He proved his power translates at Super Bantamweight so there's nothing stopping him from moving up to Featherweight and becoming a 5 division champ next year. If his power continues to translate at higher weights, he could potentially secure titles in several more divisions. His potential is off the charts.
I once commented that Inoue has the comparative power of Tyson, the defensive skills of Mayweather and the quickness and aggressiveness of Pacquiao. Inoue and Shohei could be one of the best if not the greatest ever in their respective sports. To me, what’s equally as impressive besides their physical prowess and talents is their humbleness and humility. No trash talking, taunting, or bad attitudes. Just hard work, discipline, and letting their results do all of the talking.
I wonder if it has to do with the culture they grew up in. From what I've seen and heard, children in Japan tend to be far more respectful of people than children in a lot of other places. I think there's a bigger emphasis on that in Japanese culture.
Asians have high IQ, they don’t need to boast, remain humble. Other races have lower IQ, have to blast to hide inferiority. It’s nothing to be alarmed about tho, just Mother Nature.

Quite a fighter..glad he showed up on my feed. I was that skinny kid in school who knew how to box a little. I also wrestled but I went to 3 different middle schools and 3 different High Schools and I always had to either swallow my pride and allow people to bully me or get them to meet off school grounds to pug it out. It only took a few fights to shut the bullies up but I began to see nerds getting picked on so I defended them. To this day, many years later, the friends I have are the nerds from High School.
One of the most glanced over attributes of Naoya Inoue, is his strategy. Part of that strategy is his aggressive style. It allows him to dictate the fight, it's HIS fight, you can see it on his face. He always forces his opponents to react to him. He downloads the data from each exchange, to be used against them, at the most appropriate time. We witness a variety punches and combinations but they are not unto themselves. They are series of purposeful blows in a well planned strategy, leading to an opponent's demise. His team is quietly overlooked but an undeniable contributor to his success. His most important strategy is, "He always has a plan, even after getting punched in the face".
My favourite fighter. Incredible anticipation, speed, control of range, made possible by his legs and brain. The arms aren't too bad either with KO power on both sides from different angles. Granite chin, heart of a warrior, old school gentleman who stayed true to his roots. He's like a cross between Crawford and Gervonta Davis but 8kg lighter. Inoue, Usyk, Crawford, Davis, Fury is my top 5
Naoya is my wifes cousin on her fathers side. Ive met him many times. We are so honored the mighty Mike Tyson would call Naoya out for his boxing skills! That is an honor and thank you. Im 6' 3" and study MMA, when first meeting Naoya he seems very small but WOW can he strike and move! Hes a really nice guy and extremely devoted to what he puts his mind to in ways very far ahead of most others in his sport. Our family are very proud! Thank you SO much for the video Boxing Matrix 🙏💯
I think a lot of people try to discredit Inoue for having a close fight with a past-prime Donaire, but I think they're missing the real point: the only way to even remotely touch Inoue is to have vast experience, technique, and power. It's not enough to be a slick counter puncher. It's not enough to be a heavy-handed brawler. You have to be at least as versatile as Inoue, and that's a BIG ask. Yet even then, Inoue's improved dramatically since his first fight with Donaire, showing new wrinkles that have made the gap between him and other boxers ever wider. His head-movement and clinch-fighting ability has improved. His already stellar footwork and jab are even sharper. Any weakness people have tried to identify in him, Inoue rectifies and then proceeds to excel past. He's truly a monster of modern boxing.
Inoue uses each fight to gain knowledge to constantly improve himself. I'm sure, even though he won easily against Fulton, he'll analyze the fight and pick out places where he failed to connect or avoid some his punches.
@@marvinmurakami8828 That's exactly what makes Inoue so terrifying. Usually the concern with dominant fighters is that they'll get arrogant, rest on their laurels, and pay for their hubris. But Inoue shows no real sign of that. He always knows there are places and ways he can improve, and it shows.
Donaire was 36 during that first fight, but a 36 yrs of age, is not yet old, that is an excuse, Manuel Marquez was 39 when he knockout Pacquiao, He is 5 years older than Pacquiao
Agree. Another skill Inoue has worth noting is how effortlessly he can disentangle himself when an opponent try to clench and tie him. Pacquiao failed to neutralize Mayweather's excessive holding. Their fight could have turned differently if he did.
Not similar at all Nonito is Flat Footed more of a pressure fighter similar to Mexican Style kinda boring but when he delivers its brutal his punches pack so much power.
He has been my P4P #1 since he KO'd Donaire in that 2nd fight. His recent win against Fulton further solidifies it for me, that he is far and away the best boxer in the world right now.
