Wallace & Gromit will always be one of my favourite Aardman characters, and I truly love the background history of Nick Park's groundbreaking career in animating A Grand Day Out. Now I wish to read the full script (if it still exists)...
A Grand Day Out is by far my favourite Wallace and Gromit film. It's like you can't stop watching it and it's so satisfying to see the animation. Nobody else can do what Nick Park did
I would like to see what someone, just as passionate as Nick Park, can accomplish with the Wallace and Gromit IP. Claymation, no CGI even if it means less chances for funding.
A truly British institution - utterly brilliant, always love Wallace and Gromit! RIP Peter Sallis, whom I first knew of in Last of the summer wine. Thank you, Nick Park for this wonderful gift that all children - and adults, too absolutely adore!
It’s so sad that those old clay models used in the first three Wallace and Gromit movies are now gone. They were all lost in a fire, along with the storyboards.
I am a scale model builder. I've worked for many of the largest architectural firms in the world. Restored beautiful models of classic buildings for special exhibits. Exhibits that have traveled the world. I've even worked for Kermit the Frog on several of his, and his friend's, film adventures. - but if there's one place I really wish I had worked - even if it took six full years before the project is completed, it would have been Aardman. Beautiful work. Incredible detailing. Imaginative everything. I truly envy that I've never had this experience. I would have worked there for a piece of cheese.....
Those are some lovely childhood memories! Watched this as a kid on VHS and the journey to the moon was so impressive. Thanks for this masterpiece. Greets from Germany
Funny thing is , Today 2022 I am a huge fan, at 50 something, My sons , grand daughter. Such wonderful work and such enjoym7to watch. Glad Nick had his dream fulfilled. His dream takes us all on a wonderful journey
Rest in peace Peter Sallis 😢. I've done stop-motion on and off and when I mention it it's like "stop motion" *not a clue*. "Wallace and Gromit" now they got it :P
This was and still is my absolute favorite episode of Wallace & Gromit I was born in 1996 and still was introduced to these amazing films ❤️ love each and every one of them
Like Wallace with the help of his rocket - Nick flew out of his old life, making his progress towards his bright future. And words cannot describe how happy I am for him.
I wanted to share with you that these short movies are my absolute favourite : I watch them every year at least once! Made me appreciate so much more the hard work behind animation. Thank you so much, Wallace and Gromit!
Trying stop motion myself in my highschool days was what gave me a true appreciation for the amount of time and effort that must've gone into making Wallace and gromit. I'd loved it since I was probably about 5-6 after my grandad introduced me to it and I never knew until I tried making a short 1 minute stop motion clip that the amount of time and effort it takes even for something with extremely jagged and rushed and fairly simple movements like what I made and I truly gained a new level of appreciation for the work that went into creating this national treasure.
Knowing that this just started as a college project and became a full on British icon series still befuddles me. Nick Park really worked his way to the top to distribute under Dreamworks and did a cracking good job! I am hungry for more and will be patiently awaiting the 2024 Wallace and Gromit film.
@@Alizudo A year late, but yes! It's gonna premiere on BBC in Britain and Netflix worldwide this coming Christmas! There's a teaser trailer for it on RUclips!
Thank you Mr. Nick Park and Aardman for creating Wallace & Gromit as a part of my childhood. When I watched Wallace & Gromit shorts including the film called The Curse of Were-Rabbits several days ago, I felt enjoyable when watched it back. Hope that Aardman and Nick Park still continue with Wallace & Gromit projects. I am always looking forward with Aardman projects too. :)
In the future, I would love to see a docu-drama movie about Nick Park and Aardman, much like An Adventure In Space and Time for the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary, or The Theory of Everything movie about the life of Professor Stephen Hawking.
While I prefer a Close Shave, I still think the work that was done here was very impressive enough. I watched it a lot as a kid and loved it, and still do to this very day. Wallace & Gromit will continue to be a part of my life for years to come.
0:20 Not only was Gromit originally meant to be a cat, he was also gonna be voiced by Peter Hawkins before the idea was dropped, it is unknown if any of the sound such as Gromit weeping, growling or yelping in the shorts were done by Peter Hawkins. Plus Gromit's name was inspired by Nick Park's older brother who was an electrician and could often be heard talking about grommets - rings or washers used in the trade, Nick thought this would make a great name for his canine creation. Wallace was originally a postman called Jerry, but Nick felt the name didn't fit with Gromit.
