Brian Henson is an inspiration, it is easy to put Jim on the pedestal that he deserves for inventing that universe, but people forget that Brian stepped up to direct Christmas Carol straight after his father's death. The fact the Jim Henson company still exists today and employs hundreds of talented artists is something of a miracle. You can see how skilled and passionate he is, it takes an amazing person to fill shoes like Jim's

Upstaging was something Jim Henson encouraged, I remember someone telling the story, on one of the shows, there were penguins in the background of a shot, and one penguin was jumping around and flailing about, and the director asked who it was, and they all turned around to see it was Jim Henson, and he was chuckling to himself.

My church group used to do a puppet production, and I still have one of the puppets we don't do it now because of COVID and new pasture course but I am totally down with what Brian Hansen has said cuz I was totally one of those able to get into the character whenever somebody commanded me too do a certain character I'd be on top of it. I kind of had the performance job of being a piano player that would try to channel both animal and Ralph the dog together.
Right now I'm trying to do a ventriloquist act with my puppet and I'm trying to branch out and being that wacky zany kind of personality which I'm not most of the time so yeah this is a very big leap for myself.

Here's a crazy idea: if you take a Chat AI that understands how word equals emotion and pair it with gesture, the puppeteer can control stage position and body aim, then the AI listens to voice acting and matches it to pre-programmed body response? This means complex mechanical face gestures and limb movements, surpassing felt face to emotional muscle.

Half the fun of improv is doing it on the fly and seeing where it goes organically. It's fun for everyone, and the more simpatico you have another person who is equally skilled, every scene can be solid gold to the point where you get sad afterward that it wasn't recorded. This whole idea sounds genius to me, and I'd love to see it go on tour. 👍
