This is by far the weirdest vlog I’ve seen about Dakar. I was born and grew up in this town. First over 11 min didn’t hear nothing positive about Dakar or Senegal. I would understand when the vlog was about local market because you passed such nice areas to get in the places you are specially for someone who comes regularly in Dakar but your camera is cut of in between. We are very proud of our Wolof it’s one of rare growing languages in Africa because our culture means everything for us but people speak and understand French it’s not an issue. I also wonder how they prohibited you to record at the moment cuz I used to pass over their so much like daily it’s my neighborhood. Type vlog about Dakar in RUclips even girls shoot videos without problems people might look at you twice like an instinct that’s it unless you filming someone’s straight face they won’t generally react .
@Abdou Ngom "By far the weirdest vlog..." Because I flipped the mirror. Not only in Sénégal... West Africa is the hardest place to vlog ..yelling, finger wagging in your face not to film or else. And you guys don't want nobody to say that. If that had happened to me in Northern Africa, you wouldn't have called it "Weird vlog" you would've said that I was telling the truth because they are RACIST!!! Check my vlogs in Saudi Arabia, Palestine and so on .. how I was welcomed there, and compare it to my West African vlog Mirror Mirror 🪞
I would have thought that filming in the street in Dakar would have been much easier than in Abidjan or Bamako. When I was photographing trains in Dakar in 2016 and 2018 I had no problems except for one guy who started shouting. When I went to him and asked him what his problem was and explained that I was on official business with agreement of the railway he apologized.
French, spanish, arabe,English, German, all these language are teached in Senegal from High school sometimes from primary school to university, any place you go you will meet people who speack french and english. You just don't know anything about my country.
As much as I like your videos, you are completely wrong about your opinion of the Senegalese. First of all your said it would be difficult speaking in French because most people approach you in Wollof, you are wrong. More than 75% of the people speak French and about 98% are multilingual. You also said they are not aware of vlogging, really my brother. How many vloggers visit Senegal everytime without issues. Wode Maya, the Tigres, and many more international vloggers visit often and are always welcomed. This has actually made me doubt your other videos. I have never been with people that speak so many languages as the Senegalese people. Just because they are proud of their language does not mean they don't speak French. Also the hospitality of the Senegalese people is second to none. They are very welcoming and friendly people. Just don't be arrogant and you won't have any problems.
@Malick Cissé I don't think you watched my video, IF u did I don't think you understood what I was saying . 1. Where in the video I said it would be difficult to speak in French in Sénégal ? I said: Everybody is speaking to me in Wolof ... because there is no difference, meaning the Senegalese don't see the difference between me being an Ivorian or Senegalese.. 2. And I said: IF that was in Ivory Coast everyone will be speaking in French and that is funny... I was antagonizing people in Ivory Coast for speaking French all the time.... So did you want me to break every sentence down for you to understand it? 3. I even said: I feel at EASE in Sénégal (meaning: I feel at home in Dakar) because of the cultural similarities between my culture which is Djoula -Muslim of Ivory Coast and Senegalese which is 96% Muslim. And you have completely skipped that part!!! Telling me don't be arrogant.... I think you are being very rude!!!
