Fun stuff. A year ago, I was in Dallas and drove out of my way just to go to Possum Kingdom State Park and drive around there playing the song off my old Toadies CD and making videos of it; I put some of them on Instagram. It was way out in the middle of nowhere, but worth it. I bought a Possum Kingdom mug and now I drink my coffee out of it every morning.
I’m from the area the band originates from and spent many summers at my grandparents house on the lake. My great great grandfather helped build the dam that created it. This song was a huge part of my childhood in the early 2000’s and the more I learned about the band the more I was felt connected to this song. Awesome video, I love your interpretation of it!
Great video..I grew up on the north end of the lake and this video has taken me back to the late 70's when my buddies and I ran all over the lake in our first cars AKA [ Boats]. Hell's Gate is worth the drive just to see. When they built the dam to create the lake, it flooded an Indian village called Pic Wic and we were told that its been haunted ever since.
There must've been a lot of opossums there at one time for them to name it Possum Kingdom? I've had Virginia opossums at pets and I like them better than dogs.
Fun fact, Possums are in Australia not the US. Opossums (yes, you're supposed to pronounce the O) are what inhabit the US. The 2 animals are related, but in a twist, the Australian variant isn't the bigger, creepier variety.
@@kerrychambers1799 the lyrics dont make sense for that though.. i know that’s what they’ve said but i think either they’re lying or the two arent mutually exclusive
I know I totally always thought it was about a vampire. But then I saw an interview about it and I had never seen the video so I went and watched it and listened to the lyrics as I normally do then it made more sense that way. But truly to me when I’ve always heard it I automatically thought oh yep gotta be a song about a vampire.

When I'm asleep make sure my blanket covers me
I always thought the song was about a vampire offering to make his love into a vampire so they can live together forever

Nice editing bro! Very well put together!
That was cool man. Thanks for the effort, I rather enjoyed it. Spot on with the music. I come from the water.
Just subscribed, we thought that was about the most interesting video we seen today, don't know why you don't have more subscribers
I just can't get this tune outta my mind 😂🤣😂
I thought they said it was about a serial killer.

Cool video. Next time you’re there checkout the little mud crabs along the shoreline.

Scientific definition a “a” and how it became “”as” as it turns into “ass”. Must see Linsey lmao.
Must see linsey..... hey I don't make the rules....
I'll show you my dark secrets 😉
Looks haunted by the same spiritual ideals that roasted Maui.
Your take was fun.
Happy Howl o ween.
I love the Toadies. Nice interpretation, but not even close to mine.
Pretty cool man. I dig it.

I ❤ the song. I interpret it as a serial killer song and music video, like a mini movie, short film with the song as the soundtrack.
Give us the og thumbnail back or I will riot
Hey Cool Video, Man..I just learned this song on my guitar now I wanna know what this song is about! Subbed. Meow.

Song’s about a vampire
I thought so too until they were interviewed but it’s actually about a serial killer

Nice take but the timeline is whacked, the song preceded the fire of 2011.
