"Never put a pickle in your mouth" - MrLboyd 2022
Sweet relish only. NEVER DILL PICKLES ON ANYTHING EVER!!!!
That needs to be on a T shirt
Pickle Rick agrees with this.
Next time I have a pickle in my mouth, I'll be thinking of Mr. L Boyd. 😘
This is the first thing he's said that I disagree with 😂😂
Watching MrLboyd having an identity crisis playing Black Jeopardy is one of the upsides of the internet
It's hilarious.
I still get a laugh every time I see your name in these comment threads, well done.
Facts..Lol
+1, just for your nick.
😂 😂
*watches Weird Al*
"Guys, I think I might be white & nerdy?!"
*watches Black Jeopardy*
"I'm not getting ANY of these!"
😂😂😂😂
I laughed so hard when he unknowingly came up with a similar answer to T'Challa's about the police lol!
“I mean it should be”
I haven't seen someone question their own blackness this hard since Carlton on fresh Prince of Bel-Air
😂😂😂😂😂
Oooh, damn.
Congratulations, I am dead. 💀💀🤣🤣
Wayne Brady is the only other one I can think of.
@@shadowprince4482 White people love Wayne Brady because he make Bryant Gumble look like Malcolm X
They say "Black Jeopardy" but I gotta say, as a white male who grew up in a poor, mixed neighborhood, it's spot on like this...in MY household growing up. Packet drawers, margarine bowls, neighborhood mechanics...that's what I grew up with
Same here. Broke is broke
Same here both up north and down south
Can say this is the same for middle class too, in a lot of cases. I know it was for me, and all my friends growing up. At that time it was a white area, mixed now though. Even 2 days ago I went to the fridge for some butter and came out with half an Avocado.
Same. Grew up white and poor in a predominantly black neighborhood. All of that stuff is 100% spot on. This is also how I learned never to talk to cops. They are absolutely not there to help you.
Lower middle class white boy here, and probably 2/3 of the stuff hits home to me.
As a white man in the south, the lack of seasoning in food is painfully true. I never knew until I went to a black heritage festival, our food is sad.
Yeah white americans eat some bland food it is sad.White people in europe don't have that problem other than british.
just gotta learn how to cook, lmao
Shoot at least we don’t burn steaks 😂
Among the many gifts that Mr. Boseman has given us, my absolute favourite is his Potato Salad line.
You're not broken, you're just from Wakanda
I love this one 😂
RIP Chadwick 🖤
Opening the Margerine container was always a fun game at my grandma's house. Will it be sewing supplies? Cookies? Actual Margerine?? Who's to know! Only grandma! 😂
Also, pretty sure my tendency to go for as rare as possible is a direct result of my mom cooking as well done as possible.
And I support all you pickle haters. Just means more pickles for me! YAY!
Worst was the sewing equipment in that cookie box! I swear, was it our parents fault that those tin containers were something else?? 🤣
@@bilalc4415 OMG YES! 😂😂😂 I'm suspicious of those cookie tins to this day!
When we were little we would ask Grandma if we could play bowls and spoons. We would get all the old margarine tubs out, and all the bent up silverware that she had bent for babies or for her own handicaps and we would pretend to cook for hours.
"Oh no", is exactly what I'm saying when watching your reaction 🤣
As a former line cook who worked in Harlem NY I can attest, black folks eat their beef well done. A solid 90% tell me they just like it that way. Blood apparently creeps some of them out.
Which is crazy because it isn't blood 😂
watching your inner white guy struggle with your outer black man is pure gold
Are you saying that MrLboyd is openly white but he happens to be black?
@@MrMartinSchou the George Carlin bit about Colin Powell?
@@jjbfour Yup
I love your reactions to these. And yes...there are people out there eating well done steaks. It ain't me...but somebody is. 😄
Two videos down and Mr.Lboyd is still not realizing how suburban he may actually be lol
It's worth it just for your facial reactions. They are gold. And you are right, it's ALL about economic class. Well, 90%, I guess. The rest would be culture. I am a Minnesota white boy, but, my dad grew up in South Mississippi, just up from the gulf coast. And my mom in South Minneapolis. So I got stories about all the BS thier friends got from police and other such crap.
