You mentioned earlier that your porcelain sweater got dye on the cuffs.I had a few ideas. One is to wash it with a colour catcher. If that does not work I would cut off the cuffs then reknit them, then graft the new cuff onto the sleeve. There are a lot of videos on RUclips.
Was that a glass recycling machine that gave you money off your shopping?! If so that is such a clever idea, hopefully shops will do it in the UK. Also Molly are your socks the Rye socks by Tin Can Knits? They look great, I think I have that pattern on Ravelry so may make my next socks in that pattern!
