Call me a snob but I prefer the pure sound, not the music over the cut. Edit: just to be clear, I love his talking during the cuts. I love all the ambient sounds.
He is certainly right. That is a great haircut!! I grew up in the 60's when flattops were as common as Brill Cream, yet I have never seen one cut. Thanks much for this one Cliff!
Always great video's! Flat-top are not easy, it requires a great deal of patience and a steady hand. Most importantly be confident in your abilities, Cliff sets the bar!
RUclips please don't hate me, Cliff is just so awesome, truly such a nice guy and wonderful experience to spend time in his barbershop and get a haircut from. And you know, if there's one thing I've learned as a barber myself, it's that people will more often keep coming for the overall experience, conversation, and connection with the barber than the actual quality of the haircut. 99% of people don't know what a good haircut is anyway, that's just the unfortunate truth... I barber just up the state from Cliff in Reno and I own half a shop with one other barber who is just a terrible hair-cutter. He rarely spends over 10 minutes on a haircut even though our appointments are for 30 minutes, misses hairs on buzz-cuts, his clipper blades are dull and pull hair, and takes every shortcut he can to turn the chair over...BUT... he has the ability to talk the whole haircut and he remembers peoples names and what the last conversation was about, and people keep calling and making appointments with him even though his work is so bad I won't even let him cut my hair. Just so anybody who cares is aware, just on judging the haircut alone, nothing else, this is not a very good flattop to be honest. Just pause the video at 17:44 and take a good overall look at the silhouette of this haircut. It's too fuzzy on the outer edges, the shape isn't defined and sharp enough, the top really isn't even flat and it's too long. But I understand the customer likes it (which is all that really matters) and he'll be back and it's all part of an experience that is really hard to find anywhere else these days. I personally will admit that I don't have the gift of gab, I don't provide a great overall atmosphere and experience like Cliff, so I pride myself on extreme excellence on my haircuts, I wouldn't be able to let that flattop go out the door.
I used to have a flat top in the mid 80's in the UK. I remember the barber using a 'flat top comb' which was a large wedge shaped comb the size of your head with a spirit level on it. I only had the flat top as Rocky 4 was in the cinema and the Russian Ivan Drago had a flat top. It was in fashion in those days.
Hello Mr Cliff I happen too come across your channel you are absolutely amazing at your craft so relaxing and calming fall asleep in mins too your videos you are very creative and talented keep up the good work big dawg wish I could get a haircut from you that would be wonderful 👍🏽
Cliff great video as always, and love learning new techniques and tips. I hope in the future we will get both tutorial videos and ASMR videos. The ASMR videos would ideally just be the natural audio of the tools and ambience of the shop and the tutorials would be a mix of that, music, and the tips. There’s an audience for both!
Great video as always I LOVE the music , cuts out the god damm awful sound of those clipper ! Without music it’s like sitting in a room while someone in doing the vacuuming on a carpet ! Keep up the scissor work spray and great voice
Hey Cliff, I noticed you use an Oster clipper. have an Oster 76 Classic myself. Do you do your own maintenance and repairs to your clippers? If so, it would be awesome if you made a video about it. Cheers.
At minute 6:24 of this video - The length of hair on top with the extremely short back and sides work really well. I would of left the hair cut at that and just styled the hair on top with some dry look hair product. The customer looks much younger with more hair on top with the short back and sides combo.
Hello Mr. Cliff first off I'd like to say great work excellent haircut second would it be possible for you to show us how to cut a mullet? That would be great! 👍😀
I’d be so scared to cut nice hair like that without a guard, but Cliff is indeed a master. What a nice haircut in the end. Another great educational video for us barbering fans. Thanks Cliff.
Good to see a barber who knows how to cut a variety of haircuts.Ive been a barber for 23 yrs and I'm amazed that a majority of the barbers coming out of barber college these days, don't know how to even cut a flattop.Keep posting these videos cliff.
All these people bitching about the music go watch the other million ASMR videos on RUclips. The man does not do these videos for ASMR purposes. Go play with a hair buzzer or something if youre dying to hear what it sounds like lmao
Stop whinning about music about the cut its about learning and adding to your style and techniques for mastery barbering hes been doing this for years noones perfect people get haircuts that dont fit the shape but the customer is always right thats what matter music no music i aint letting u guys bash him or his work and im going to vegas in a couple months its a western country thing and i enjoy the concept the work the craftsmanship and and creativity and mastery of cliff and if that's a problem u can leave and the cameraman slash editor good job once again for this beautiful video that you put together yu and cliff are artist but the true star is the cut clippers and scissors there barbering in a barbershop and happy valentine's day cliff and camera man
scalped by a white man..lol...not a "dig"...really only adding [jokingly] to the wild west motiff....its a good okay haircut explanation video for a flat-top......maybe even one of the best for that matter.....TY
Keep uploading videos like this and you are going to be big, sir.

