I used and loved Obsidian for 2 years. However, I slowly found myself using Apple Notes more and more, mainly because Obsidian syncs so slowly on iPhone and is just not as mobile/iPad friendly. I use Bear in combination with Apple Notes for things that I want to make sure I can keep for a long time (in Markdown) and then link those Bear notes within Apple notes. This allows me to use Apple notes as my main app for everything and then link out to Bear for longer writing.
Ahh yeah although this can probably be solved now. With iOS 18 you can keep all your notes downloaded on your iPhone at all times so you don't need to sync each time the app starts up. But agree the app is not as good as on desktop. I'll keep using Apple Notes on iPhone and Obsidian on desktop for now. Heard a lot of good things about Bear though!
Apple Notes is a closed shop, you cannot your texts out easily and cannot use other Apps to work on your texts. That renders Apple Notes totally useless!

Haha I wouldn't say useless but it's definitely a huge limitation I agree.
