I just received that blue concert Enya uku in the mail yesterday. I love the look of it I’m just trying to play it so the strings get worn in. I watched your video on stretching the new strings. Do you recommend I change the strings that came with this uku? My other uku have Aquila strings on them. I am now replacing all the songs that I know that have C chord with it to one of the new variations. It is so fun! I am lucky I decided to play a ukulele, because if I didn't, I would never have found such an amazing teacher! these videos aimed at beginners sometimes give unexpected inspirations even if you not beginner. that barre c chord is nice if you lift index finger and play it like C6 instead. it gives much different feeling and voicing than open strings' C6, and bass note can slide into it from Dm7 so nicely, likewise you can do chromatic climb on bass note from Dm7 to F9 to C6 using that barre shape. it's gives very bluesy vibe to your typical jazzy 2 5 1s i love it

Excellent stuff! Thank you! You are looking well! If I can add something ... we've all got different hands, wrists and arms! For instance, I cannot fret that C chord that way at 2:10 quickly and reliably. Not enough to be useful! It was really frustrating and limiting. A good guitar teacher pointed out that I could use my index finger across the entire fretboard - i.e. barre across all four strings and not just those two - so the index finger does 3333 while the others do 54. That gives 5433. Perfect! It works for my hand - and I can use it quickly. Why am I saying this? Because playing within your limitations can be an effective way of overcoming them. I found that really helped in improving my coordination for chord changes.
I am looking for a "forever" ukelele to play fingerstyle. I was thinking acacia might suit this style. Have you any suggestions as to the sweetest sounding fingerstyle ukes. I prefer Concert or Tenors and don't mind if I have to pay a bit more to find "the one".

At 2:45 I'm struggling with 5433 but your fingers seem to be 5437 and THAT doesn't sound like crap when I do that. Should I be trying to make 5433 work or is 5437 and acceptable "cheat"

Right. By fret numbers, that's 9787 with the barre across fret 7. Another C is with the G shape barred at fret 5: 5787.

This one doesn't have a radius fretboard, but if I ever get one with a radio fretboard, I will ask 🤗❤️

5437 is better anyway if you play fingerstyle all notes have different sound. 5433 kinda bad for that because it has repeated notes