@@francoisleclerc112 I love Beterviev, great fighter with a lot of power. But come on man. Not even close. He's stayed light heavyweight his whole career.
That guy should be called the ninja, because he's so fast and none of his opponents seens his hands hitting them , unbelievable fighter got to be one of the best ever,
The punches the impressed me most on this first viewing of Inoue were those short lefts that knocked his opponent down. He seems to producing deadly power with these punches. They certainly are more than a straight left, but look to me like a very compact left hook that is so fat it delivers knock out power before the opponent can block or avoid it. A pleasure to watch.
The Inoue clan (井上氏, Inoue-shi) was a samurai clan which came to prominence from the late Kamakura through Edo periods in Japanese history, descending from the Seiwa Genji.
What an amazing fighter, and good man. he has a lot of skill and a lot of character at the same time. His ability to concentrate is incredible. I think his fights with the great Doniare made him a great fighter.
Two things: One, he has a great chin. And two, I haven't seen a straight right that fast and effective since a young Ali. His speed and power are off the charts.
I think his win on Donaire really matured his boxing IQ and grew the "monster." Now, he's a wrecking machine and Fulton felt that enhancement first hand. SHORYUKEN! 💯
If only people knows how inoue trains, people minds will be blown, and the reason why inoue hits so hard, inoue is the epitome of the perfect boxer coz he gains his speed and strength through training and hardwork unlike other boxers that they’re already strong and fast but still they can’t defeat inoue…
I so people say about him, that his the smallest guy. But this is the result of ambition and discipline, that old japonez discipline, how samurai where made up
He is an amazing artist, figured out, focused, fast, and powerful. Looking forward to more of his fights, I think he steps up the game big-time and I think he's a good person as well. Cheers to all from BC Canada!
Monster is one of the best body punchers of the last 10-15 years, it is the power to the body that sets up the finish. Also, whilst he has a very good chin the reality is that he rarely gets hit clean, and when he does he is often moving away which weakens the power of the shot. Following this weekend whose is the P4P king Monster or Crawford?
Monster for me. He is just more clean and technical and more accurate and power. Better distance control, can fight outside, inside, can brawl or out box you and do it all with such a clean style that is just beautiful to watch. He is like what I consider the perfect Orthodox boxer to be. Crawford is crazy good but he has a more unique/less orthodox style and not as nice to watch as Inoue. That is not a put down of Crawford, but just super praise for inoue. Crawford still number 2 p4p but stylistically inoeu is just IT for me personally. Of course other will disagree, and that's fine as long as they put inoeu number 2 haha. Who do you have as p4p after Crawford fight?
People conveniently forget that Donaire dropped Nordine Oubaali in the 4th round to become champion again, after the first Inoue fight. Oubaali was an undefeated champion.
It’s really hard to defeat Naoya because of his talent, powerful punch and he has a lot of stamina if you’re Naoya opponent you’ll be dead if you don’t have that three things, watch out for those hater’s already for Naoya he is really a Monster 👽👽👽😂😂😂yap he has a lot of skills and maybe he can like Manny PAC someday. I like that they don’t seem to clinch much although this is edited and I could be wrong. It would be just like Japan to not want to do that and think it is cheating/weak/dishonorable. Love so much about Japans honor codes.
This is why i like boxing over MMA. There is respect between fighters. When the opponent goes down you dont immediately start trying to end their live and beating them when they are down, there is honor in letting your opponent get back up and defeating them TOE TO TOE standing.
His ability to push jab through the gaurd to is just the set up for the overhand right to the ear...seeing this is just a reminder of how precise his punches are which then allow him to land the power shots with both hands, his head and bodywork v fulton just gone was fast AF...able to land both and get out out of range for the counter shot... As anyone who has an interest in boxing can see Inoue is different in ways that Ali was different from any other boxers of his time. I am also watching boxing again having become somewhere between bored and exasperated by the likes of Chris Eubank Jr. and his performing dad’s nonsense. Inoue is so different that he appears almost super human. His speed, his punching accuracy and his perfect balance and timing are simply extraordinary to behold. Add to that the unbelievable power of his punches and his instinctive ability to sense when the time is right to finish his opponents and you have a boxer who will be difficult if not impossible to defeat whilst he is still in the boxing business. My only concern is that one of his challengers will suffer serious permanent injuries if not worse. He is both mesmerising and frightening. His nickname “monster” is about right. Perhaps he’s an android?

