Techically, the franchise is still going with the mobile game Senran Kagura New Link receiving updates to this day. But, there hasn't been a new installment since 2021 and there hasn't been a new mainline game since 2018. Tamsoft's most recent game was Neptunia x Senran Kagura, which was that aforementioned 2021 installment. They are also currently working on Hinomaruko, which seems to be in development hell, also seems to be the case for Senran Kagura 7even. I'm not sure what's taking so long for these games since it usually doesn't take that long for Tamsoft to develop a game. Maybe these games are either so grand in scope or they are unofficially canceled? There has been a new SK game announced, but it is a Temple Run clone. The game's name is Senran Kagura Run.
@@fyreblazters I meant Senran Kagura Run. It was shown in a Honey Parade stream. I knew about that on Reddit. The only sources on that game are on Reddit, a RUclips video, and the stream. It is not on the Senran Kagura wiki, even though it is the first game in the series in over 2 and a half years, and the first dedicated game in over 5 years. I guess it is either because A: the wiki is not updated enough or B: the game is not important enough (all games in a series should be on its respective wiki, no matter how small it is). I don't think the game is fake because Honey Parade is authentic.
It's a shame SK was, more or less, toppled by the fan service it was built upon. While it's clearly aimed towards a "specific audience", the stories were genuinely well written. Though I understand the war on censorship, I'd happily see the ecchi content toned down if it meant another installment of this amazing series.
