I went to see this movie in the theater and when this song came on at the end of the movie, I, along with many others cried our eyes out! I retired from law enforcement a few years ago after 30 years but these brave souls, whom I didn’t know, were my brothers….my then wife bought me a t shirt after this movie just destroyed me to honor those 19 brave men who fought the devil and lost….God bless them and their families!
This is so devastating I didn't know these men or there family's but this touched me on such a humanly fragile soul level. Life's so precious "I'll hold the light" and we will never forget all you've given us. Rest in love❤
I watched the movie a few days ago. My heart has hurt ever since. I didnt know about them until I seen a tiktok video about the movie. I seen the ending before I even got to see it. So I still did. Watched it with my mom. She cried. I just sat there trying to hold back the tears. My throat hurt. I just felt like me crying would be almost wrong. They died for a cause. A cause that they fought to carry on and to protect people. What hurts is the fact that they've left people behind. I can imagine the pain I would feel if it was my own family member that died like that. I feel so much for them. I just cant stop thinking about it.
i was there on that tragic day as a blue ridge squad boss it was my job to bump granite mountains buggies no one saw what was coming at all til this day my fallen 19 brothers are still with us on the lines fighting fires with us mentally and spiritually
This song helps me through hard times. Thanks you to all the firefighters, police officers, and ambulances drivers. The search and rescue technicians too.
In Memory of our fallen American Brothers in Arms who sacrificed all to save others , deepest respect from an Australian Volunteer Bushfire Fighter , Rest in Peace .
Man.. this breaks my heart. I’m friends with Jesse Steed’s daughter and Travis Carter’s daughter as well. It hurts for me to see this and what they’re going through. I had watched the movie and it made me feel absolutely devastated. Rest in piece.
This song gives me chills everytime i listen. Rip: Lt Jeremy "Jax" Williams, Lt Patrick "Pat Rat" Waters, Sgt Brendan "Country Boy" Taylor, 1st Sgt Mike "Big Bear" Andrews, Oscar "Flash" Gonzalez and Raul "Lil Pimpin" Diaz. 1st Sgt Jimmie "Tip" Edmondson still has the light. Hooah

There are no words, some emotions, the kingdom of heaven to you, brothers, we are doing one thing, but sometimes this is a terrible thing for all families on the plonet! Take care of yourself and your families!
Well, I live in the home state of where this took place. My mother actually grew up in the same town. My father was a firefighter, but is now retired and works for the USPS. Being a wildland firefighter is a job I'd like to have, and I've considered it for a few months now. These men died, but not in vain
Hold the Light If it wasn't known, that our love will carry on I will be the wind that echo's on the canyon wall One more day with you, to walk around our neighbourhood We will never know like it was understood We never say goodbye Just let me hold the light If you've given up, I will call an end to this I will be your rock from our perch If you walk the ridge, you will find the marks, the scars Kneel down by the tree, under the city stone We never say goodbye Just let me hold the light We never say goodbye I'll see you on this side Or the other way The desert sun kisses the sky Baby hold the light And keep it in your eyes And promise that you dream with me Beyond the walls of time And when we laid aside Just look up at the light Just let me hold the light Just let me hold the light
God bless those 20 ppl forget that one that liveed he has lots to share obout yarnell hill fire he lived to be able to share that story and GOD just was not fone with him yet

They died because they wanted to fight the fire, not just watch it burn. My understanding is they were safely in the black when (most likely) Marsh asked them if they wanted to cross the valley and try and save a ranch, which they could see from the black. They all must have agreed to get back in the fight when a freak storm caused the horrific winds that fed and pushed the fire onto them. The Granite Mountain Hotshots must be in heaven because if they went to hell, they'd just put it out.
They certainly would. 🤭 I think they just wanted to help in any way they could, risking their lives to save others. It was their job, yes, and they could've stayed safely in the black but didn't. Brendan in his book tells the story from his side but yes, it agrees with your comment and so do I. They wanted to go to the ranch to fight the fire from there but wind shifted and everything went awfully wrong from there: fire surrounded them and all they could do was deploy and pray for the air tank to go put out the fire around them but... well, we know. Marsh's last words still get me. I've listened all the radio transmition (look here in RUclips, I found it here) and still can't believe what happened. 😔 Operations thought they were in the black, but they were on their way to the ranch so Ops and air tank couldn't find them in time to help them. It's awful how misscomunication can ruin everything. 😔

Pure Respect from Mexico
Hold the Light
If it wasn't known, that our love will carry on
I will be the wind that echo's on the canyon wall
One more day with you, to walk around our neighbourhood
We will never know like it was understood
We never say goodbye
Just let me hold the light
If you've given up, I will call an end to this
I will be your rock from our perch
If you walk the ridge, you will find the marks, the scars
Kneel down by the tree, under the city stone
We never say goodbye
Just let me hold the light
We never say goodbye
I'll see you on this side
Or the other way
The desert sun kisses the sky
Baby hold the light
And keep it in your eyes
And promise that you dream with me
Beyond the walls of time
And when we laid aside
Just look up at the light
Just let me hold the light
Just let me hold the light
