  • Our Channel is focused on LIVE Plane Spotting from Manchester International Airport, UK. Live streaming from the Runway Visitor Park, Manchester Airport. Currently using dual runway ops at MAN, catching airplanes taking off and landing on two separate runways. The second busiest of the airports in the UK behind London Heathrow (LHR).       ​@@betterthanyou8496the computer already drives the plane now.. the pilots normally only take over when its clear weather upon landing or taking off.. but in the air, the plane flies itself.. now, even in bad weather sometimes when the pilots cant see the runway, the plane will land itself, without the pilots even touching the sticks.. they just make sure their coordinates are correct and at the height and speeds to come in for landing, and the plane automatically follows the flight path to the beacon, located at the landing strip, so the plane flies itself by computer now, already..

      ​@@teresawhitstine That is true. I remember landing at Bologna airport with fog that you couldn't see the lights of the city and airport. The pilot kindly anounced that they were landing with instruments auto pilot. The landing was perfect, no bumps realy supprised me what electornics can do .

    I flew the A380 just once and loved it. It was a British Airways flight from LAX-LONDON. The flight attendant said they call the plane The Beast

      It's same thing with huge sea vessels. In sea you need to displace as much water as you weigh. Same here you need to create as much lift as you weigh. Same core principal very very difficult to nail though. Exceptional engineering at its best., 👏

      It’s nothing to do with the airport it’s the pub called the Airport Hotel. My Dad took me there in the 80s and early 90s when it wasn’t as popular. The airport is a disgrace, they closed the spectators terraces years ago and ruined the terminal 1. You used to be able to sit in departures area and view the planes until around 20 years ago or so.

      Manchester is a spotter's paradise. My two favourite places are an open area actually located in-between the two runways, or the area at the southern end of runway one. An Emirates A380 only 100 feet above your head is really quite a sight to see!

    The A380 is an engineering master piece,it has a turning circle and takeoff distance that are surprisingly small despite it's massive size.

      I believe it actually needs less runway for rotating than the 747. It was designed with far larger wings for more lift. I saw a picture a few months ago where both types were parked together, and the difference was remarkable.

    Every time I see one of these I still marvel at what an engineering achievement this was! This is an amazing plane! Still on my bucket list to take a trip one day and get there in style!

    Despite being an avgeek and understanding how flight works, it is still hard to comprehend how big the A380 is compared to us as humans and the fence that seperates the field and the runway, and how its possible for the plane to go into the air stay up there……

      And go very high and very fast, mind you not
      This beast can go up to 1100 km/h and usually flies more than 41000 feet in most intercontinental flights

    The idea that something that big and heavy can get off the ground just baffles me. I understand the physics of it, but it’s still hard to believe.

      Weighs as much as 500 cars, yet it lifts off and roars past at almost 1000 km/h at 40000 ft in the sky. The symphony of the physics and sheer monstrous power of this beast is just incredible

      They are, I remember first seeing one taxiing at the aviation park at Manchester airport (which is at the opposite end of the airport to the pub and beer garden in this video) and being amazed at the sheer size of it.

    Reminds me of the days back in the 50’s and 60’s when my dad would take us to the airport to watch the old prop planes to take off from a little airport at the top of a mountain in WV where the Marshall University jet crashed in 1970💚

    Flew in the Malaysia Airlines A380 on 3 occasions LHR- KUL, KUL-LHR, LHR-KUL. Circa 2012-2013. Such a stable plane. Love watching the tail camera while landing approach LHR at high winds as the a380’s tail sway towards starboard or port. What a beauty.

      Manchester ,there is a bar /restaurant at the end of the runway, we go for lunch on a sun its great the kids love it ,they come in to land practically over your head

    I saw one in person for the first time this year back at JFKs airport it was an Ethihad A380 and I was completely blown away by the sheer size
    I can’t believe something that massive can get off the ground with such ease

    That's at The Airport pub in Manchester, the beer garden backs onto the runway. I remember being there about 10 years ago and a Jumbo 747 came up to turn around and take off, the blast from the engines knocked over all the wheelie bins in the garden, there was plastic glasses everywhere, lol

      I saw a twitterclip about 6 months ago from a 380 entering a runway and spooling up the engines. The highpitch was remarkable, and a few seconds later almost full thrust was applied and the engine sounds changed one octave higher and it almost sounded like music.
      In this clip you can hear it too, although barely.

    Flown it on the round trip to Johannesburg, the most memorable thing is the lack of noise and how it handles turbulence. Amazing aircraft.

      They're Engine Alliance engines in this tail number. There are quite a few 380s with RR T900 engines as well.

    I love when the engines spool up, it sounds like it's about to hit a time warp...no matter how many times i see it, its always unbelievable we can not only get something that big in the air but get it 40,000 feet in the air and traveling at 500+mph...it never ever ceases to amaze me... and was that a cat and cow at 0:15?

      In short it has a maximum certified capacity for 853 passengers.

    Love this plane! I wish they would build one of these with another floor up front like the 747s so it had three floors with the pilots sitting three floors up
