- Is Ladakh one of the most beautiful places in the world?
Ladakh is an amazing place for a road trip. Where better to see amazing landscapes, meet kind people and have a travel adventure? In this Ladakh travel vlog I take a road trip, visiting Pangong Lake, Leh, mountain passes such as the Baralacha pass and stay with local families. I try Ladakhi traditional dress and visit the famous monasteries in the mountains.
Have you been on a Ladakh road trip? What were your favourite things to do in Ladakh? Tell me in the comments!
(This is a re-edit of a video as the previous video had music that became a copyright issue. It was filmed before lockdown and before any travel restrictions were in place.)

Wow, what an amazing journey. I went to Manali in May a few years ago planning to take the bus from there to Leh, but the roads weren't open yet. So I ended up going to Srinigar instead and then going to Ladakh that way. But I didn't make it to a lot of the places you showed. Looking forward to exploring that area again one of these days. So do you have any travel plans in the works for the coming months?
Well we are still in lockdown in the UK but I have some travel plans for after that.
I figured that was probably the case. Let's hope for more freedom by spring or at least summer.
those flags are not for a 'wind god'. those are Tibetan buddhist prayer flags, they have sacred texts written over them and hung everywhere, so that the wind carries the prayers and passes the message with it in the whole wide world.
Wind horse is the direct translation of lungta (the Tibetan word for the prayer flags)
And therefore everyone should consider Ladakhi Guide while traveling in laddakh . highly recommended
India is so beautiful 😭😭

Alex, Ladakh has been my work place for past 10 years. I'm happy that you have a soft corner for this special land. The land of Lamas. I too love Ladakh and it's people. 🌻 NV
I really can't wait to visit again!
Amazing vlog
You radiate a lot of positivity, love from India 🇮🇳 ❤❤❤
Ignore the hate comments , it's because you have made vlog of both Pakistan and India so I saw a lot of hate comments because of fight between two countries 😅
But we could live like brother bro.

Appreciate you watching thank you
You are very welcome! It was a joy! Return the favor! Watch one of ours! It's kind of family video journaling, but there's a few gems in there. You never know. It might be boring now, but when you finally settle and have kids, our channel may be interesting! 😄😉 Josh
Favourite place in Ladakh? I couldn't find any that weren't! Every part of it is a delight beyond words. If I had to pick, Khangral-Sanjak Rd was a joy, Hemis Shukpachan village another, both off the tourist track. Returning after Covid.
I enjoyed every moment...And even those more challenging moments I now look back on fondly!
@@AlexOuthwaite Well tiring certainly, as we rode motorcycles for 2 weeks, and like you, and almost the same location (Sarchu), I got altitude sickness, but I acclimatised, surprisingly, and was able to sit out at 18,000' and soak up views like no others that a year later still make me smile.
Your travel vloging videos are just outstanding, next time when u will come India u should visit northeast India including sikkim!!!These places are like ladakh version 2.0!!Can't wait to see u in India!!!Namaste🙏😍💗

OMG You look like a princess in a ladhaki dress i love india its just like an another planet ❤
Its not that we worship in god, its mountain dieties , its way or ritual to spread power of buddhist mantras that were taught by lord buddha which are now written or inscripted in Tibetan script.
These prayer flags represent 5 elements like air, fire, water and earth which are very existance of earth and uiverise. White symbolises air, red is fire. Green is water, yellow is earth, and blue is wind. They also represent directions - North, South, East, West and Center. There are many different ways and form the prayers or mantras are written on the prayer flags . One you had seen in the bus is OM MANI PAD MAI HU.
This mantra was chanted for the benefit of all the santient being . This mantra show all the core teaching of Buddha shakyamuni.
These mantra literally means as per dalai lama,
In English, this rhythmic chant literally translates to “Praise to the Jewel in the Lotus.”
om mani padme hum
all jewel lotus merge
all .. sentient beings
jewel .. our precious life
lotus .. blossom/grow/follow dharma path
hum .. yoga nirvana buddhahood
I love TRAVEL XP just to see you! Glad to find your channel on youtube😍
Guys I got great list for you if you like to travel in India :-
1) baratang island (Andaman)- tropical rainforest, karst landscape island
2)Ahmedabad(Gujarat)-hottest,sunniest city in India
3)cheerapunji(Meghalaya)-humidiest,rainiest,foggiest,hailest town
4)kaza(Spiti)-high altitude(3650m)above sea level , mountainous,snowiest, deserted,coldest town
5)Nashik(Maharastra)- most thunderstorm city in india
6)rammakkalmedu(Kerala)-windiest village in India
7)Kochi(Kerala)-0m altitude exactly to sea level ,metropolean city in india
8)kuttanad(Kerala)-(-2m) below sea level village in india
9) Panaji (Goa)- river mixed with sea landscape city in india
I think so I have covered all kind of landscapes,weather,altitudes hope you enjoyed my comment );
Those are prayer flags originated from Tibet. Tibetan prayer flags one in the car is "Om Mani Padme Hung" written which is prayer of compassion to all sentientbeing which includes animal and insects. Colors represents 5 elements blue-sky, red -fire, white cloud, yellow- earth, green -water without these we all sentientbeing cannot servive so prayer is also for Good health and have balance. Putting these flags high is to pass the message through air or wind. There are other kind of prayers style shape as well varies.
@corn bread
1. the mantra has Pali roots .. later translated to sanskrit
2. the script has roots in the Gupta script
..
u may keep sourcing it "back"
@@dara_1989 pali is a script not a language
mantra is from sanskrit
@@shirokun4742 type pali mantras on utube ... let me know if u hear sanskrit
So glad you loved your visit to Ladakh. When planning your next visit contact Nilza Guest House and Restaurant. Extremely welcoming, and a warm homely stay. They organize full tours around Ladakh too.
You do lovely pieces on travelxp, I recently gave 5 days in a Force Traveller bus in a small part of India, it's some country..😎👍
The longest blogs till now on your channel 😁
True!
Awesome, nu ta valley buddha statue, and ur host beautiful
There is no place in world which come close to sheer natural beauty culture and Heritage,,, basically all of north India, Which starting from Rishikesh to Kashmir, Leh Ladhak, Part of nepalese side of Himalays Then to so called Pakistan side, than move to Afghanistan Panjshir Valley all the way To Tajik Mountains, 24 hundred kilometre of Himalayan beauty, Kashmir being most close to my heart.
People forget ladakh when they visit sangla ,chitkul , poo ,kaza in himachal pradesh
*Baralacha la Pass is in Himachal Pradesh, Not in Ladakh*
Sarchu also in Himachal Pradesh..I guess
Amazing video and beautiful place!
Highest tourist destination kasmir & ladak 20 million last year this extended 25 million get this valley people very very rich very soon good luck

Incredible india

Hey alex, you should visit the northern areas of Pakistan🇵🇰, you like these kinda places so I thought of recommending northern areas like Kashmir, Gilgit and hunza as well as muree
But woah man india and Pakistans northern areas look alike!
Love it! ❤
Ladakh and Baltistan have cultural ties, similar ethicity, languages, history and Geography.
For example the baltit fort in Hunza is based on Tibetan architecture made by the Balti architect since balti people are of Tibetan origin.
You would see fort's and houses in Ladakh Similar to Baltit fort's architecture
