Gemma's energy is infectious. She's got the type of personality that makes an extravert look like a shut-in. You guys are so much fun to watch. Thank you both for allowing us in to your lives. :)
Yall truly are amazing lol. It's crazy to think how much work you have put in already and how much rot you have replaced already, it really paints a scary picture of just how close that ship was to the end, now it's gaining strength and beauty as each week passes.
I am shocked at how the old beams are all cobbled together. Guess the shotty workmanship is part of the reason why you have the problems that you are correcting now. This is going to be fantastic when it's finished, you guys are doing it right!
Well, let's have a look.... Gemma got her top off She got excited She went all the way Gemma & Simon went to bed I'm sure there were even more innuendos in 18 minutes than Round the Horn managed in thirty minutes
No surprise to me, an old boat repairer, to see those old roof beams whacked, slacked and shat in place. The new beams look awesome Simone, you're doing a smashing job!
You guys are amazing for taking on such a project. As a marine engineer, naval officer and former merchant mariner, I must also tell you that you're killing me! A vessel does not have a roof! In the UK, it is called a deckhead vs. the US where it is called the overhead. You did a fantastic job on the the deck beams and the curvature of said beams is called deck camber or just camber. Also, a boat or ship doesn't have walls! They are called bulkheads. Lastly, the vessel doesn't have stairs. They are called either a ladder or a companionway. Keep up the good work.
Sarinda is getting a new lid , those beams are looking very sound indeed. It's truly amazing just how much rot there was and how mixed and matched the older beams were. Awesome job you guys , Sarinda is going to look like the Queen of the Ball when she sets sail.
I'm so glad the weather co-operated for this important work. I had my fingers crossed for you. All that careful prep work you did is really paying off. It was great to see those first sturdy, painted beams fit in so perfectly. Well done Team Robins/Robbo!
The further you get into this project, the more obvious that the “yacht” conversion in the 80’s was a complete crap job. It certainly wasn’t done by any legitimate shipyard. You’re doing this the right way. Take it down to the good bones, and build it back soundly. It’s like the old saying, “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time”.
as much as i hate painting i don't let my wife paint either, because every time i do i end buying new carpet or laminate or whatever my wife spills a gallon on. i feel your pain. great work. been following since the beginning and i can't wait to see you guys take 'er out mr. robbins
Thank you both so very much I am 61 and with all the just horrible things they post I am glad I found you. Much love west coast USA. P.s. our weather is the same
Great progress! Been following you all since stumbling onto the first or maybe second episode. The little father/daughter sailboat project is my favorite. Just a word about the opening montage. in the US where I'm from, or here in Western Australia where I've been for a decade, if you spell out "HELP" on a vehicle (particularly a beached boat or a vehicle off road,) you will attract Emergency Services and hopefully ordinary good Samaritans trying to, well, help. I have no idea if that's the case in England, but it probably isn't a great idea to leave that up for very long if you don't mean it. I'm sure you didn't and it did make me smile, but its a distress signal and something people should know about. Cheers from sunny Oz, and keep up the great work! You've made so much more progress than I think even you could have imagined. Its a pleasure to watch your journey, even the butt crack at 4:25, which is very likely the best yet...
@@ShipHappensUK That's because you are transferring energy to your boat which is getting further and further away from the scrapheap. But your energy reserves will soon recover! Power to you all!
What a monumental project! It must seem totally overwhelming! I know I would feel that way! But your crew has the best of attitudes, and I just know you will finish it! Its looking fantastic so keep up the good work!
Truly an epic effort lots of unseen detail always to be done, but that’s what will make it so rewarding when finished, would love to visit and bring something that’s needed ?
I'm glad you got a bit of Spanish sunshine, at least it has allowed you to tackle that big task of removing the old roof to install the new one, it's great. Guys, good luck with the task, all my support from Madrid, you are doing a great job!
What you're doing is amazing. The task you've set yourselves is a huge one but going by all you've achieved so far, I'm confident you'll reach your destination.
WOW what an AMAZING Transformation !! And as you and other people have pointed out the amount of rotting is shocking!! I think you caught her JUST in time ! Do you think she would have lasted much longer ? I suspect that given the money and the time would you have ripped the sides off as well or are they all sound ? CANT WAIT TO SEE THE NEXT VID !! Great work Robbo and the rest of you guys for helping these wonderful people RESPECT X
Looking good guys. Nice fit up on your beams. I kept looking at all that wiring hanging around and just wanted to rip it all out and start over....(I'm a electrician, so yeah, it bothers me 😁) With modern lighting and reduced power requirements I'm sure half of it could go away... Keep it up, looking good... And Gemma, Simon kicks paint over on purpose. It's a good ploy, I've been doing it for years. I hate to paint...😉
I'm amazed at the ridiculous amount of shoddy workmanship you are uncovering. If this is how the work was done in the original yacht upgrade the "yard" or "ship builder" that did the work should be shut down if they haven't failed already. You are fantastic Simon and Gemma! Great work so far! I'm so waiting to see the end result! Best wishes from Northern California.
@@ShipHappensUK That of course is total Bollocks and you know it. You are the tops, the best professionals Sarinda has ever seen. Whoever these "some people" are they should hang their heads in shame. More But cracks will follow soon.
I'm sorry it's been so long since I've text or wrote a message I so enjoy watching you two work you guys are doing an amazing job I'm glad to see you have people that help that are really helpful I'm so happy for you guys your ship's going to be amazing I truly appreciate your van bills too they are wonderful
Is good to see demo and rebuilding progress at the same time..keeps the spirits up and the project going..nice job..and looks like your still enjoying it. Nice job on the beams !
Hi Guys, WoW! I don't know how that roof stood up to the storms we had earlier in the year in that condition, I really admire your work ethic tackling this huge task, Makes for great viewing so thank you for these videos, Highly entertaining.

