Baltimore Artscape is a free three day festival. On this day the rain had been coming and going. The act before Robert Randolph was a wash out. The rain slowed to a light drizzle. RR and band came on stage and things got exciting. The camera movement towards the end of this video is from me doing everything in my power not to start jumping up and down. I get goose bumps every time I watch this because I think this is about the best mash up of songs that The Robert Randolph Family Band has ever done. It was a truly magical moment that I (and the crowd) was fortunate to experience.
I revisit this video that I shot at Artscape four years ago because it reminds me of just how great it can be to go to a LIVE show. Robert puts his whole being into this song to the point of trying to jump into his pedal steel guitar. I am so glad to share this moment in history. I still find it hard to believe just how amazingly good his show was that day. Enjoy the moments.
This man is one of the greatest this moment on steel guitar. Being a admirer of this instrument, be it King Benny Nawahi, Dick McIntire, Tau Moe, or Leon McAulife, Bob Dunn or Noel Boggs, or Hop Wilson, or whoever escaped the insipid 'I'm a steel guitar player, and I'll be doing my playing excactly like Pete Drake', Buddy Emerson, or Eric Steward on 'centerfold'; Meghan Lovell; this man stands out. The first one I've someone on a steelguitar using wah-wah.. Ho
Never underestimate Robert randolph and FB . Together with ben harper , clarck jr , chris Thomas and some else i forget now , they are the elite of guitarplaying and making great music .

Put this band on your bucket list. One of the best live shows I have ever seen.
