Their "Romeo and Juliet" and "Esmeralda" is also captivating. Tessa and Scott are skilled skaters, but I think their programs lack a little originality.
@@cathyzhang7146Lack of originality? I don’t think so at all. On the contrary, Scoot and Tessa were so original that in this exhibition Scott and Tessa perfectly represented all the characteristics of Spanish Flamengo, doing so with excellent choreography, and not even forgetting the re-presentation of tap dancing. And Scott and Tessa’s outfits and 6:12 makeup were totally matched with the Spanish Flamenco.
I have watched this program countless times and from different angles, and even different competitions and I still cannot for the life of me figure out how Scott and Tessa do that lift at 1:53 It's not only a blind lift for her ( as in she is not facing him, so there are no physical cues, just the counts from the music and her complete trust in him), but he has to place his hands just so, perfectly between her legs, and she has this massively voluminous skirt on! Add the fact the doesn't seem to grab on to any part of him ( no grabbing hands or arms), AND there is a full twist of Tessa's body UPSIDE DOWN!! This seems to be just as difficult if not more so than their famous lift in Moulin Rouge. Leaves me cheering every time!
@redgillis3 AND they did the lift as they were both skating backwards. And once they are in position, both her hands are out and she’s even doing so artistic wrist/hand swirling. Another more recent team did this lift at the competition and I remember the commentators had no appreciation of how difficult it was and basically said they thought it was a weird lift. I felt bad for that team. I immediately recognized the lift.
VirtueMoir are just spectacular!!! It could be that no one will ever reach their level of artistry, athletisme, musicality, synchronicity, variety, technical skills, elegance, charisma and connection. The greatest of all time! Thank you Olympics for uploading their videos:)
Although performed before the Olympics, this dance with its remarkable unison step sequence - how could they dance separately but so precisely - has always been "a line in the sand" in possibility in ice dancing. There is ice dancing before this performance and then what followed. Things changed forever.
Scott and Tessa proved, in this wonderful display, that they were two excellent Ice Dancing Athletes, and both were equal in their multiple skills to perform this form of ice dancing. In fact, Scott and Tessa complemented each other perfectly, so they deserved each other. None of them were better than the other, they complemented each other. And they were extremely fearless, daring and innovative in their multiple exhibitions. Congratulations to Scott and Tessa , and many thanks for the beautiful moments of artistic expression that they give us the pleasure of enjoying.
Wow ! Here we see Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue completely unbeatable. A spectacular display, a perfect representation of a Spanish "Paso Doble" in a dance on the ice, and in which Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue expressed and lived a perfect "SALERO". Scott was unbeatable in this performance, giving all SALERO to his performance, and with Tessa accompanying him at the same pace. A display full of speed and rhythm. Congratulations to these two magnificent Figure Skating Athletes. They have music and dance in their souls, and talent, certainly accompanied by great resilience, discipline and a lot of determination to achieve your goals . This couple of skaters were very innovative in the Art of Figure Skating, because they were not afraid or complex to be themselves, to express all their sensuality and musicality in their displays, but, in all cases doing so with immense elegance. Much, or almost everything, that Scott and Tessa did on the ice, seems to be a result of their personality characteristics and skills, also the result of a lot of spontaneity in his way of being, but also accompanied by the way they knew how to use their talents with a high level of emotional intelligence. My sincere wishes that they will both be very happy in their future lives, as they have both already given a lot to Society, through the Art of Dancing on Ice, which is also a Form of Cultural Expression, and since in the difficult moments of Life, Culture It is a source of Individual and Collective Salvation, because it helps immensely in overcoming difficulties.
Clearly underscored. Scott and Tessa were magnificent in the current exhibition. Just watch a session of Spanish Sevillanas flamengo ballet to see how in about 4 minutes Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue perfectly characterized and executed all the characteristics of Spanish Flamengo, not even missing the representation of tap dancing. An excellent exhibition expressing the PASSION and BOLD that Scott and Tessa showed in many of their exhibitions.
Desde Argentina felicito a esta genial pareja , no puedo creer lo virtuosos , aplicados y magnífico que son . 👏 aplaudo a Tessa y Scott . Abrazo desde mi Amado país Argentina. Pido disculpas por no saber el idioma de ellos.

It's funny how Zoueva used sth G&G related for both RD and FD of V&M at 2010 Olympics. Begining of this piece was G&G's SP in Lillehammer and V&M's Mahler is an happy continuation to G&G's Mahler back in 1995.
I think Tessa and Scott's Malher program is a tribute to GG. If one observes carefully, the choreography of VM is made up of a few elements taken from the farewell show created for Sergei, by Ekaterina "the celebration of life" which is of remarkable sadness and beauty. Ekaterina dances alone with Sergei's shadow. I absolutely recommend seeing it.
@@rosanishina5097 Actually I'm a huge fan of G&G I've seen it a million times. G&G's Mahler is not only a farewell to Sergei, it was in fact the routine they wanted to perform for the first time on that year's SOI. But unfortunately Sergei passed away only 4 days before 1996 SOI starts.
@@HausdorffLover So we have things in common. I'm also a huge GG fan and how could it be otherwise? They are one of the brightest, most sensitive, most talented couples in the history of figure skating. The youthful and ravishing grace of Eketerina as well as her inimitable lightness have no equivalent. The harmony and delicacy that emanates from their programs has never been approached in their discipline. The tragedy that struck this couple and this family is terrible. Gustave Mahler by writing his symphony makes life triumph even as he recovers from his illness in real life. Sergei was not so lucky. I always watch Tessa and Scott's Malher with great emotion, because I love them infinitely. This program is one of my favorites, I see them stepping onto the ice then stopping, like Ekaterina, raising their intertwined hands to the sky, like her. It's a tribute to the crossroads of past and present, an evocation of life and death. It is a hymn to life and to the love that continues (Malher's fiancée is called Alma, which means "soul". GG are timeless just like this Olympic moment when the youth and freshness of Tessa and Scott did full justice to these lovers of the past.
Tessa and Scott discuss this in their book - Marina had them listen to boxes and boxes of folk dance music, and this was the only piece of music that they liked. Marina told them that G&G skated to this music and Tessa thought that was so cool.