Inoue definitely has the most potential out of all active pro fighters. He definitely deserves his current rank in the top 3 best p4p fighters!
I'd say Crawford has the most potential. But Inoue is in the conversation.
@@johnmcpherson1713 Inoue is a 30 year old 4 division champ, was Undisputed at Bantamweight. His next fight will likely be for Undisputed at Super Bantamweight against Marlon Tapales.
That would make him and Crawford the only two fighters to be Undisputed in two divisions. He proved his power translates at Super Bantamweight so there's nothing stopping him from moving up to Featherweight and becoming a 5 division champ next year. If his power continues to translate at higher weights, he could potentially secure titles in several more divisions. His potential is off the charts.
Inoue no
I watched a video on this dude ages ago and people are still talking about him. Legend
He is very agile and he is very observant and focused. I think that's his greatest strength.
I once commented that Inoue has the comparative power of Tyson, the defensive skills of Mayweather and the quickness and aggressiveness of Pacquiao. Expectedly, fellow Filipino boxing "fans" ganged up on me claiming Pacquaio and other Filipino boxers are the greatest.
I hope one day boxing fans can appreciate a fighter's greatness regardless of nationality, color and race.
defensive skills of mayweather is a stretch. I agree on everything else. Maybe the defensive skills of Pretty Bot Floyd but Money Mayweather barely got hit
He's good defensively but not on a masterclass level as Mayweather...On the other hand, his footwork, speed, timing and shot selection is other worldy.Hes always in position to throw good shots. His style is different
@@poindextertunesI agree Mayweather's defensive prowess was great but he was defensively vulnerable against fighters who were aggressive and relentless. Cases in point we're the first fights with Castillo and Maidana, which not a few people thought he both lost. We can only speculate what would have happened if Castillo and Maidana had the ring IQ, power, speed and defensive skills of Inoue. Of course we can only speculate😀😀.
@@eduardodelfin9162you missed the part where those guys were extremely physical with him and were bigger. They also didn’t mind being a little dirty.
@@tcincali9642 the same can be said of Mayweather. He is not an epitome of clean fighting as well. What I am just pointing out is Mayweather's vulnerability against aggressive, relentless and non-stop punching fighters. Don't get me wrong though, I one of his fans, specially the younger version of him.
@@joshleenall Of course it does. Performance is always connected to the culture you grew up in. Cultures rise and fall, some are at their height. I wouldn't say most Western countries are at their height right now.

Inoya is a fighter you don’t talk about.. he just does his thing. Great fight, great boxing, perfect timing for him. Can’t wait to see where he goes next with his career.. and his little brother has been doing well too.
He is even more amazing because you look at him and what he does is surprising. His power is incredible. If Tyson is impressed, then so am I.
Inoue is the face of boxing now, the monster is very exciting to watch. He fights toe to toe just like his idol Pacman.😊
His fights are exciting to watch
Naoya is my wifes cousin on her fathers side. Ive met him many times. We are so honored the mighty Mike Tyson would call Naoya out for his boxing skills! That is an honor and thank you.
Im 6' 3" and study MMA, when first meeting Naoya he seems very small but WOW can he strike and move! Hes a really nice guy and extremely devoted to what he puts his mind to in ways very far ahead of most others in his sport.

There is no one yet to beat him,he is up there all on his own.
The way he lands shots and slides back out of range gives off major Muhammad Ali vibes. His skill is just off the charts.
I agree you must at least have a lot of power to have a chance to beat Inoue. It's very rare in lower weight class, yet Donaire has that power.
Donaire was 36 during that first fight, but a 36 yrs of age,
is not yet old,
that is an excuse,
Manuel Marquez was 39 when
he knockout Pacquiao,
He is 5 years older than Pacquiao
Agree. Another skill Inoue has worth noting is how effortlessly he can disentangle himself when an opponent try to clench and tie him. Pacquiao failed to neutralize Mayweather's excessive holding. Their fight could have turned differently if he did.
Truly earned his title as the pride of Japanese boxing, I cant wait to watch his next fight.
The most defining moment is his fight with Donaire. They are very similar. Donaire also chases the finish. That was the passing of the guard.
The torch is passed, the guard is changed
Yeah too bad Donaire was 10 years older and towards the end of his career
Not similar at all Nonito is Flat Footed more of a pressure fighter similar to Mexican Style kinda boring but when he delivers its brutal his punches pack so much power.
No passing of the torch. Its more of a torch extinguished by a volcano.

A pleasure to watch.
strange because the last guy seems te barely be fazed by them

Monster is one of the best body punchers of the last 10-15 years, it is the power to the body that sets up the finish. Also, whilst he has a very good chin the reality is that he rarely gets hit clean, and when he does he is often moving away which weakens the power of the shot.
Following this weekend whose is the P4P king Monster or Crawford?
Impressive accurace when Inoue hits oponent body.
