I had that figure, never have I transformed a Transformer more. It's complicated, but in a logical way. Praying a KO company does Blackout cause the new MPM is LITERALLY PERFECT.
@@MrGojira95 I got SS Blackout in 2018 and he was my all time favorite Transformer. Unfortunately I lost him mysteriously and have no idea where it went except maybe the Backrooms lol. But now I just got a used SS Grindor (without Ravage) for only $35 and he's AWESOME. New hands are what I needed in my life and the DNA design was crap because it only attached, couldn't Transformer it with them on. But my friend just bought be SS Blackout as a belated Birthday Present. I prefer Blackout's Helicopter mode so I'll have that in Copter mode and Grindor in Robot Mode. I WILL be getting that MPM eventually. Hope a 4th Party company will somehow make improvements to it or give it the best paintjob ever.
The old 2007 version is kinda accurate to the game version as Blackout used his main rotor blades as a weapon instead of the smaller rotor blades like in the movie
Scorponok can still go on SS Blackout's robot mode at the back between the rotors kinda like on the 2007 toy (without the 'cage' bit) if you spread the blades apart and there's a hole under Scorponok to place him on the small round post on Blackout's back. I give the 2007 figures some credit because they were designed before the first movie was finished and released and Hasbro hadn't yet had much experience with this very different aesthetic and a return to realistic vehicle modes. So to be as fun toys as they were was good enough for the time. And the comparison between 2007 Leader Optimus and RotF Optimus often rightfully used as a great example of how much they had got the hang of the designs by the second film's toyline. The 07 Optimus is still very much a fun toy in it's own right but the RotF figure really did an amazing thing making a much more accurate robot mode form out of that truck. SS Blackout is a huge improvement (even if we did have to wait over a decade). The hands and feet do bug me. I got third party clip on hands which are nice but nothing improved the feet (I wish they could be like the OS KO by Wei Jiang but ah well never mind). Overall the figure looks fantastic in both modes. And yeah Studio Series of course is the longest running movie line since it's not just promoting one movie but celebrating all five Bay movies, the 'Beewun' film and has the subline SS86 for the animated movie as well so plenty to draw from to keep the line going for a while further. Enjoyed this video. I liked how you found extra things to like about SS Blackout during the transformation too.
Studio series blackout frustrated me because he looks great, but the transformation is extremely fiddly and the helicopter mode doesn't stay together well
Studio series is the longest running subline of all time. I think generations has been going on since like 2009 or 10 but all those sublines never lasted more than a year and a half and studio series is about to be on its fourth year
@@thearbiter2366 the plastic that makes up the thighs and forearms on black out are a darker color, the color of his head is different (all silver), and the decals for helicopter mode are different, hes got rust on his wirst area, skirt, and on that circle thing above his head, they also remolded that spot where you hook up scorpinock to store ravage. Other than all that hes basically the same Edit: his hands not only have a wrist rotation now but hinge joints on his 2 upper fingers so he can make a fist now
@@debatenothing5676 Wait he’s got finger articulation now that’s awesome, also interesting that remolded the scorponok part is it for ravage or did they basically just remove it entirely?

Aside from the quirks of the mold, SS08 Blackout was worth every bit of that fifty bucks he originally ran for...I was lucky and caught him "on sale" that knocked him down to just $45. (Lame 10% off sale...)
I was denied getting blackout from a Sears because my dad had a buy somethingh from Sears after we were gonna go to target but I found black out and it’s price tag said $30 and I was really excited because I didn’t have a blackout because he was sold out everywhere but when we went to buy him it was 60 I showed the cashier and the employees that he was on a price tag that said 30 there was no $60 price tag but they didn’t budge and so I left without a black out but finally got this mold as grindor
In my honest opinion, I don’t think his mold works for SS Grindor. Grindor was much larger than Blackout and he transformed into a different copter. After seeing how SS Grindor is a repaint of Blackout, I think I’m just gonna use it as my official Blackout, with SS Blackout as one that I keep at my desk. SS Grindor’s paint is much nicer and they solved the issue with his hands! Hands down, my definitive Blackout, not Grindor.
Guess you have to hunt multiple Target stores; the app is completely useless, as it only shows the listing sold by TFSource...worst of all, those clowns are charging $192!! ($191.99, to be precise) The main Target I go to never got MPM13 Blackout. Then again, they never got MPM12 Bumblebee Movie Optimus Prime, either. They DID get MPM10 2007 Starscream & MPM11 2007 Ratchet, which didn't stick around long. (flew off shelves and remained sold out...and that was BEFORE they got clearance priced to oblivion)
I think we will get Studio Series Grindor soon, which is literally a reuse version of Blackout but he will have hand swivel, and other improvements as well.
i can give you that chineese version, i do repaints using automotive acrilic quality paint and airbrush, leaders are not easy becouse all size of figures needs a complete disasembly in order to do the job right :)

The person who designed SS Blackout... I wonder how their brain works. That transformation makes my inner soul scream in pain.
It's actually simple. As long as you practice it and know how to deal with clearance, very fun
I don’t like transforming him because I feel like he’s gonna break if I do transform him, and he has a crack on him already and I just got him
