On the one hand, this song is surely magnificent enough to win Smaug's approval.
On the other hand, Smaug doesn't exactly have the best track record with bards...
There really are no dragons that come close to the dragons of Arda. They aren't just large or powerful, it isn't that they breathe fire. They are arrogant, they are intelligent, they speak in curses, they breathe magic, they are magic. They are an arrogant and infernal form of divinity, and they know they are the pinnacle of all living things after the song ended in the ancient days.
Same in Skyrim :)

Wow. It's just astounding how you can sing so soft and gentle one moment and pull off being villainous the next with equal grace and ease. The lighting really set you on fire (no pun intended). I believed you were Smaug in this song. You also reminded me of Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty with that devilish look in your eyes and your commanding presence. Bravo!!!

Outstanding. I know Smaug is the bad guy (dragon) but this song flips that perspective for me, it makes hime slightly more likeable. It gives the listener a sense that they can do anything, makes them feel mighty and powerful. But hey, that is just my opinion of course.
Mythical Dragon Smaug never was evil like Sauron or the orcs, so.. from that point of view he wasn't a bad guy. Even going as far to talk with Bilbo instead of just burning him on sight.
He just followed his Dragon instincts to lay claim to a treasure hoard, and the dwarves were simply in his way. ^-^
@@shoulderpyro ok first of all Smaug was never a figure of myth, he appered in a story written in the 1930s. secondly being greedy eneugh to murder an entire city for gold ABSOLUTELY IS evil.

And again. "Dragons covet gold, with a dark and fierce desire". Putting in extremely bluntly, it was just a 'coincidence' there was a Dwarven city on top of all that gold. Smaug never cared about the city itself, and just wanted the gold. Can't really blame a creature for staying true to its nature.

Doop What makes Smaug evil is the fact he is not aware of his destructive greed. It’s like saying a murder was committed by me because I felt like doing it.
@@shoulderpyro I’m gonna be the next person to revive a year old thread: Tolkien wrote that the dragons were created by Morgoth just like the orcs. He and Sauron are both servants of Morgoth in a way.
Every time I listen to this song, I feel such fiery yet liberating resonation within me. Just soaring with a set of my own wings, flames engulfing me like a very warm flutter, and an indescribable passion for adventure. This song is exoticly addictive

Just when I think you couldn't stun me any further, you shatter that notion. This is an astounding display of talents. Composition is a mystical alchemy, and you do it so well. You capture the menace and beauty of Smaug perfectly. Then the lyrics and singing come in, to flawlessly enhance the composition. World class, simply world class.

Beautiful beyond comprehension in performance and lyricism. I can imagine that song being used for a compilation dedicated to Smaug. In fact, strangely enough, this song reminded me of an old nightmare I had of him over a year ago...

Targaryen riding on Balerion the Black Dread during the "War of Conquest", burning down everything who stands against him! As a massive fan of all and anything Tolkien I love stuff like this however this is by far and away the best Tolkien based song out there at the moment. All of your songs are amazing. This is amazing! It really feels like it's Smaug talking, even though Smaug was voiced by a male in the film (and Benedict did a great job, don't get me wrong). But I can't help hitting the replay button. I wonder what it would have been like if Smaug was voiced by one of us females? ^.^

Holy smokes! When I was out in Afghanistan for the last month, I listened to your version of "We will go home" every day and it won a special place in my heart. I just put Smaug's song on like 5 times before I realised I'd just spent nearly half an hour dancing around my lounge pretending to be a dragon. Awesome xx

And there was something about this that really displayed a new range to your voice that I don't think I've heard you do before. I don't know if you've already received a million requests for this, but do you think you might do "Let It Go" from "Frozen?" I was thinking about it the other day and I was curious if you'll do that one in the future.

The eastern music style sounds like the tale of smaug spread through the world and was adpated in a song - like the songs in Song of Ice and Fire.