Love the demo shirt. “I’m here to break sh*t.” And, Simon: “I like big boats and I cannot lie…” 😉
Hi I'm Simon and I like boats..........LOL Good one. A lot of hoovering on that one. Good job guys.
The more enthusiastic Gemma gets the harder it is to decipher the accent. Lol. Looking good on the roof trusses Simon. Good planning.

I know the web frames are important but I've been waiting a long time for you to do that roof and it looks superb. Bring on Part 2.
I am shocked at how the old beams are all cobbled together. Guess the shotty workmanship is part of the reason why you have the problems that you are correcting now. This is going to be fantastic when it's finished, you guys are doing it right!
Good on Luke for making time to come and see what Sarinda was like in the flesh/wood/mud! Safe journey back home.
Thanks :) it was great to get out there and Sarinda in the flesh
You two are an inspiration to all watching ! Love what you are doing 👍🏴🍻🍻
Well, let's have a look....
Gemma got her top off
She got excited
She went all the way
Gemma & Simon went to bed
I'm sure there were even more innuendos in 18 minutes than Round the Horn managed in thirty minutes

Can always count on Gemma for the Hovering and painting. Nice to see the blue skies
You are having to much fun!!!! Thanks for the laughs and humorous video. It's a great test of your courage.

no, they are not doing it the right way. the Boat needs to come out of the water for a proper survey first.
I will add, I love these two have great enthusiasm, and they work very hard. before you throw one back,
nice to see the beautiful gemma and simon still smiling. cannot wait for episode 2.
Not long to wait till the next one, hope your well Peter xx
Thanks for letting us join you on your lovely great work 🤠

Looks like a lot of work to add a sunroof to the boat... Looking great!
Excited to see the next episodes....looking good so far.
I’m made up for you two. Both of you are doing a brilliant job. The boat will be a beauty when finishing. And them roof beams were shocking.
Very much the spectacle to watch, I can't keep from paying attention to this dragon you are slaying!
Man those roof beams horrible. 🍻🍻🍻👌looking good
Strange! You're getting forward yet upwards or maybe downwards. I guess thats what's called progress.
Just like eating a bluberry!
Love you'r vlogs!
So happy to have seen the Sarinda in the flesh :), I will endeavour to return once I am in the UK once again!
Thank you so much for coming to visit Luke, safe travels home x