And having food that actually has flavor to it.
Yes, there are other episodes. I love them all but especially the one with Tom Hanks. Also, please check out "Meet your second Wife" and "What's that Name?"
You need a hot German potato salad with no mayo and added bacon!
I am so with you with potato salad and the steak, rare to med rare for me. I have heard of the raisin in it but have never seen it yet.
I have. Once you see it, it can't be unseen. You are changed forever.
you should check out SNL's "Celebrity Jeopardy" with Will Farrell as the host, every one of those scenes is hilarious
Don't forget Jimmy Fallon's spot on impressions or Norm Mcdonald as the guests.
These black jeopardy reactions are HILARIOUS, seriously have me laughing, thank you sir!
You don’t carry the suitcase, but you do layer up with everything that fits.
Glad to see how he finally understood the skit premises. Just know we love your videos. Cheers man!
These are the best reactions to these I've ever seen! 😆 Your reactions are my favorite
YES!! Please check out Black Jeopardy with Elizabeth Banks, Black Jeopardy with Louis CK, Black Jeopardy with Drake, and Black Jeopardy with Eddie Murphy!! They are hilarious. Also be sure to check out Celebrity Jeopardy with Will Ferrell as host!
LOL well-done steaks are definitely a thing in black culture here. I worked in restaurants and almost 100% of orders I took from black Americans were well-done or extra well-done meats, from steak to bacon.
Same
Know white people who order their steaks well done. Absolutely no taste.
Yes this comment is the truth..I want everything well done or extra well done to be sure it's well done💯😂
This reaction was freaking hilarious.
These are funny but you should watch some of the celebrity jeopardy snl did where Will Ferrell plays Alex Trebek and one of the cast members at the time played Sean Connery. They are hilarious.
yaaa you doing the second best SNL skit
In the end, when T'Challa shouts "In da face!!", it's a shout out to Coming To America when Prince Akeem shouted the same thing during a basketball game :-)
6:04 THE OUTRAGE! I'm dying here.
There are 4 more Black Jeopardy sketches. They include: Elizabeth Banks, Louis CK, Drake and Eddie Murphy as the third contestant.
Velvet Jones!
😆 🤣 I Luuuuv How You Try To Answer The Crazy Azz Questions! 😆..Please Find and Do More BLACK JEOPARDY!..Great Great Reaction..(R.I.P. CHADWICK BOSEMAN 🙏🏾)
The series of sketches is about social consensus and the identity it provides. The writer who thought of it had noticed that as a white guy, there were references and connections among the black people he knew that he could not fathom; it was a social language he didn't know. He found this idea interesting and came up with the notion of a game show where all the answers are in this kind of social code that an outside can't crack precisely because he's an outsider. So the players that aren't part of that group can't logic their way into the answers because that's not what the consensus is about. The black players know the answers not because they would make sense to anyone else, but because they grew up in the group and thus are privy to them, since they arise out of experience and heredity. So Tchalla is just as much at sea as the white players who've shown up, though he does manage to figure out the vibe at the end, there.
potato salad is meant to be cold, and is usually mayonnaise and mustard
I enjoyed this and the steryotypical humor. Would love to see more of this. I'm glad I subscribed so long ago. Always looking forward to your next post.
The closing comments perfectly encapsulated the sketch with Drake!
As a white woman who worked in an urban area for 30 years, I predicted and understood every answer. It's all in what you are exposed to. Oh, and I think there are two more Black Jeopardies. The one with Louis CK is pretty funny.
......and the one with Tom Hanks was an instant classic!
Sallie Mae is a student loan company
Her and I are well acquainted.
Gotta ask you to watch a video, even just on your own time. It's on RUclips, simply titled "Don't talk to the Police" by the Regent University School of Law. It's like 50 minutes long, but very very good with a lot of information and perspective. Everyone I've shown this too who would say that talking to the police is always a good thing changed their minds after this video. It's not even political in nature, just straight up legal and logical arguments.
This so much. I have recommended that video to quite a few people. I don't care if you can have enough money to hire a lawyer who graduated first in their class from Yale. You still shouldn't talk to the police.
I'm convinced you were kidding. ... you didn't think the answer was really tell the cops did you?!🤣🤣 oh no.
