    Mr. Hightower: thank you for making this video, I thought my misfires and no compression were coming from bent valves. I thought I'd try this b4 pulling the head and guess what, 156 psi now so thank you thank you.

    When you lock the exhaust cams with the toolbar, they cant go wrong...only intake can be wrong... this is the proper video how to calculate the links!! 7yr old video but Im doing this atm 😂

    VW just fix it, I Will love to take my Passat to you to fix it. I already put close to $1,800 on it and the two "mechanics" that took my $$ still said they are not sure what the problem is..

    Question, when doing this. Does the timing belt have to be DTC ? Then do this repair ?

      Julio Duran Yes the motor must be in the correct timing position

      @@vwjustfixit4843 Thanks for the reply, when I put the car in service position at top dead center both of the camshafts are out of adjustment. I believe that's my problem

      Just make sure the timing marks on the crank pully and both camshaft gears are all in the correct alignment and you will be good to make the adjustments.

    so the exhaust side is a tooth off i have the 2.8 24 valve vr6 02 jetta why cant you just remove the tensioner and turn the exhaust sproket back a tooth there is enough room between the cam gear and housing to do it but intake not enough room andit was the exhaust cam that was off but ypu turned the intake please explaine i dont know why im having this issue my engine has not been touched how could it jump a tooth no chain noise idles like a dream but when you takeoff it bucks please help

      William Lynch, Hi, the Passat 2.8 and the Jetta 2.8 VR6 are two very different motors. Do you have DTC codes

      @@vwjustfixit4843 the only code i get is p1347 camshaft/crankshaft o2 sensor signal out of sequence i have all new every sensor on the motor and exhause all boush

      William Lynch did you replace the G28 engine speed sensor

      @@vwjustfixit4843 Yes every sensor thats the one next to the oil filter the only thing I haven't replaced is the 2 sensors that stick out of the cam gear cover and screw into the head
