- I have one more refreshing Gin & Tonic for you this summer. Let's make it a trilogy of sorts. This time I thought I'd use cherries. I love cherries. However, cherries are on the list of the Dirty Dozen fruits and vegetables that are most sprayed with pesticides. So what do you do about that? Always buy expensive organic? Even then how can you be sure it's always "organic"? Today I'm showing you a little cleaning device called an Aquapure that electrolyzes your water and turns it into an effective and safe cleaning agent!! I use mine all the time when cleaning my fruits and vegetables. It eliminates many different pesticides and bacterias. I love this thing. of course you don't need one of these devices to make this cocktail. It just adds another layer of freshness!

SWEET CHERRY SAGE GIN & TONIC

IN A COCKTAIL SHAKER MUDDLE:
6 - RIPE SWEET CHERRIES (PITTED)
6 - FRESH SAGE LEAVES
ADD
1/2oz (15ml) - LIME JUICE
1 BARSPOON (5ml) - LUXARDO MARASCHINO
CHERRY SYRUP
2oz (60ml) - GIN
SHAKE WELL WITH NO ICE FOR 30 SECONDS.
FINE STRAIN INTO A CHILLED TALL GLASS OR GOBLET-STYLE WINE GLASS FILLED
WITH FRESH ICE.
TOP WITH 2oz (60ml) ELDERFLOWER TONIC WATER & GENTLY STIR.
GARNISH WITH A LIME WHEEL, SAGE LEAF, AND A COUPLE OF FRESH CHERRIES.

Cherry pitters are a scam. Use a straw, preferably a metal one. Works well for cleaning strawberries, too.