Someone needs to put a 24 hr sleep aide video of Lboyd explaining things.
Please do the Drake one! Finish it off! lol
I wish there were more of these, so funny.
I know why the open chair is a thing, but I had one of my best cutting experiences as a result of the open chair. It would require further detail, which no one wants to hear, but, trust me, it was amazing. Off the charts.
The stereotype of white people eating bland food has a basis on the fascinating 19th century history of spice use (and the lack thereof) in the US and UK. "Strong flavors" like onion and garlic were considered morally corrupting and associated with "undesirable populations" like blacks, Asians, Italians, Germans, and so on and so on. In the UK IIRC, there was a strong anti-flavor sentiment until the 70s or 80s.
Mr Boyd, did you say you lived in NYC, e.g. way up north? These Black Jeopardy bits make sense down south, even to a white dude. Seen plenty of these tropes in the flesh.
7:35 Damn Boyd I'm fid'na unsubscribe after that pickle comment, that shit hurt 🤣
The play on stereotypes is fantastic. Our difference are more about class and socioeconomic status than race (generally speaking).
My first comment stripped the first line for some reason.
When your eyes popped and you said "Are people eating well done steaks?!?!!!"
*that* made my day.
I loved your summation about race and class. So true. Not only is it true that "blackmess" is not universal. But I maintain that there are universal truths that transcend race/ethnicity. For example, I don't care what kind of house you go into, if there is a grandma present, she will want to feed you. And there are also things like crazy uncles and nosey aunts people of all types can relate to.
Pickles, ketchup, and Mayo are the axis of evil. Pickles are the evil green wand of Satan.
Then Satan i am. Love pickles, ketchup, mustard, not crazy on alot of mayo, just a tad. Are u anti spice too?
@@lilyz2156 not anti spice at all, I love spicy food. Those condiments smell horrible to me, and I can barely be in the same room with the axis of evil. I love mustard though.
@@VinzClorthokeymasterofGozer Sorry for the scent issue, didn't think they had one. Maybe taste is the problem.
Bruh, my aunt ordered a well done filet mignon and bragged that she was ordering the filet mignon. Then she convinced my teenage cousin to do the same. It hurt my SOUL!!!
Also, potato salad is delicious. You need some southern style mustard potato salad.
It's a recurring SNL bit. One of my favorites is Black Jeopardy! with Tom Hanks.
I started to comment that "everyone has their own taste" (because I like well-done or medium well at most lol) but then I heard Mr. Lboyd say he doesn't like potato salad or pickles so his taste is suspect anyway 😂 jk, but you should know better than to yuck someone's yum.
Potato salad comes in different forms. Not everybody adds pickles. For some it's more mayo based, for others it's more mustard based. It's most often served cold but I like it warm.
As with anything, you trying it only once all comes down to who made it lol
Pennsylvania-Dutch potato salad is really good .... sometimes they add bacon!
And it's cold if you put in mayo so it won't turn and make people sick. Also indicates it was made yesterday. 😆😆
@@rhondahandley9595 I've heated it up in the microwave a few times before without a problem
Those margarine containers are very multi-use 😂. Also, MLR I can’t hold you….my steak be in the afterlife when I have it made 🤣🤣🤣. It’s still juicy but it’s got about as much red as a Crips meeting
This is proof that Mr. L Boyd is a citizen of Wakanda! Awesome!!!
LOL the well done steaks reminds me of the King of the Hill answer to that. If someone ask for a well done steak, you politely but firmly ask for them to leave.
The regular jeopardy was great too...SUCK IT ALEX
Your steak reaction killed me Sir 😂. Haha and I’d love to have a conversation about some of the things you’ve said here but I think I would get excoriated in the comments. One well traveled American to another, don’t question who you are. Haha, you give financial advice, you’re clearly educated and very well spoken. Who you are is uniquely you and it would appear that you don’t need to worry about being anything else. Please don’t stop making videos!
As a former server at a popular steakhouse chain I can say that 90% of poc order a well done steak with some emphasizing extra well done, Not all though but common enough to become a popular stereotype much like bad tips
Man, you KNOW cold potato salad is the bomb! Sweet relish and eggs are the secret ingredients! AND NO ONIONS!
