Ok - so I had this issue and I finally buckled down and ordered my cable after watching your video. Oh it gave me a hiccup and had to go purchase another plastic clip. And putting that plastic cover back in gave me the blues. So I stopped and watched the video again. But I’m happy - I can open my door again. Thanks for making this video, So Appreciative 😊😊😊
This was super helpful! Thank you so much! I am always apprehensive about pulling parts and panels out of vehicals because all of the fasteners are hidden secrets. My issue was not a broken cable, but simply a detached cable that I had to put back into place. But the panel disassembly information was invaluable! Thanks again!
The price to pay is the music and sound effects, however the cost was reasonable considering the help you provided in this exact replacement I had to do. Thanks for the video!!!!
I've always wondered what it would be like to repair a car in the middle of Disneyland and this video not only helped me replace my actuator it confirmed my decision to leave my children and wife in the middle of town town and never go back again...
My latch cable fail and kept having to open the door from the outside. They want way too much for a new one plus I don't trust the crimped ends so i just used 316 stainless steel tig filler rod alittle thinner than a close hanger wire and cut it to the length of the cable and bent a hook on both ends. You'll never have to deal with it again because the rod won't break and there's no need for crimping any end fittings.
Very helpful. On mine there's a screw BEHIND the white piece of plastic that takes a right angle tool. 2007 Kia Spectra. Mine broke at the door handle but the cable would still move a little.
I can't get the white cable holder out to access it feels like a strong spring is stopping it moving towards the access hole. Ten minutes after writing that, I just noticed the black rubber cable holder poking out the face of door. I pushed it in and solved the problem!
I just did this to my car and man it was pain!😫 and I have not put it together yet.. so here I go I am about to fix it in the next couple min after I finish watching this. Thanks for the video
Almost exactly a year later, mine broke once again. I had one of those little plastic clips need replacing last year and I got lucky that a mechanic at the local dealership had one in his box that he gave me. So, I notice that in your video you have a white clip. Did you buy that with the new cable or did it come with the cable? If so, could you post the part link or tell me where to get the clip? Thanks in advance!
If you can't get the actuator released because the metal rods connected to it, follow the rod up and unclip it by the bottom of the window. They have little holes and clamps just like the cable does. I was stuck there. The rest is simple.
🛑🚨PROCEED WITH CAUTION BEFORE FOLLOWING THIS VIDEO🚨🛑 I can say only one good thing about this video, which there is only one thing,is that it helped guiding, but he left out very important steps to make it seem like a easy do it yourself video, and added in ridiculous music to make it seem like a piece of cake, it wasn't, some key parts of the car had to be manipulated with to try to get into some nooks and crannies that we're vital to fixing the car, what shouldve been easy turned into a nightmare, just please proceed with caution
oh. Window rolled UP might make this process easier.... Thanks for the video! I think this is the last Kia I buy. So many stupid things break that never broke on my Toyota.
I have an '06 Spectra and this video is insufficient to use as a repair guide. As many have stated, there is a third screw behind the white plate that is being replaced at 4:47. Worst of all is that installing the door side cable end, at 5:13, is virtually impossible due to a lack of space. The creator totally skips over that operation. Finally, he unscrews a bolt unnecessarily at 3:36 - one does need to unscrew the bolt lower down, but not the one he is showing at 3:36. To be fair, this is not the first time I've tried to work on an '06 Spectra door and found it much more difficult than videos concerning the doors on the '05 or '07 models. I don't know why Kia made the '06 doors so much more difficult to work on.
I was working to remove the white part of the locking mechanism so I could get to the cable to replace it. I couldn't even get a screw driver to fit there to unscrew it, do you have any suggestions? Once I got it free from the tab restraints, there wasn't enough wiggle room to get a screw driver to the screws. Thanks.
Wish I had known cables were out there. I am doing the passenger door today and may just take the cable out of the new actuator that was difficult to locate. Even the Kia parts system wouldnt list the part and I sell auto parts for a major retailer.
This video is like 60% helpful. Some steps were missed, like the cable clips on the panel. My lock mechanism has a 3rd screw on the backside, not just the two on the front white plastic piece. Getting the new cable into the lock mechanism in such a crowded space is extremely difficult more time should’ve been spent on offering tips on how to do this. Personally I found the music and especially the sound effects extremely frustrating and distracting. Again I wish more time was spent offering tips throughout the whole procedure rather than trying to make the video cute. If you’re going to make a how to do please make it a thorough. at this point it makes me just want to drive to the mechanic and have him finish the job
@@axlem.6977 Same with me. I can't get the back screw off and don't have any idea how to do it. If you read this and figured it out, please let me know, I'd appreciate it.
I finally got the 3rd screw out. Had to buy a 90 degree adapter for my drill. Good luck getting it back together. The music wouldn’t be so bad if the video was better, but when you’re frustrated because all of the hard parts are skipped, you get stuck listening to the same parts over and over...and you’ll want to kill the next person who walks by.
Than you, very much needed. I think I can do this. Is the cable actually broken, can not be fixed? I have a 2008 Kia Spectra do you know the part number?
That white thing on the locking mechanism inside of the door has another screw on the backside that is almost impossible to get to that you skip over in this video. You just show the 2 screws on the front side that are easy to get to, I wish it was this easy. Putting the new wire inside of the door latch mechanism is extremely difficult, borderline impossible because of the tight space and no where to fit tools or fingers, you just skip that part also.
Great video but that music though... ☹☹ There was one screw you were missing from that white piece. On my car there was 3 screws, one you unscrew from front then one from the back of the black plastic assembly. I have to find a small angle philips screw driver to get back there otherwise I'll break the black plastic or white piece to get it off.
Be nice if you included link for plastic fastener, but that's just me, I'll find it, had to turn down the 30-'s Music, my god man...but thanks for video..
this was helpful....although the sound effects and music made me hate you
Same
Agree
On god 💯
💯
Big big big facts

