Considering the MG had a few more horsepower and definitely better roadholding, the Mazda did remarkably well. By the way, while the MX5's roadholding is typical well-mannered traditional sportscar, i.e you can get the back end out and opposite-lock it (watch the driver's hands on the wheel), the MGF's is typical mid-engine, i.e. it clings to the road like glue until quite suddenly it doesn't. I have been there once, once was quite enough and so I think the MGF's driver in this video was very brave to push the car close to its handling limit. If you have an MGF, put it on Falkens or Toyos!
@@looniegaming9419 The current recommendation is the Falken Ziex ZE310 Ecorun, which replaced the ZE914. I found a set of 914s in good condition with loads of tread left s/h and they have transformed the car. The alloys they are on are in better condition than the ones they replaced too. The car feels far less twitchy and more "planted".
I hope you're right, I'm shelling out almost £400 for toyos and tracking 😂 getting fitted tomorrow can't wait, will hopefully reduce the regularity of near death experiences on late night drives around the peak district
@@condemned7515 mx5 is cunt. driven by cunt. mgf is British engineering at its best and im proud to own one. this aside, mid engine, better power plant and suspension, looks way better. its not even close in any area. mx5 is slow, dull, ugly. like your mum.
@@kylitoooooo You again?! You're still not getting it are you. Okay, let me explain it then. I'm not giving my opinion on either car in my original comment, I'm giving the opinion of the general British motoring press at the time. They derided the MGF, but praised the MX5. I'm then highlighting the difference when the Japanese look at the MGF, as they did so with respect and integrity. I'm British, I daily drive an MG ZT and I'm looking at getting an MGF/TF hence my interest in the video. Now, perhaps leave the internet to the grown ups and come back after puberty, son.
@@gameadventures1 They didn't back then. The MGs you see now are a totally different company from China that bough the rights to the badge. Those things look like GTA NPC cars.
The battle of the decade
LMAO no doubt

The MGF is my only car that wont get an LSD. "until quite suddenly it doesn't" is a very good description.
Falkens or Toyos. Thanks for the advice! Also what Falkens or Toyos would you recommend?

The MG F from 1995-1997 can be legally imported to the US now
Awsome track! This mountain on sides, like from race game track. Thx for upload.
UK Motoring Press: The MGF is okay, but it's no Mazda MX5.
Japan: Respect.
UK people. 'The japs copy everyfhing' much respect to the MGB inspired MGF.

Own 1996 MGF, always a bloody good race car,
Never knew any MG went outside the continent
Technically it went from an island on one side of the continent to the island on the opposite side of the continent.
It always surprised me that it was extremely popular in France of all places! The French have good taste in sports cars apparently!
