  • I have always wanted to make my own video game - but have never had the skills (or the time). I do use EXCEL far too much, so I thought why not make my own EPIC ADVENTURE RPG game in EXCEL. This is it!

Impressive again! I would like to see a Tower Defense game. Also would you consider detailing how you make these games aswell?

Thank you for watching and your support! A tower defense game has beenadded to the list... I could 100% add details on how I make these games if people are interested? @@TheStoryTeller_Pilgrim

Thought the game’s complete, kinda underwhelming that it’s still in early development with barebones, but still it looks like a really cool project!
Making a complete game on excel must be hard with all those VBA code and stuff, so keep it up!
Also, have you considered to borrow some mechanics from The Dark Room? I think some tricks can be pulled from it as it’s a very simple text-based game.

I wasn’t planning on adding anything else into the game. It’s got victory and game over mechanics, a goal, movement, resources.
Out of interest what is missing for you?
I will check out the Dark Room resource you mentioned :)

The game was inspired to be an Oregan Trail style adventure game.
Maybe you would be more interested in my RPG adventure with battle mechanics and question - check out the ‘I made a Baldur’s Gate like DND game in EXCEL’

@@Dynamic_Pear Well...based on what I've seen, this is a simple resource management game that is very bare bones(but that's probably due to you only shown a portion of the game), the interaction is fairly limited even comparing to the original Oregon Trail.
I'm not trying to undermine your efforts, as making anything that works and looks like a game on Excel with VBA can certainly be much more difficult and tiresome than any other game engines(and you did a good job on it), but to me it's far from being a feature-complete video game(even in 20th century video game standards).