How about you not do audio effects in the future.
No
Boo
Lmao 🤣
I agree... It's a good video but lord those sound effects about killed me 🤦🏼♀️
1 million % NO sound effects next time!!
Great video, exactly what I needed. Not sure about all of the sound effects, but I can't argue with your knowledge and results. Thanks!
Getting the cable put in is insane.
Thank you! I have a 2007 Spectra and this video was a great help!
My latch cable fail and kept having to open the door from the outside. Dealing with the same thing. His video didn’t show that screw behind the white piece. A stubby screwdriver will get it.
I can't get the white cable holder out to access it feels like a strong spring is stopping it moving towards the access hole. Ten minutes after writing that, I just noticed the black rubber cable holder poking out the face of door. I pushed it in and solved the problem!
THANKS for that breakdown!!!...really helped me. Dealer wanted $300...I kinda liked the music too....fun and upbeat.
I just did this to my car and man it was pain!😫 and I have not put it together yet.. so here I go I am about to fix it in the next couple min after I finish watching this. Thanks for the video
The sounds in this video damn near give me a brain aneurism..
@4:50 You really should have mentioned there is a third screw hidden on the back side of the white cover piece....
Excellent step by step removal and installation of interior door handle cable. Thank you.
Almost exactly a year later, mine broke once again. I had one of those little plastic clips need replacing last year and I got lucky that a mechanic at the local dealership had one in his box that he gave me.

What was the musician playing
Love the amount of time put in the video. Plus it was helpful
Thank you, just finished fixing door. Video helped 100 %.👍

Thanks for the help! But I almost jumped out of the window because of your sound effects.
Everyone complaining about the music and sound effects, hell I Liked them.

What happens when I can’t take the actuator out because door is closed and door won’t unlatch
I think I might own your Kia now I just replaced the door handle that had tape around it in the exact orientation
oh. Window rolled UP might make this process easier.... Thanks for the video! I think this is the last Kia I buy. So many stupid things break that never broke on my Toyota.
Good video, my car is a 2005 KiA spectra ex, I need the info on the cable so I know what to order, thank you!

@donl9571 I have a 2007 and it's working my last good nerve. I'd hate to think there's something even worse out there. You have my sympathies.
Thanks.
Valerie Miller yeah it's attached to the door handle rods. You'll have to fiddle with it. Getting the cable back in the clip was difficult
Zahar Kulgavyy thanks
Any suggestion on how to do that when the door just wont open from either side?
What year is this Spectra?
What type of screw is it behind the white piece????
Wish I had known cables were out there. I am doing the passenger door today and may just take the cable out of the new actuator that was difficult to locate. Even the Kia parts system wouldnt list the part and I sell auto parts for a major retailer.

@@axlem.6977 Same with me. I can't get the back screw off and don't have any idea how to do it. If you read this and figured it out, please let me know, I'd appreciate it.
Hey did you guys ever get that third screw out????
@@efrainmartinez6278 Nope

My brain wants to turn the volume up to hear your words, but my body wants to never hear anything again.
Should the window be up or down when I do this. Or does it matter? I guess it looks like u have it up so I'll go with that.
Keep the window up....
I love the noises !!

Cool video but I think it needed a little more sound effects.
Thanks a bunch! Made my life easier and I appreciate that
hi sir can you show us vapor canister kia spectra repair or replacement
Are the cables for drivers and passenger side the same?
Yes. The handles are in the same place (same distance from locking mechanism), so the cables are the same.
I hope you guys are using the internet to get these car parts for cheep
Thanks for the video. This will help save me a lot of money!
This is very helpful. I liked the music too
Would this process work on a 2006 Sportage?
Didn't mention the screw on the back side that had to be removed before the white peice would come off.
Thanks bro, it helps a lot!
I think I'll need to replace my eardrums after listening to this madness.
Good job👍, 👎👎sound effects.
I used to love this song
We need more "how-to" videos with sound effects in our life, thanks for the help!
What's the part number of the cable?
i LOVED THE SOUND EFFECTS AND MUSIC!! PLUS, I AM A GIRL (WOMAN ACTUALLY) AND I FIXED IT ALL BY MYSELF WITH YOUR HELP. THANK YOU.

81371 2F000
Very helpful video...but jeepers creepers serial killer type vibes from the beginning
I got so annoyed with the sound effects I quit watching half way through the video
What's the name of the song and who sings it please?
Forget what all these tools are saying, the soundtrack is tiiight
Thanks man this was very helpful
Thank you, I have a 2007 and you saved me a lot of money. Part # 7G21 at KIA dealers only.
Helpful video. Unfortunately I couldn't complete the repairs because I just hung myself to put myself out of sound effect misery. Goodbye cruel world.
It helped some what ,like getting the trim off but he skips the door latch part..that`s the pain in the a$$ part..
Muchísimas gracias sirvió para mi kia Spectra 2009

All of the hard parts that you are watching this video for? He skips those parts.
This was very helpful but fuck man all that for a door handle

I don’t care how late I am to the party, I hate that you ever thought these sound effects would benefit this video in any aspect
