  • If you are running SharePoint Server 2010 Enterprise, you can use InfoPath 2010 to modify SharePoint list forms. You can take advantage of all that InfoPath has to offer (conditional formatting, validation, etc.) when customizing the list form. This video shows how you can modify the out of the box Tasks list in SharePoint using InfoPath.

I got this error: Server was unable to process request. ---> Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Do you know what could it be?
    Thank you.

Hi. Thank you for this tutorial. I understand it's years old, but I have a question if anyone can help. I am customizing a SharePoint task list within InfoPath as you have done here. I am adding a Formatting Rule to a Control to hide based upon certain conditions. It hides the Control field, but not the label. I.e. It still says "Name", but no text box - the only thing that disappears is the text box. How can I get rid of the Name? Unfortunately, InfoPath forms tied to SharePoint Lists do not allow you to create Sections with Rules.
