  • After the 1st month of the 2023-24 college basketball season, Indiana State has the best effective field goal percentage (eFG%) in the nation at 62.1%. This is based off adjusting for 3pt field goals.
    In this video, we breakdown the 3 main areas that the Sycamores are highly effective in, and how you can implement some of their playing style to improve your offense. The 3 areas discussed are;
    1. Transition & Early Offense
    2. Ballscreen Execution
    3. Cutting
    ISU plays with such a high-level of understanding in regards to what the defense will do in reaction to their movements, and they are hyper focused on making the simple play on-time, all the time. There's so much to learn from how easy they make the game look, because they share the ball, have great spacing, and have very skilled players.

    This team is fun to watch, and the players are having fun doing it. It's just special.

      Couldn’t agree more! I think there’s going to be a LOT of people who root for them in March Madness. It would be fun for them to be a Cinderella

    when i watch this team, robbie is the main reasoning their offense is so effective. you see it in the NBA with 5-out offenses being some of the most productive (i.e. Nuggets, Kings, OKC, Celtics) and robbie's ability to pass the ball get his teammates a lot of optimal looks.

      I think you’re right. Skilled 5 men who can pass, dribble, and shoot create a huge advantage in every level of basketball. Great assessment.

      I think the msu game proved otherwise, msu got him out early and they still looked elite on offense. Defense was a different subject.

    Can you do a series of videos breaking down the teams that lead a bunch of the categories(steals, rebounds, assists, 3s, etc)? Then us dads can learn what to do about the category we want our kids' team to improve on.

      That’s a great idea. I can put some stuff together for those categories. Thanks for the suggestion.

    This is crazy. How long to teach this? Recruit smart players from motion offense high schools?

      Recruiting smart players is a must. The time it takes is relative based on who you’re teaching it to. But, you have to know how to teach it, drill it, and break it down on film as a coach to get a team to do it well.

      You are obviously not very observant or understanding of the intricacies of the game. This ISU team is turning heads and winning over people in every game they play. A true "Team First" mentality.
