    I think people at BJP really don't understand how economy or any sophisticated mechanism works. It requires a lot of education and knowledge to reach at the level of MMS and Raghuram Rajan. Jaitley is considered to be the smartest person in BJP but his knowledge about economy is rudimentary. Add to that the ego of BJP leaders who are unwilling to listen to the experts and you have the recipe for a disaster that we are facing.

    I support Narendra Modi but I salute this man's genius and his intellect. One of the greatest bankers and economists RBI and India has ever seen. The RBI was facing a terrible crisis when he was appointed and he basically built it up again from the bottom up. After his first day at office the INR went up 2.1% against the USD. As Governor of the RBI, he made curbing inflation his primary focus, bringing down retail inflation from 9.8% in September 2013 to 3.78% in July 2015, the lowest since the 90s. He also predicted the 2008 financial crisis in 2005 warning about the growing risks in the financial system asking for policies that would reduce such risks. The US treasury secretary called him a luddite but he turned out to be right and he was hailed by the world. There is no denying that demonetisation is a failure because as much as I support Mr. Modi I do not and cannot become a blind brainless fanboy of any politician/party and not criticize their terribly failed moves. I wish PM Modi has listened to Raghuram, our growth rate which we need to be in double digits, wouldn't have fallen to a embarrassing 5.1 this quarter.

      @mayank Chand - Let's keep it realistic. I believe you are trying to confuse people by mixing up the topics.
      --> Indian Rupee is performing well. Many reasons for it like "Trump-Trade", "change of RBI policy rate" and so on...
      --> The ultimate goal of demonetization is to remove black money, fake currency and encourage digital payments. I appreciate the idea behind them - wonderful for Indian economy. Whatever the reasons we have lost GDP growth, Estimated loss on economy will be somewhere near 12 Lakh Crore, Job Losses are far too many, Printing new currency requires an investment of 17,000 crore at a minimum, Banks are almost without work (except demonetization) for almost 3 months, Agriculture sector is worst impacted
      --> GDP growth is drastically falling because of two segments(Manufacturing and Construction). One of the reason is Demonetization especially in construction sector
      --> I never, ever encourage any one to make personal comments

    People in comment section criticising the move of Demonetisation. Havent seen the video. In whole video Raghuram Rajan has criticisised the way of execution. And not the move moreover one of officials from government had also confirmed after few months of demonetisation that if new currency is circulated across the country before announcement of demonetisation then many people across the country should be notified of demonetisation as of Logistics and management. And government only wanted people who were storing this money to suffer.

    This man was the RBI governor. What an explanation for the black money and government saving on interest. Is he really an economist. If money is frozen in the vaults and basements. What use is it to economy. When the money is rolling in the market it is of use to economy. I am not an economist, but this basic Funda is clear. Money is like blood in body, it has to keep circulating, if not then the economy gets sick like a body with stagnant blood. I guess such economists are the problem for ills in economy

    • @shitijsablania4995
      @shitijsablania4995 7 лет назад

      Sanjeev Sen First the statement "Is he really an economist" is out right stupid. Second all the money laying idle in the home never entered the banking system before demonetisation but as the calamity struck, the people were rushing to deposit money and there is some amount that can go in the bank without a pan card in a month. And that's you earn interest on it. The black economy situation wasn't taken care of rather it was elevated.

    • @rajansharma3299
      @rajansharma3299 6 лет назад

      Sanjeev Sen the money deposited in bank will be given as loan by banks. Monitoring of which is very important task as NPA is on rise. Moreover after demonetisation demand has not picked up due to which many people are defaulting in their payments. Which is affecting bank's profitability.

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_banks_in_India
    So in before 1999 the same banks in this list were operating in india, and gdp economy was below singapore, oman...etc not equal to france as it is now. So the same people were there at that time too, foreign businessmen, nri, indian businessmen,... so the same situation still is....but if you observe that the lists banks have total revenue which was once in 1999 before somewhat lower than what is it seems to be. So how did these indian listed banks got their capital revenue to billions us dollars trillions of rupees in span of 15 years without foreign investors nor people going abroad. So this is really confusing if industrialist have private wealth, apart from it...are these banks itself nowdays operating as capital head like azim premji, mittal and ambanis. So people used to save their money in past, now banks itself are money capital inc. And hsbc citibank are for priviledge customers non indian nationals whose capital is still not listed in india, and they now doing jana kalyan.

    The most evil thing of Mr Modi is that he is one of the genius of creating very good image about him. This made him one of the most successful politician and a popular figure. But problem is that if he take a bad decision like UPA it will not create dent on him unlike it did to UPA. Still I think he is the most desirable for the post of PM and no one is near to him till now. But he should come out of some stereo Gujarati thinking like business that all matter, investment on health and education is not important(but forgot that what he celebrate the India's science achievement is a byproduct of previous government), making social services into private hand whose only concern is profit, drastically decreasing vaccines in government job, action toward jobless growth, bearing very NPA for those companies who has no part in nation development(like jobs ,social welfare) and compensate it with denting banking system and common people with merging banks and unplanned demonetisation respectively.Even he is failing to create more job. Most of these job didn't attract hike compared to market. I still respect for his transparent and efficient governance, dynamic attitude, leadership,motivational speaker, ready to adapt new things and come with some wonderful scheme like digitalisation, UJALA, make in India(not successful).But this thing will not matter for long if the important thing is to compensate for that. One of the thing about him is that though he is progressive in nature but he not able to understand India as a whole from core. Jai hind .Jai Bharat

    i agreed with most of the points but in one he said now gov will have to pay interest on money on which it was not paying but at the same time banks will also make interest on that by giving that huge chunk of money to public in loan so how this is unprofitable for gov

    • @arvindsemwal7516
      @arvindsemwal7516 7 лет назад +2

      Mayank Chand Suppose 100 rupees black money has been deposited as white money into the bank. Now Banks will have to give 4% interest to the holder so it becomes loss of 104 rupees in aggregate. Now suppose bank gives this 100 rupees as loan and gets 14% interest so banks are gaining 14 rupees.
      So net amount = +14 - 4 - 100 = -90...That means still there is 90 rupees loss for the government.
      That is how it is unprofitable.
