Can't say I expected to ever see someone adapt a speed-paint version of my color scheme. Good job. I look forward to watching more.

Thanks, much appreciated! Your Ghols are awesome and definitely served as inspiration!
My default for painting 24 of anything though is, "How many corners can I cut out of this process?" 🤣

@@jtswargaming I get it. The quantity of minis I have to paint for this game is a huge obstacle to overcome. I can't stand to cut corners on my personal minis so I instead opt for insanity. lol

It's definitely not the color palette i would use. But you were right. Once you put them together they looked okay.

Awesome work! Would love to see how you handle Spires. The fleshy/chitin is very intimidating for me.

Thanks man! It's not Spires, but I do have some 40K Tyranid examples on my Instagram page. For the chitin armor, I stippled/sponged the base color (brownish green), did the same with a darker color (brown) in random spots, and then stippled yellow on the edges. Then I put down a green filter (just diluted contrast paint) over all of the plates to unify all of the colors and break up any harsh transitions. It worked really well for a mottled look while being super fast. Applying the paint this way gives you that super random natural look. I happened to be going for green, but you could do the same process with any three colors where your dark and light shades are components of the base color.
Eventually I will get around to doing a video for the process...I have a horde of Tyranids in the paint queue. And who knows, ParaBellum may send me a Spires goody box!
