick - 🤔

    • @TexasFilipino
      @TexasFilipino  9 дней назад +1

      4 inches if your talking about this current build project. Engineered strength by knowing how to combine 90 degree walls and T walls to gain massive strength and pour your caps in a soild pour to cap it all off. The load these can carry is amazingly strong. Bigger is not always better ( not what she said LOL) How are you Larry?

      @TexasFilipino yeah,I get it,I was a tradie in Australia,plumber,started the trade in imperial then changed to metric,thank christ,its just so much easier and accurate,we still measure surfboards in imperial though, like 6'5"x22"x2 7/8",but the volume in litres 😁

    over watered mixture and cold joints, the integrity of those walls and the appearance will be crap. of course they will skim coat over that mess to try and make it look good. overtime cracks will appear in those walls. construction practices here in PH are the shits, even the government projects like the MRT extension in Manila. They try to overcome the lousy concrete work by using lots of rebar.

    • @TexasFilipino
      @TexasFilipino  9 дней назад +4

      we can have cold joint on top of these walls. as they are compression joints. My house has been here several years and come walk through it top to bottom and find one single crack or line. Also you need some cold joints for earth quakes. In concrete buildings in earthquake zones you place cold joints for slips. They even sell metal pieces to attach to the end of the walls where they meet to better allow slip. I would have never built this house by their methods as I really don't want to be squished flat while sleeping when a quake comes along. LOL. Yes concrete mix weak with too much water. The rendering they do too will make spider cracks everywhere from mixing heavy portland with fine sand. You can skim ocat and paint them 1000 times and the spider cracks will always reappear. This way avoids all of that.

      Shut up. You are a scum. If your allegation is true. We are the most earthquaked and typhooned country in the world, then why there's no bridges or high rise buildings fell in the ground.

      This man is a joke. Accusing MRT buildings as substandard. Hey, a**h**e!, MRT contractors are the following: Sumitomo Corporation and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Inc. Do you have any idea who are they? And you, what's yer trade. Are you more knowledgeable than them?