texasranger9 This.
The music is a substitute for the sped up sound of the shaver. I'm sure u wouldn't like to listen that?
@@Chillextremist Only the first such segment is sped up, though. At least in one occasion there's music even over Cliff's talking...
I prefer the music over shaver
i agree. music was good but barber sounds are way better
He is certainly right. That is a great haircut!! I grew up in the 60's when flattops were as common as Brill Cream, yet I have never seen one cut. Thanks much for this one Cliff!
What i like about Cliff is that he always work on difficult hair! That is when you show your mastery!
This hair wasn't difficult..
Another perfect haircut. Great, Cliff.

Cliff you are an artist great to watch. May you cut hair for yrs to come my friend. 👍
This man has a big smile on the back of his head :)
That is a man that cares about his work.

This is truly a wonderful channel. Thanks, Cliff for sharing.
This guy is so good. Amazing skill, I really enjoyed this video.
Thanks for another bizzare video Cliff you rock
As someone who watches haircut videos for ASMR purposes (relaxation), I would prefer it without music. Still a great video nonetheless!

I always enjoy the videos. I just wish that I could change my hair cut and still cover the mole on my head.
I cut my own crew cut. I've been doing it the same way. I go a bit shorter on the top.
That was a really good hair cut.

Hello Mr. Cliff first off I'd like to say great work excellent haircut second would it be possible for you to show us how to cut a mullet? That would be great! 👍😀
What wonderful attention to detail. I love it.
Wise Cliff says “To do a flat top you need a flat top comb - a flat top comb is any comb which is flat” if only everything in life was that easy
Amazing as always. Thank you Cliff!
Amazing blending there with the clippers !! :)
Anyone know the song at the 5 minute mark?
Bull Hurley says, "you ain't got a prayer in Vegas! "
Make America great again

I’d be so scared to cut nice hair like that without a guard, but Cliff is indeed a master. What a nice haircut in the end. Another great educational video for us barbering fans. Thanks Cliff.
Obviously, you need a steady hand for this hair cut.
Isn’t that that bull from the over the top movie with Stallone.....
Love these videos but the wait time to get a haircut must be astronomical 🤭🙀 keep up the great work Cliff 👍
the music is disturbing, I wan´t to hear what Cliff is talking about
😎 👊 👍
😍😍😍
Muito fraco na maquina tem que a prender mais.
I think the man in the chair is starting to thin (go bald) at the back where the crown is.
I need another flat top. But it seems I have a bad woogie on my noggin that involves sutures. My wife is pissed off
Hey you don’t charge ?

Thank you for sharing your comment
Would have been better without the music.
maybe move the mic more to him, perhaps with a pin-up mic: 60% of the sound is the electric razor / trimmer for me
Was great, but adding the music killed me. Would have enjoyed just hearing the work and clippers
Listen cliff I think you should take this haircut get up as a professional. Your getting quite good. 😉🤣. Pj Edinburgh Scotland 🏴
Please no music.
❤️🇵🇭✂️
Doesn’t he look like chuck Liddell from ufc lol
no
That guys hair is like a chinchilla
Stop with the music though, sound of the clippers are relaxing!
What the hell with this scissors????
hehe.. hhahahaaa.. HAHAHAHAAA HAhahaHAHAHAHHAA!!!!!
I think the "before" is a better haircut than the "after" on this one.. sorry!
