Saw the amazing musical yesterday here in New York City. Not taking away anything from Matthew Morrison and the cast, but from the first note of the songs, all I could hear was Gary in all the songs. The piano, the lyrics, the music, everything! I guess that is what happens when you have been a Gary Barlow and Take That fan for ever! :)
You decided it was you and your partner's song AFTER they passed? 🤔 It may be your personal song, but don't pretend they had any say. Don't put words in dead people's mouths - it's quite disrespectful.
Major earworm since I heard a snippet in the trailer for "Fnding Neverland." Saw the preview show last week and this song is absolutely a standout. In context within the play, it's heartbreaking.
I have mixed feelings about the changes they made. I wish they had kept Peter's fourth verse and the swell of the orchestra at the beginning of the second chorus. I like the change to the end though, with Peter and Barrie singing back and forth.
The singer is amazing. However, this version is a bit problematic. Not because of the way it is sung, which is great, but because of the changes introduced to the actual song, which deprive its actual meaning. The song is a duet between two people with completely opposite views and feelings. It is a conversation between them, and in the last chorus they both sing at the same time their completely contrasting views (their parts are different). This rendition, however, makes one singer sing both parts while obliviating the fact we actually hear two opposite approaches and feelings. In addition, in the last chorus you only hear one part instead of both, so the listener cannot identify two competing views and feelings, thus not getting the utter meaning of the song.
He actually co-wrote this song and all the other music from Finding Neverland. It is meant to be a duet, you’re right, but I think the original version was not meant to be. Ellie Goulding also did a cover when the full album got covered by various artists. That’s a solo, too.
@@misticgirl269 Interesting. I did not know he actually wrote this song. However, I still feel this rendition deprives an important aspect of the song.
Madly in love with Gary's voice

In one of the Crooner Sessions, Gary is singing this as a duet. Maybe you'd prefer that version to this one ;)
@@edanlaron5552Sorry, do you know if he co-wrote it or wrote it by himself only? Cause in credits he is mentioned as the only author.
What ever the song is supposed to be I love it
