One of the only issues I've seen with Elden Ring isn't even Elden Ring itself. It's that annoying vocal minority that feel strongly about their own experiences with the game series. So much that they have to demand others follow the exact playstyle otherwise your experience is invalidated. Weird, inane, unspoken rules that they drop on others like a boss attack. It's so weird that people want agency in how you experience a game. To be clear, these people aren't the worst. The had an experience in these games that they enjoyed so much they want to share it. It strays from sharing to shackling. I've been in and out of your streams since Elden Ring launched and the amount of people trying to direct your experience of the game is nuts.
Yeah, but that seems to be almost every fanbase. Hollow Knight and Undertale are INSANELY fun and cute games but the fanbases will freak out if you don't play how they want you to play. It doesn't make the games bad at ALL... But goddamn it makes me avoid the fanbases, which sucks cuz there's lots of cool people to discover. Same to Elden Ring/the Souls series, I think.
"The had an experience in these games that they enjoyed so much they want to share it. It strays from sharing to shackling." Huh. Thats a REALLY good way to put it. Not just games but a lot of things. Like person x wants person y to have the same really good time at a restaurant they did, so they order for person y and micromanage the entire meal and ruin the experience for person y.
@@punani_slayer4209 Hard agree. When people like something and feel passionately about it, and when that thing becomes really popular its bound to be bad. Smaller, less popular things people feel passionately about are the best imo (in terms of fan bases) Im a big manga fan. One Piece (maybe my favorite), Naruto and Dragon Ball are awesome and have SHIT fanbases. Smaller stuff like Kengan is awesome and has amazing fanbases. Or like compare the current Elden Ring crowd to the Demons Souls crowd. How many people are telling Demon Souls players that magic is OP or the wrong way to play the game? You can two shot bosses with spells in both games, but only in Elden Ring was "magic OP, needs nerf, not a real Souls player if you use magic, etc. etc." Or go on any forum for a popular game vs a non popular game. I think its just more popular means more people, more people means more idiots/jackasses, more idiots/jackasses means worse fanbase. Best (worst) example imo was Monster Hunter pre/post World. Fanbase completely changed (probably because it grew like quadruple the size lol), went from pretty civil, fair, "everybody shares/gets a turn picking the hunt" to toxic, taking all the items, hiding in camp expecting teammates to solo bosses, people getting carried through the game and ending up in quests where theyre LITERALLY useless (cant harm the monster and get one shot), toxic call outs, bad sportsmanship, intentional messing with carving, intentionally messing with players like cancelling rides with flashes and more. Builds (NEW META!!!!) got totally swapped to like mega DPS shit that everyone copy pasted and theyd get one shot by new monsters, then go on twitter or reddit or wherever and complain how bullshit the new monster was because their copy paste build wasnt good against it. Steam reviews were flooded negatively after new bosses that were "too hard" (despite much harder bosses existing in older games players didnt know about). Shit was nuts. Dont want to straight up say the fanbase was ruined but... its not the same as it used to be at all.
I feel like the sorcery version of this spell is at least a little bit more balanced by comparison. It's still kinda nuts how much damage it does, but it also feels a lot more justified there because of the massive commitment that goes towards casting it (both in stats and in actual start-up lag).
@@TenebrusI07 Yeah, but only if you can actually hit it and keep hitting it. All it takes is the boss moving just a tiny bit during or after the cast animation for the whole thing to whiff (which happens like 95% of the time I go for that). It's still absurdly strong, don't get me wrong, but against any boss that actually moves and punishes long commitments, the sword is way more of a free win. It's faster and costs so little FP that you risk next to nothing for throwing it out, which more than makes up for it not doing as much damage.

