About Video Game Sophistry:
Video Game Sophistry is an opportunity to celebrate the creators and the artistry found in Video Games. I believe that Games are the most effective medium from experiencing another world, and another way to live. Expect to see a series of videos showcasing the narratives hidden in every game, interviews with game developers, along with our bench mark weekly podcast, Dialogue Wheel.
Andy Borkowski started this program nearly 10 years ago and, in that time, it has changed from a simple RUclips show, to a radio show, a tv show and now once again a RUclips destination. Welcome to VGS.

Everybody is complaining about that animation, but it's pretty cool to fly through the different star systems. Then again I'm kind of a space nerd.
yup its awesome
Same here!!
yeah me too, i understand why people were mad at this because it feels slow but smooth, i mean yeah, Bioware wanted to remind you that you are exploring a new galaxy, somewhere no known species of the milkyway have gone to, that's why it was made like that. I actually haven't played andromeda yet but i will buy it, and i know i will enjoy it and won't be dissapointed but y know i just wanted to see a little bit of the new galaxy map before i played it, that's it, because i don't want any spoilers.
"Anomaly detected."
Shit, better hope you have a decent scientist on that ship.
The new galaxy map theme reminds me of the song "Convergence/I Am Alive" from ME3's Extended Cut.
You love tha galaxy music from MS 1 and 2 hun? high five ✋
what are u exploring when u arrived the cluster was already explored by raiders pirates smugglers and the initiative
Great Vids 🖒
Wiki makers thank you!
I dig it.
only that is andromeda galaxy?
Sebastián Melgarejo
It's ONE cluster in Andromeda...there are more clusters in Andromeda, just not unlocked in the game.
@@TeaSquiffy2 Heleus is the only visitable Cluster in the game.
That theme is meh. Doesnt stay in your head at all. :/
It's okay. I'm a fan of the original galaxy map theme.
maybe you dont played the game yet... like me
You can't skip that animation? That is gonna get old....
This >loading screens
No and it happens for every transition. Anomalies, planets, and systems. Literally every time. It gets old quick but that's not even the worse part...
+Zac But there's absolutely nothing on the planets or in the systems! So you'd rather have some redundant space animation over actually scanning the planets and finding anomalies?
EDIT: So this might have been locked off for the trial but idk yet. Looking into it
And that's the best part of the game so yeah lol
To Note: Yes, they can be skippable, but i'm not too sure about the Sequence of Traveling to other Systems.
This game isn't gonna reignite that Mass Effect spark in me. There's just something about it. The graphics are okay but not much more. The script from the 45 minutes did not impress me at all, and the Galaxy Map theme.... the Galaxy Map theme, my god, it sounds like a timid imitation of the original but barely sticks out.
Dunno. I'm sure this will be a decent game but I was hoping for a bit more than that, being the "Next Gen Mass Effect" game. I keep having the feeling something didn't go according to plan when they made this game.
What an missed opportunity to say "pale imitation of the real thing"
The galaxy map is pointless now. One anomaly per system that only yields one item and it's not even on any of the planets. Why even have any other planets other then the ones we land on then? Are they just space fillers with no real purpose? Wtf? How do you fuck that up!!! Seems to me that they spent more time on the transition animations than they did actually putting content in the fucking game. Sure it's cool to actually see the planets from a 1st person perspective of the ship as you trvel to diff systems/planets but if there's nothing there then WTF is the point Lol That is literally the ONE thing that has really pissed me off about this game so far. Everything else is just flawed but this is one of the MAIN components of the game and there's nothing to it. No more random planets having cool anomalies or plentiful with resources. No, you get most of the resources from loot containers or actual mineral deposits on the planets you can actually land on and explore. So no more cool random finds on planets like side missions or abandoned space stations or vessels. Just an asteroid that has one mineral deposit and that's it. And we already know that all those other stars are systems too that will open up later. Are they empty too (aside from the main story planets? What the actual fuck Bioware?!
I was really looking forward to finding some interesting anomalies and just collecting resources but there are none. Classic case of a sequel trying to do too much and completely destroying what makes the damn series special in the first place. This is highly disappointing and disheartening. The only thing good I've seen so far is just the combat, missions, loot, and the Tempest. The writing is ass in a lot of instances (not all entirely bad there are some good lines but alot of cringe moments too), ofc the facial animations are complete garbage for humans (hopefully the patch fixes that), the performance on PC is pretty rocky (frames are every where but I'm hoping the game day driver alongside the patch will help that too), and everything wrong with the galaxy map (it's very bad as I said b4; complete 180 from the trilogy and has become absolutely pointless now).
For reference, I'm playing in 1080p 144hz Gsync ultra settings. The frames are just all over the place right now. One minute GPU usage is 60% - 70% with CPU at ~60% and the frame rate would be 120+ in places like the Hyperion or certain areas on the Nexus. Then in areas on the Tempest or Eos I'm getting 45-60fps (Gsync kicked in though and kept things relatively smooth but there's still a good deal of stuttering) with 99% GPU usage/60% CPU usage it's crazy. Here's hoping this will be a completely diff game at launch...
Win10
i5 4690K
GTX 1080 FE
16GB RAM
Kaos Ruin They locked a ton of stuff for this early access trial. You can find anomalies on planets by scanning them.
+H240909
Like I said this is my impressions as of nownow. I scanned the fuck out of all the planets and found nothing. I really do honestly hope that's the case though. I really do hope it's completely diff game at launch. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get that information bc I really wanna know if they did lock it off or not
By locked I meant their was an embargo on gameplay that went past a certain point but I did see gameplay of another guy who found anomalies on planets in the starting systems so I think its procedurally generated.
I actually did finally see some anomalies in another system but it was pretty limited. Most of the time it was on satellites that gave you research data or XP. It's really been dumbed down and basic but I guess we have to take what we can get at this point with this shit show of game.
