Yes you do.. Robert Jordan does such a great job with the main characters..be ready for a fun ride! I’ve reread the series multiple times and It gets better with each read.
When you read the series for the second/third/... time, the slog disappears cuz you are not so eager to find out what happens next, and you just enjoy the details of the story
100% agree with you on Perrin, after watching him mope about for like three books basically questioning the same thing over and over, I was done. I’ll admit he got better, but I much preferred literally anyone else’s POV. It probably didn’t help I wasn’t really into the wolf brother thing.
Perrin, for me, is like that person that you used to enjoy, and still fundamental like as a person, but no long enjoy spending time. He hasn't exactly changed, but his circumstances have, and that changes his disposition to the point where he's no longer a person I want to be around. That could change if his circumstances change, but until then...
There were enough good books that I didn't regret reading them, but the thought of reading them all again is... hard to imagine. The slog is very, very real.
Definitely better on a reread. Agreed that books 9-10 are a big drag on the overall series, but still my overall fav series so far. I start Stormlight Archive later this month and Malazan next year. We’ll see if either can unseat WoT in my mind.
I see the Way of Kings in the back😌 I’m on the 2nd book right now. How far are you into the series? I would LOVE to see a review one day😊 I know this video was about WOT but seeing that book in the background felt like an easter egg bc its my favorite book ever
I LOOOOVE THE STORMLIGHT ARCHIVE. I want to release some Sanderson themed videos but I will wait closer to the release of Wind and Truth bc of the algorithm :/ All I’m gonna say is this: Oathbringer is my favorite fantasy novel (or at least one of two) of all time 🥰

I think I have to agree with you on Winters Heart, it was not that good except for the ending 😬 Also I’m surprised you rated Crossroads of Twilight higher, that book is on the same level as Winter’s Heart for me but at least Winter’s Heart had that cool ending, which was at least one redeeming quality. I cant recall anything redeeming from Crossroads of Twilight, and for me that one was the worst. Also I’m gonna have to disagree with you on Towers of Midnight. I agreed with what you said about Perrin being unbearable during the slog but at least in this book he finally gets to settle things once and for all with the Whitecloaks. And I think it was nice to see that plot line finally resolved. But other than that I think I agree with you on everything else, and I think my list is pretty similar to yours as well. Also what you said about re-reading this series in the future, you’ll absolutely see a bunch of foreshadowing, especially in the first book. I’m rereading the series myself and I’m on book 5. I think it’ll be easier to get through the slog and I’m looking forward to reading the last few books and the last battle all over again! ❤❤
About WH, I genuinely don’t think I can convey the amount of hate I bc have for that book. With CoT I was bored most of the time but the hate I have for WH is not comparable 😅
I did get tired of Perrin during the slog - but once he stepped into his full self in towers - I really loved it - i probably would have given it an A... but still below the memory...
Maybe it’s because in October/November I got this huge motivation to push through and marathon Winters Heart (the 3rd try 🤧) all thru the end so I had Perrin overload due to the concentration? Maybe I’ll like him more on reread bc he was one of my favorites at the start. Thank you for sharing your thoughts 😊

Just starting this series today and I'm not sure how I'm feeling about that lol.
Oof why?
