@AMPRO Engineering they're superhero trucks in 2023. It's as if superman is driving them. It's exploitation of the customers. The customers were allowed to be lunatics for 40 years.
For the interested: Heavy duty aluminum foil. Form it over the outside of other cars with your hands to make "molds" of the other cars. Trim the now formed foil cars out roughly with scissors. You now have cars you crush with small RCs like the one in the video. Once they get crushed up a bit, simply press them over the original car to reshape them. Have fun!
Oh, also forgot. If you find the vehicle you're using to crush them is too heavy, fill the foil cars with crinkled newspaper or something to make them slightly more rigid. Helps a ton when you find you're just squishing the foil cars too easily.
I actually had a toy as a kid that had cars you could mold in foil that had printed images of cars and a monster truck that would go over them. I had ordered some foil about a week ago but I needed to get this video out.
Awesome idea! The wife is gonna be pissed I used up all the aluminum foil and 3 rolls of paper towels to make molds and packed them with all that paper towels... Lol Honestly though, thanks for the idea. I've got a 1/24 scale car that is perfect for the mold. 🍻❤️🖖
You can 4 wheel steer swamp these easily with stock parts all you need is the steering hubs, steering components, servo & servo mount and also a servo wire extension
My 4 year old absolutely loves his and the slow speed really helps him learn to steer properly etc. I'm really tempted to add oil to the shocks though!
One additional feature to the radio that oftentimes gets missed is the ability to change drag brake percentage. I THINK by default it comes preset at 25%. Here's how you change drag brake settings: - Turn both the truck and the radio on - Double-click the "REV" button on the radio. You should see the green LED start blinking. - Choose your desired drag brake setting: - ST (-) = 25% - ST (+) = 50% - TH (-) = 75% - TH (+) = 100% - After selecting desired drag brake setting, double-click "REV" button again and LED should stop blinking and be solid.
WTF? Really!? Man i had no idea. I will add that to the next installment on this car. I was blown away how few people mentioned the oil shocks so I thought I had something there! haha! Thank you!
-I had not felt interested in these smaller scale RCs, at least until you started featuring them. I've recently bought two because you have been raving on them. 1st EAZYRC X FMS 1/12 Toyota FJ45 RC Pick-up Truck. And second RocHobby 1/12 RC Crawler KOMMANDEURWAGEN Type 82E. So far I'm impressed. Thanks for making me rethink these vehicles!!! I had not considered anything smaller than 1/10th scale.
Nice liuttle truck. I do want one. I like the die cast models you have there too. Very cool. I once set up a set of old 80's Kyosho shocks by putting just enough oil in them to cause drag. Anything more and they just locked up.
Thank you! Almost all of those 1/24 cars are in for restoration. I have a thing for italian sedans and almost all of them were on ebay for next to nothing but they have missing parts, bent axles, nasty wheels and tires....Ill to a build on those too! Yeah, sometimes these shocks work best with less oil. I have some on my FMS cars and it's the same with those.
Picked up one at a nearby Hobby Town. Battery holder is a really thin o-ring. And the battery has a dead cell. I've replaced the receiver/esc with a Futaba receiver and a Hobbywing 1625. Put an SCX24 battery on top of the rear frame. Snug fit but it's good. Now waiting on servo pins to change the servo connectors. Still trying to decide on J Concepts or Mofo tires
I think this is the V1 version. Surprised you had a dead cell as I have like 8 of those batteries and found them to be good. Maybe yours was just sitting too long .
Awesome review and tutorial for the shocks! Hey! I just got my K5 and I see the smasher also comes with 4 metal washers in the o-ring bag . What are those for?
Here is a idea. Take the body from the 1:24 Lunchbox. Take the gearbox from the FMS, along with the wheels and tires and make a 1:24 scale Lunchbox chassis so you end up with a scale 1:24 Lunchbox 🙂
@@AMPROEngineering I have one, definitely lexan. Seems short for that chassis though. I actually do 1/32 lunchbox builds from the wild mini series on either a crawler chassis or a modded stock chassis. There's probably a dodge van model kit that might work for 1/24 though
Can *easily* put wider tiers on there. Mofo, Injora, and JConcepts all have better scale tires that are directly compatible and are slightly taller and about twice as wide for a better scale appearance. And they don't impact the turning radius at all with zero rubbing. It feels *SO* much better with those tires swapped
Notice how your monster truck is supposed to weigh over 300kg. Nobody remembers that you're supposed to add weight to complete the scaled down look. So you'll need to add 1kg in weight.
As soon as I get my taxes back I'm going to use some of it to buy me one of these. Wanted it when it was V1 and glad to see it back. The tweazers you used to install the o rings. Where can I get a pair from? I had such a time trying to install o rings on my SCX24's worm gear diff that if I had these it would have been a lot easier.
I want a pair of these for me and the boy.. I’ve got the Kyosho usa-1 and he’s got the Traxxas Bigfoot so I’d get the USA and put a c10 model body on it and he’d get Bigfoot..
On the RC4wd truck you have a roll bar is that available. I have one that i would love to put that on. Plus AMT makes a few van bodies that might work.
That thing looks like it's worth it's wait in gold!😂 did I see that thing pop a wheelie on take off in that one Slowmo Clip?😂 I'm rolling. That thing looks like it's a blast!
@@AMPROEngineering I know, after watching your video, I ordered the white USA 1 edition. I am having a blast with it and my ferrets love it as well. Are you thinking of any Shapways upgrades for this? Asplenia.
this is what I have been hoping TAMIYA would come out with for decades, maybe in the name of CW02, but tamiya is disappointing as always. But the sivlerlining is that the truck is made by China RC brand. Tamiya eat dirt !
Totally agree on old school original monster trucks vs the new stunt trucks.. monster trucks when we were kids were real trucks
That's the truth! I have zero interest in what they are now.

It did seem like that would be an easy mod!

My 4 year old loves this one too! The oil shocks have always worked well and amazingly do not leak!
I used some Vaseline once on my shock threads when I didn’t have anything else around and I haven’t looked back. No leaks.🤙🏼
This is an outstanding idea.
I was thinking about using silicone grease , did you just coat the shaft or pack it in the shock body? Thanks
@@Benelli1989 Should be fine, all the grease does is prevent o ring damage then fill with silicone shock oil as usual.
@@JDMJDKoh ok I misread your comment I thought you meant you used it in place of shock oil for dampening.

I was right with you. I thought that the smaller ones were the ones I was ok with as a kid but now I am just in love. This thing totally blew me away.
Cool little truck! Liked the little die-cast Fiat sedan with the yellow rims!
Thank you! That actually just came in. That is a vintage Bburago Fiat Regata. Been looking for one a while.
@AMPRO Engineering that's it, a Regatta couldn't quite remember the sedan versions name! That was also called the Regatta here in the UK!

I think this will be my next one !!!! Another GREAT Video !!!! Reminds me of when I would visit and you would show me all kinds of cool RC stuff !!!
You are welcome any time! I located some more monster truck sized wheels and tires and they look so good on this. The truck is awesome
