Let me use this opportunity to bring awareness to the oppression of Tibetans. No, I am not talking about the Tibetans in China. I am talking about Tibetans in occupied South Tibet, which was annexed by India in 1951 and made a state by India in 1987 to become the so-called Arunachal Pradesh. South Tibet includes Tawang, birthplace of the Sixth Dalai Lama and home to the four hundred years old Tawang Monastery. The Tibetans in occupied South Tibet are fast becoming strangers in their own native homeland because the Indian government is settling Indians in the region to change the demographic structure of the region. The Indians like to mock them, calling them Chinese as a form of insult (sometimes calling them names such as the C* word or the M* word.) Rape by Indians in occupied South Tibet is a major source of resentment of the locals to the Indian occupiers. Another thing is that India simply doesn't trust the locals and likes to accuse them of being Chinese spies if they don't display enough loyalty to the Indian occupier. This area is tightly controlled by India with limited access to the outside world. In 2014 a Tibetan Chinese called Nido Tania went to Delhi and was beaten to death because he looked 'Chinese'. His case was hardly an isolated one. Rape by Indians is a major source of tension in South Tibet against India. Today South Tibet is restless, and India knows it. This is the reason AFSPA (Armed Force Special Powers Act) is imposed on South Tibet. AFSPA dates back to colonial times when the British were running South Asia. AFSPA gives India the power to detain or kill anyone with impunity. AFSPA is imposed on regions India deemed 'disturbed,' such as Kashmir and South Tibet. The Tibetans in occupied South Tibet are voiceless people because they are not the right kind of Tibetans, so their plight is ignored by the world at large. I have yet to hear from the Western media of any concern about human rights abuse of the Tibetans in occupied South Tibet by India. Free South Tibet from India.

Glory to chairman Mao and the People’s Liberation Army for liberating Xizang from the feudal serfdom system. Glory to the patriots, liberators, revolutionaries and workers of Xizang for abolishing slavery. Chairman Mao brought collective unity to the motherland as well as equality to the masses.

The Dalai Lama, before his much acclaimed "escape" to India, lived in luxury in his Potala Palace in Lhasa. His worldly possessions included "8,000 kg of gold [worth about $720 million US dollars in today's terms], 5 million kg of silver [worth about $5.0 billion US dollars in today's terms], 20,000 pieces of jewelry, and more than 10,000 items of expensive silk and fur clothing." His family "owned 27 manors, 30 areas of pasture, and 6,000 serfs".
Not exactly the Hollywood image of piety and non-attachment that he magically acquired later on in the West!

Buddhist monks are supposed to be devout buddhists whom had resolved and pledged their life in pursuing enlightenment whole heartedly. Such vows are made during the inauguration of monkhood. Hence they must observe the strict 250+ rules as guidance to the enlightenment path.
The rules prohibit any engagement in worldly issues esp. politics, biz, monetary, immoral + unwholesome activities (such as idolisation, superstition, charging fees for prayers service, fortune telling) etc.
Any knowledgeable Buddhist can easily sense these monks in the video (also the overwhelming majority of monks in present world) FAILED to abide by the rules, their own oath. Isn't it shameless, no different from scammers?

I still doubt Dalai Lama fled under his own will. While his power would be greatly reduced but the safety and comfort of him and his family would be guaranteed. He was in his twenties and Tibet had a tradition assassinating young Dalai Lamas by the regents.
The people really wanted to rebel were the nobles because their privileges were taking away. Of course they were promised financial support and given refugee status by the CIA, MI6, and India government.

It's easy to make treaties when your military is occupying the people agreeing to something. Contracts done under duress aren't accepted in courts, why would you accept them in this case?
If you want to see what real autonomy is, google Åland islands and see the autonomy provided for the local people. There is nothing like that anywhere where PRC claims autonomy exists.
All the arguments you can make for Tibet as part of China, you can make Hong Kong as part of UK. Yet China says Hong Kong was a colony and needed to be returned. Yet Tibet doesn't merit same thinking. Funny that.

I have supported a lot of Chinese legitimate interests in the world against the western narratives but when it comes to this, I can say HH Dalai Lama was a very practical and realist being. Chinese gotta accept that everything communists did those days were not right.

Free Sikkim from nepali immigrants and Indian colonisers . Sikkim has more in common with Xinjiang than it ever did with India. Sikkim was a tribute paying vassal to Koshut khanate and Qing dynasty . The British colonisers brought these nepali immigrants to cause ruckus and later the indians colonised and annexed the monarchy in 1975. Free Sikkim from India
