I cared a lot more about Ringabel and Edea than Tiz and Agnes. Theirs was mostly the by the book romance, while Ringabel and Edea's was a love that endured space, time and universes, even after having lost his memory and Edea not knowing who he really is, they fall in love again anyway. ...even though Edea should have known what Alternis looks like after having spent all her life around him?

Adelle's fits the game best imo, feels right at home alongside the original BD. Elvis gets points for fitting his character best, a peculiar and unique but smooth jam.
I'll be honest, I like Elvis' Black Mage outfit more than his default one. Not that the latter is bad or anything, but his Black Mage look is SO GOOD, and I wish it WAS his default one, as this official art here insinuated. Maybe they'd have to change its color so that it wouldn't get mixed with the Black Mage class if that became the case, but at least give him his hat to keep in his default outfit. Like, seriously, imagine if his Black Mage hat was added to his default outfit and changed to fit its color scheme, it'd look amazing-
I’d like to imagine this video as the bgm for somebody fighting a late game boss, trying to chain specials together, but always being slightly late and just saying “oh fuck it we ball”
This games sound design is so amazing. The themes were easily my favorite parts of BD1 and for them to not really return at least in the same form in BS was so sad. BD2 really brought them back with a bang!
My favorite special move in the game is the bard special. There's something magical about getting a ton of buffs and getting out as many attacks as you can before the music stops playing.

I do that too :D Especially with Pokémon games as the OST always leaks before the game released. I want the music, especially the battle themes, to be a surprise! My friends take the mickey when I ask them not to spoil music by playing it with Discord bots
I love all of these, but I feel like Adelle’s little after animation in her special felt “incomplete” cuz compared to the expressiveness of Elvis and Gloria, it looks like they just made her move her head and brush her hands

I think that might've been the point. After all having two identical themes is like trying to get lightning in a bottle twice. ..you can create similar results, but honestly you can't no matter how hard you try

honestly Glora just suffers from having the most "plain" theme, because in any other series The Princess' Pride (Blossoms in the Rain of Sorrow) would be a top-tier personal theme

You don’t know what it feels like to deep dive into BS’ convoluted lore just for a new game to drop that 1. Can’t access since I don’t have a switch 2. Is apparently completely separate from the prior entries continuity wise
I still prefer all of the first Bravely Default themes than this one but these are all really good too! 😃 Will always love Agnes theme Windward and one day will learn it on a Violin.
It is truly sad that I didn’t hear any of those themes during my playthrough, except for Seth’s One the first time it was introduced, as I thought the buffs from the attacks were too overpowered for an already too easy JRPG...
Eeeh, they're really not that significant, especially compared to any other source of buff, and considering you can't use brave while using a special move too. Really isnt much of a need to hold off on those, imo.
@@poodlep.9719 You’re totally right, the only problem I had with the special moves was that the buffs stacked insanely well with other buffs, and didn’t need to use brave (which is the point of the special attacks, to be a great boost) For exemple, using Shield with a white 4 times on a target boosts the target’s defense to 35%, then using the special attack will bring it to 65% instantly with no cons I wanted a challenge by not using them, and still ended up 2-shooting the final boss with only Gloria, such a disappointment
That sounds more like a “you” problem. You either grind too much or are way too good at breaking the game. Perhaps you’d be interested in a challenge run?

Fuck it, I'm just gonna rank all 8 from the 2 mainline games (Second doesn't count): Edea Ringabel Gloria Tiz Seth Elvis Adelle Agnes Elvis and Adelle get low because Elvis's doesn't fit being a special theme mid-battle even though it's great and Adelle's is low because doesn't fit her character at all. Agnes at the bottom because I hate her character, her English voice, and her boring sounding theme.
Adelle‘s theme intrigues me. Unlike most of the special themes, hers is in 3/4, which makes it different in rhythm from the others. (SPOILERS) Which makes sense, since she’s not human.

I swear using Adelle's special move against the oracle with the dragoon class for the first time gave me goosebumps.

Whatever special I used on him, it was earth element and healed him for like 8000 health lmao. It was so anticlimactic.