This was a spin off of the classic SNL skit celebrity jeopardy. Sean Connery was hilarious.
Ah hell Nah! Pickles are amazing. I love all pickled food, onions, gherkins, eggs, radishes, cabbage, everything tastes better pickled!
“I’ll be honest, potato salad is gross.” THANK YOU.
There are at least three more: Drake, Elizabeth Banks, and Louis CK.
Agreed. The first time I ever had potato salad was the first time I was ever sent running to the bathroom almost immediately after I ate it.
there are two more....one with Louis CK as an uptight white suburbanite and one with Drake as a stoner ultra-Canadian....
And then theres the Jeopardy skits with Will Ferrel as Alex Trebek which are legendary
😆😆OMG! That was hilarious! I loved the categories. "And as always...White People." 😆🤣🤣😂 Yeah... I'm a white southern woman and I was LMAO. I don't take offense. I like laughing at myself. I don't mind being the butt of the joke.
The potato salad joke was one of the best ive seen from SNL in a long time
All I can say is wow!
I don't know how many "Black Jeopardys" they did but in general the SNL Jeopardy sketches are all great.
I miss him.... WAKANDA FOREVER!
The unseasoned food also about class. When spices cost a lot rulers showed of w/using them, once the lower class could buy them, "we don't use it bc our meat is higher quality ^
You’ve gotta watch Keenan’s other signature show sketch- What’s Up With That?
Potato salad doesn't usually have pickles in it, but there is generally a lot of dill. Like, waaaaay too much dill. Montains of dill!
I'm a white guy from northnern-most Michigan (The part that's attached to Wisconsin). Not only do we NOT season our food, we regard parsley as an exotic herb.
I worked at a Steakhouse for years... Black people eating well done steaks is totally a thing...
Why, I can't tell you... But it is. 🤷
It is about class, And in the US we had a 150 years of public policy that kept a certain skin tone in a certain class, For the most part, there's always people who were intelligent and strong enough to be the wrong person
Bruh, this is comedy. The answers are punchlines. Sally Mae is a type of loan program that home buyers apply to.
Yes!!! Burning a steak is only for kids!!! Well said, sir!!!
Man he’s coming at me for my well done steaks AND my potato salad 😂😭
I believe they're at least 3 other black jeopardy sketches they did. One with Elizabeth Banks, Drake, and Louis CK.
"Is this a thing I'm missing guys?" 😅😅😅 Honestly I remember having the same thought the first time I saw this on SNL. Medium is as far as I go, Medium rare usually. Also, yeah, Potato Salad is nasty... But yes it's really messed up when I've seen raisins in it, like WTF?!
Never talk to the police!
Black Jeopardy is all about stereotypical black tropes, right on the verge of comedy and “black face.”
I believe the correct answer to the Police question was "Oh hell naw, I ain't no snitch."
I'm probably wrong, but I feel like these skits were inspired by floridians
Not sure which I laughed at the most; your reactions to the questions or the answers. Or you trying to figure out what answers the contestants would give. 🤔🥴
6:02 not only are they eating well done steaks, but they are adding ketchup.
My Mom used to have a few Country Crock and cottage cheese containers around for leftovers
I still do and have always hated Potato Salad, Macaroni Salad, basically any of those salads with Mayonnaise and relish. The Irony is that when I was in the Navy I had to make those recipes in the 20 gallon range for my fellow sailors on Ranger then Kitty Hawk.
haha i've watched many of your vids and you make me laugh everytime!
I feel like you started with the ultimate episode
4:52
Awe hell naw I ain't seen sh*t
What divides us is culture, not race. That's why the term "one of the good ones" exists. It's a thinly veiled statement that you embrace "our" culture, not "their" culture. At the end of the day we are all just humans. Any divisions amongst us are either ideological or are non-existent.
There are three more episodes of Black Jeopardy. There's one with Elizabeth Banks, one with Drake and one with Louis CK.
George Carlin had a bit about the phrases 'happens to be' and 'openly'. It was about having a friend who 'happens to be' a particular race or someone being 'openly' gay. The bit ended with Colin Powell being openly white, he just happens to be black. Maybe MrLboyd should look into that.
