I'm a 1979 Spring Alum. I loved watching your pearls of wisdom, Sierra! I may have to save a lot of nickels, dimes, and rupees, but I want to be a lifelong learner. The best thing my parents ever gave me was this voyage so long ago. You are only 2 weeks in? I'd love to hear your comments when you are done. Yes. This is a voyage of a lifetime. Cherish every moment.
Hi yall! To answer questions below, the voyage is open to university students outside of the U.S.! You do have to take the TOEFL to show you can take English-language classes. On my voyages (once as a student 2001, once as a staff member 2007), I met students from Brazil, Germany, and Japan. The cost of the voyage has increased greatly since I first sailed in 2001- if you are in high school and want to go, start saving your money now! Work part-time, ask for SAS cash for xmas, birthdays, graduation, look into travel abroad scholarships once you are in college, etc, etc! Make it happen! Even if you have to take out some student loans, it's well worth it! You can always earn more money, but you will likely never get back this time/opportunity :)
mel k $26,000 plus visas, food, clothing, laundry etc. it’s so expensive when you total everything in. and you don’t get very many credits so it’s not really worth it if you want to grad in 4 years
I thought the advice was a bit weird and then realised the channel was the actual company and not this individuals personal channel. The advice is something teachers want you to say
Still you should start planing now! There is soooooo much prep work and planning that goes into go on this trip. And it is never to early to start saving up lol
You said don’t drink the sink water but where do you think they get the water you are drinking? It’s all distilled sea water and it’s all held in the ships potable water tanks.
@@alyssia2683 Yes! I have been looking into it as well, I'm also dutch. It is open to international students, it all the same expect you need to do an english proficiency test. You can find info about the everything on the site.

It is expensive to be a lifelong learner.....another possible option is for you to apply for staff positions on voyages!

Rory Fleming it’s not really for the credits it’s just for fun. and that’s not that expensive for college
mel k
you could easily travel even more than this for WAY cheaper as a young person
Rory Fleming ya but it would just be fun like u can say u went to school on a boat, like it’s not about travel OR school it’s for the mix of both