Panic roll is exactly why I find this game so much more difficult than DS games. Almost every enemy has a pause in attacks so if you go from DS to Elden Ring, it's a nightmare learning the timing.
I love how From Software manages difficulty in their games. Instead of making an arbitrary difficulty option menu detached to the actual experience they imbed the type of difficult experience you want to have through combat systems and content. It is truly the way it should be
honestly I don't think they got it right at all. Not because it is too difficult or too easy, because it is inconsistent. There have been several times I have struggled with a zone, killed the boss and moved on to the next zone and then had basically no issue in an area where you have to go through a more difficult zone to get to it in the first place. The scaling is just not dialed in right at all. Some bosses likewise feel like absolute units while others are pushovers, sometimes within the same area. Some bosses I hit them for 700 and it chunks their health bar while other I tickle for 700 when they are two bosses in the same dungeon. It just feels...off. Enemy posture is also inconsistent. I like me some colossal weapons and generally those take 3-4 jumping heavy attacks relatively close together to stagger bosses but sometimes they just. won't. stagger. The game really would have benifited from a posture indicator like sekiro since it is such a vital part of combat this time around. Feels awkward just guessing how close to staggered they are or how fast their posture is recovering when they are not giving you any openings to land a hit.
@@callumrichard392 did you even read what I said? No dude that isn't the root of inconsistency the entire game is inconsistent when it comes to combat. But as to your comment, no dude literally the same boss will take different number of hits to stagger and my ass is aggressive as hell to the point of trading damage in order to keep the posture from recovering. For that specifically the game needs some indicator that an enemy is near breaking. It can be subtle, slightly slower attacks, heavy breathing, a limp when in "ok imma just walk around a bit" mode, etc.
I kinda dont like how inconsistent the Caelid bosses are. You'll have a pushover that drops 91000 souls then one dungeon later youll find a boss 50x harder that gives 7100 souls. Or youll one shot a boss that couldnt even tickle you, and next boss one shots you. Also I feel too OP almost. Like Im exploring too much but... whats the solution there? Die more? Dont explore? idk. this is one version of easy mode, but the other is mohgwyn’s sacred spear. its weapon skill has giant aoe, insane damage, and it procs bleed. not to mention the weapon itself does good poise damage and pretty quick attacks. another ‘easy mode’ could be considered the ancient dragon’s lightning strike incantation on basically any large boss, but it’s in farum azula, so not really an option for most of the game. i’d also definitely say the black flame tornado aow, but again, it’s in farum azula.

Lol it's the opposite for me. Radahn took me over two hours, and I comfortably second tried Godrick. Only died at the first try because of a stupid greedy mistake I made when going in for the finish
This game needs a boss rush mode where you fight all bosses (repeats included) in order of when from soft expects you to encounter them, you will have your flasks refilled and your items refilled if you have more in storeage but other than that you get no help at all during it unless you summon before the boss rush starts.
I have played this game for around 4 days now, I love it so much. There is so much detail in the world, for a example I remember encountering a sleeping bear, a white wolf and a gray wolf on a rock watching their pack run around them… It’s just wow, I have never seen this much detail since red dead 2 (it has less detail then red dead but still a lot to kinda be considered)
And the sense of scale in this open world is just ridiculous. I was really mesmerized when I had climbed to the rooftops of the academy. Here I was on top of a massive castle that was built on top of a massive platue, I could barely see the ground, and yet looking out on the beautiful horizon other massive structures and landmarks in the distance and the almighty erd tree towering over EVERYTHING. I seriously hope we are able to scale that tree. I would love to see the view from the top of the world
I just beat the dual tree sentinels last night and it was kinda tough. I didn’t watch the stream (sadly) but if you beat them you get a dope Shield that shoots holy shit idk it’s weird. But you have to have it in his right hand that’s why I don’t use it. I could be wrong but idk.
If you’re going to heal you gotta watch the move set and know when they stagger themselves a little bit and dodge and try to buffer a heal but don’t spam or you’ll get fucked
there’s so many patterns, so many different movies all strung together in unpredictable ways. this game is the epitome of what From Software has learned over the years and i am absolutely here for it
Elden ring is the most accessible soulsborne game and does not need an easy mode. I truly feel like most players can get into this game and complete it if they utilize summons and pick a sorcery based class. So many OP weapons can be found in this game which can ez carry u
Sorcery is definitely not the way to go for a first time player, I feel like it's only very good to experienced players. Sure there are some bosses you'll ruin with magic regardless of skill level, but there are some that have really powerful counters to ranged builds, and a new player who has only been using ranged is not going to have a good time with that, while a more experienced mage will be able to adapt.
@@RaylaEclipse From my own experiences, I have a friend who is super casual in gaming and wanted to try Elden Ring. She has never played any soulsborne games and just knows it's hard.
I've been in and out of your streams since Elden Ring launched and the amount of people trying to direct your experience of the game is nuts.
true. Definetly one of the worst fanbases out there imo
@@punani_slayer4209 terrible statement
"The had an experience in these games that they enjoyed so much they want to share it. It strays from sharing to shackling."
Huh.
Smaller, less popular things people feel passionately about are the best imo (in terms of fan bases)
Im a big manga fan.
Yeah but once you have it, game is essentially over, you can mix an unlimited FP Physick and melt just about any boss while its active.

@@ShiningDarknes Some bosses have certain weapons types that they are weak to. This could be the root of you inconsistency problem.
Die more? Dont explore? idk. I think they absolutely did the best they could but balancing a game like this seems too hard.

I recommended a sorcery and summoning build and the game does get a lot easier. She was able to beat Margit and Tree Sentinel after some exploring and grinding. She killed them after not too many tries (like 6-10) and continues to do pretty well. Sorcery and summons definitely make the game more accessible which I personally really like.
@@anthonyargueta131 Interesting, as a Soulsborne vet who normally is pure melee, I decided to go spellsword in Elden Ring for my first playthrough.
