It was great to meet you in person during the show, thank you for the Ambrosias, they were fun to discover and listen to, and for the Green label Black Sabbath.
Interesting haul David you really scored. On the Motown vinyl; the word as I understand it is that the OG Motown were generally crap. Party records abused, cheap bad pressings so the sound quality is usually bad. The '80s reissues were much better sonically as the master tapes were good recordings and therefor the reissue is better overall. Norman Greenbaum LOL, I was in Mexico on a school trip when 'Spirit in the Sky' was in heavy rotation on the radio. The DJ for Radio Capital's intro every time he played it brought smiles to our faces as he fired off artist and title in a heavy Spanish accented AM Radio DJ voice " Radio Capital! Norman Greenbaum Spirit in De Sky!!" To this day that's what I hear every time that song is played.
Saturday I went to a vinyl shop that was inside of one of those antique malls where the cashier is not the owner. They had a Dave Matthews Band Live at the Hollywood Bowl box set I picked up for $69 and that thing usually is over $150. VG++/NM condition, the records themselves were NM. In ANY CASE, the guy had a Buckingham Nicks album. He had the hard stuff to find like the BN and DMB stuff in a glass case. I can't remember what he was asking for the BN, so I just e-mailed him. The sleeve was NM, if I remember right. I hope I can get that thing from him, I've got to go to Raleigh this weekend for the Audio Advice show, so that'll be convenient. David, you said that the one you saw was a promo. How could you tell that at a distance like that? I've asked the guy for details, I'd like to pick it up if it's a OG. Thanks
@@aa5az423 in Dallas area? If so, could have been NTX Vinyl? If so that’s GI Sanders who was an early guest on this channel? The Buckingham Nicks cover didn’t match the original exactly and there was writing on the top about it being demo sessions.
I tried to make it out there David but unfortunately I was unable to work a ride out. I'm glad that they are having the record show more often than they used to now. I'm trying to plan for the next one and I know sooner or later I'm going to be able to get out there and spend the day looking through records. Thanks for the video... Brian in Fort Worth 🎶
Oooh , I have a copy of "streets of fire" , fantastic! Also have a" picture sleeve" single of the song "I can dream about you" , I stuck it in the album!
Cool, cool. I was at the same show (after the early bird time), but I pretty much stuck with 45s. There's just so much to look at, and its rough when you've got people crowding the bins. I wish the shows were more frequent. I use to live in northern Virginia where we had monthly shows in nearby Arbutus, MD, and Lancaster, PA.
@@SafeAndSoundTXAudioExcursion None of my copies of the "White Album" were banded. I have the original U.S. release with the Capitol logo, The original Capitol label version on white vinyl and various other Apple label versions. You can see the different songs on any of them, but no banding. Maybe they might have banded special radio station copies? If seen Atlantic LP's which had banded tracks, like on Yes LP's.
I've heard that, but nothing official. I also heard Stevie and Lindsey didn't want it re-released as they weren't proud of it... Again, what I've read...
That was a lot of fun✌️ thanks Dave!
Hi David really like the intro to your video
It was great to meet you in person during the show, thank you for the Ambrosias, they were fun to discover and listen to, and for the Green label Black Sabbath.
Thanks, same here! Looking forward to our vinyl collaboration going forward!
Spirit in the sky song was played at my cousin's funeral it was his favorite very sad story we were the same age
That's a sad memory my friend :(
looks like a fun record show!!
great video.. nice editing and kicking up the production a bit.
I particularly like the bit at 2:47 where the people are walking backwards 😂
@@Jonny_C73 i saw that too

@@SafeAndSoundTXAudioExcursion oh naw, it's in Raleigh, NC. Sorry for that confusion.
The album in the video is Buckingham Nicks Before the Glitter Faded: Rare Demos 1973-74
May I suggest you check your boz scags lp. Those pvc sleeves are notorious for causing bag rash or hazy vinyl!
Will do, thanks!
super nice pick-ups David, especially the 12" singles, i've always loved the 12' singles at 45rpm, they always sound so damn good!

Yes it can be intense and 45's are a big rabbit hole to themselves...
The Beatles "White Album" all had the tracks segued together. If you find a copy which is banded, let us know?
I think my US Capitol has spacing, need to double check...

good value for the asia, love Jeff Lynn , Boz Skaggs, just bought a cd copy of that album
Didn't they both the master and "safety copy" tape of "Buckingham Nicks" are no longer available?😮

the flip side to the finding a record when you have a record is you buy one thinking you don't have and you end up with three lol
And giving that extra copy away as VCLT or a prize on your channel :)
ELO, has a box set out, its worth getting
Have to check that out - I've got all their OG's; is it an AAA vinyl release?
I'm quite surprised how you handle records for a serious vinyl collector, specifically using your fingers.
